The ‘Hooning Community Reference Group’ will be another tool in Victoria Police’s arsenal, complementing Victoria’s anti-hoon legislation, which is among the country’s toughest – including on-the-spot licence suspensions for excessive speeding, and powers to impound and permanently confiscate vehicles driven in a reckless manner. The reference group will bring together members of the community and stakeholders with road safety experts across law enforcement, government, and research groups, to work together on a new ‘Victorian Hoon Driving Action Plan’.
