THE 2mLANDSCAPEMONT-A-L’ABBÉ (3.2km) Had the British military project begun in the first half of the 19th century been finished, the area between Archirondel and St Catherine’s would been a large harbour and associated naval dockyard, and far different to its peaceful and largely undeveloped character within Jersey’s National Park. On this circular walk, we will explore the project’s surviving features and hear stories from the time, as well as why the harbour was probably doomed to failure.
