The Western Bulldogs couldn’t win the AFL premiership for the Morda family from Maddingley, but granddaughter Sadie took home the chocolates. The two-month old was already dressed and ready for the first bounce of the Grand Final on Saturday 25 September when grandmother Wendy, saw a competition on the Moorabool News social media page. Editor Helen Tatchell said she ran the competition to hopefully give someone a boost and create a bit of fun. “We put up for grabs two $50 local café vouchers for the best dressed photos of supporters in Melbourne or Western Bulldogs colours, and the winners were those photos with the most ‘likes’. “People had already gone to considerable effort to decorate themselves and their houses, inside and out, so it was just a matter of snapping a shot and posting it on our Facebook page, she said.” “Was just a bit of fun in these current bleak times. I hope the winners enjoy the coffee and cake whilst also supporting our local small businesses in the process.” Ms Morda said her whole family are Bulldogs supporters. “…. and have been since we were kids from the Braybrook and Footscray area,” she said. “My dad was a Dogs fan, so I guess it all started from there. Loyal to the red, white and blue.” And her reaction on being announced the winner? “I was really shocked. There were so many cute kids and other great photos. I guess I took the photo at the right time,” she said.

Festival still to bear fruit By Lachlan Ellis

The running of Bacchus Marsh’s famous Strawberry & Cherry Festival, as well as the Harvest Festival, has changed hands – but the new organisers say it’ll be business as usual. Felicity Ashman is Event Manager at Bacchus Marsh Alive, which has taken over the running of the festivals from the Bacchus Marsh Tourism Association (BMTA). Sadly, the BMTA ceased operations on 30 June this year, citing financial issues that were made worse by the pandemic. However, Ms Ashman says that Bacchus Marsh Alive, which operates under the Urban Markets banner, intends to run the festivals near identically to how they’ve been run for the past 15 years. “I’ve actually run the event for the last 7 years under Urban Markets, working with the BMTA. When they decided it had become too much for them, they offered me to set up a committee under the old BMTA name,” Ms Ashman told the Moorabool News. “I thought, no, I can’t cope with the amount of tourism enquiries coming in. So, we created a new name, focusing on the events, and looking at the potential of creating other events in the future. “We’ve got a great committee, we’ve got a local accountant, we’ve got Jeremy Van Langenberg from the Baptist Church, Kayleen from GoPods, Joel who used to be one of our stallholders, a young lady called Natalie, and Dotty who does the EasterFest, who’s come on-board as our secretary.”

Ms Ashman said the main change, if the Strawberry and Cherry Festival is allowed to go ahead, would be a move to Maddingley Park for contract tracing purposes. “I’d love to see it go back to the street one day, but whether or not it does, I don’t know. It depends on what happens over the next couple of years. But we’re trying to go ahead with the same format, with the carnival, with the strawberries and cherries…we’ve got two big orchards, strawberry growers and berry growers coming,” she said. And while Bacchus Marsh Alive has been coming together after months of work behind the scenes, Ms Ashman hopes to get more people involved with the group, and the festivals themselves. “It’s community activities we want to focus on and getting more community participation. Music and bands and that kind of stuff as well. We do want more community participation, we want community displays…that’s been the hardest thing over the years, we’d like a lot more groups to come forward,” she said. “We’re trying to keep it really community-minded; we’d certainly welcome a couple more people on the committee. We’ll be looking for more volunteers later on and all of that fun stuff as we get sorted out. Everyone’s super keen to go ahead. “Other non-profit groups that want to come along and do something, and share and display…we don’t charge them for a group, that’s not the right thing to do. We want to encourage

them, it’s an ideal place to engage with the public.” If COVID restrictions permit, Bacchus Marsh Alive hope to run the Strawberry & Cherry Festival this year from Friday 19 November to Sunday 21 November. For general enquiries about the Strawberry & Cherry Festival and Harvest Festival, send an email to admin@bacchusmarshalive.com.au.

Lockdown knock down By Helen Tatchell It was bound to happen, Moorabool Shire going into lockdown, especially when surrounding shires have seen positive covid case numbers increase. Premier Daniel Andrews announced just before midday last Friday, a snap seven-day lockdown for the Moorabool Shire, prompting Mayor Tom Sullivan to express his disappointment. “There was no communication from the government or health officials to us at all, that Moorabool was going to be placed in a snap lockdown,” he said. “We heard, like everyone, on the radio or television that this was going to occur when the Premier did his daily update. This I find is disappointing and disrespectful.” Cr Sullivan said Council could have prepared themselves for the concerning phone calls from the public if they at least were given the ‘heads-up’. “Someone knew this announcement was going to be made, they could have put an embargo on it even,” he said. “The communication didn’t necessarily have to be to me, but to the organiastion. “I don’t think the community can keep taking these lockdowns that come out of left field. Businesses are struggling, they have their head in their hands, and I wonder how many times they can get knocked down, before they stay down.”

Mayor Tom Sullivan was disappointed Council were not informed of the snap lockdown prior to the Premier’s announcement. Cr Sullivan said it is ungracious to say, ‘we are all in this together’. “This pandemic has been going for over 20-months. I am not sure if the community can stomach any more lockdowns if this goes into 2022.” Exposure sites within the shire have increased and so have the numbers of positive cases. On Monday 27 September, there were 18 active cases. By Friday 1 October, that figure rose significantly to 32. The number dropped by 2 on the Sunday to 30. The lockdown comes just days after Moorabool recorded an 83.8% first vaccination rate of 15plus, with 48.4% second dose vaccinated. COVID-19 testing sites are located outside the shire in Melton and Sebastopol however, late on Saturday afternoon Moorabool Council announced

a site would operate in Bacchus Marsh on the Sunday (3 Oct) and Monday (4 Oct) “A walk in site was set up at the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall in Main Street, and parking was available at the rear of the hall,” a social media post read. According to the official government corona virus website, Bacchus Marsh had one new Tier 2 exposure site, the Bacchus Marsh Veterinary Centre. It was noted that the case attended the venue on Monday 27 September with the exposure period between 11.30am-1.00pm. The health advice for anyone who has visited this location during these times, is to get tested urgently and isolate until you have a negative result. The website still has three other Tier 2 listings from last week, one in Bacchus Marsh and two venues in Ballan. Cellarbrations Bacchus Marsh had a case attend the venue on Saturday 25 September between 10.20pm-11.00pm. Ballan Newsagency had a case attend the venue on Saturday 25 September 11am-11.30am. Ballan IGA supermarket had an exposure period on Friday 24 September 5.50pm-6.30pm; Sunday 26 September 10.30am11.30am; and Monday 27 September 10.50am-11.40am. Bottle neck revamp to remove By Lachlan Ellis

Have you been told you need an endoscopy?

An upgrade to one of Bacchus Marsh’s busiest intersections aims to ease congestion issues, but not everyone is convinced the plan deserves a green light. The designs for the intersection upgrade were released on Wednesday 29 September, with the notoriously busy roundabout at the intersection of Main Street, Grant Street and Gisborne Road to be replaced with dual lane approaches and traffic lights. State Member for Melton, Steve McGhie, said the upgrade would provide a range of benefits to those who use the busy intersection. “The new intersection plan is an improvement on the current intersection in a number of ways; the controlled intersection is safer, preventing vehicles from ‘kamikazeing’ through, and it provides safety for pedestrians by providing a crossing that doesn’t currently exist,” Mr McGhie told the Moorabool News. “It provides better traffic flow with allocated right-hand and left-hand turning lanes to ease congestion. This doesn’t exist with the current one-lane roundabout.” An estimated 1,900 vehicles use the intersection between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, and more than 2,000 vehicles use it between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) consulted extensively with surrounding businesses and Council during the design planning process, but due to the constrained nature of the road, some parking spaces and trees will need to be removed. According to RRV, “a maximum of three trees in Grant Street, one tree in Main Street and 14 trees on Gisborne Road will need to be removed”, as well as “a maximum of eight car parking spaces in Grant Street and 15 spaces in Main Street”. However, six parking spaces will be delivered to offset this loss – three in the Church Street car park, two outside the Bacchus Marsh Police Station, and one near the CFA station. RRV is also investigating whether it can relocate some of the trees it needs to remove, including the bottle trees on Gisborne Road.

trees and parking spaces East Ward Councillor David Edwards said he was glad to see the State Government invest in traffic management in Bacchus Marsh but, thought the loss of parking spaces was unfortunate for local residents and businesses. “I think it’s great that VicRoads are going to do some upgrades to improve traffic flow throughout Bacchus Marsh, however, I am concerned at the reduction in car parking,” Cr Edwards said. “The study they showed us talked about parking being adequate within 400 metres away, but that doesn’t help pensioners or disabled people who wish to use facilities or visit shops in the area. I think it’ll disadvantage sections of our community that may have limited mobility. “The reality is, you have the accountants, fish and chip shop, chicken shop and numerous other businesses you want people to visit…I don’t agree with the argument that parking within 400 metres is adequate. We’re not metropolitan Melbourne, we don’t have adequate public transport that stops every couple hundred of metres,” he said. The upgrade will cost $4.1 million and was funded in the Victorian Budget 2020/2021. Construction is expected to begin from mid-2022.

Woolpack Road Back on the Table? Some locals have suggested the controversial Woolpack Road extension would also ease congestion, particularly from trucks. When asked whether he thought the Woolpack Road extension should be considered again, Mr McGhie left that decision to the community and RRV. “Regional Roads Victoria are working through a process for the Eastern Link bypass. If feedback from the community is provided to Regional Roads Victoria that they should consider the Woolpack Road option, then I am sure they will consider all potential options.” Mr McGhie said. Cr Edwards said the Woolpack Road extension should have been investigated as an option for the Eastern Link Road planning study. “I think it should’ve been considered as part of the overall package for the Eastern Link study, but it wasn’t. So how do we know if it’s the best route, or if it should be off the table altogether?” he said. “My concern is that, if we’re going to build a bypass, we need to build a bypass people will use. I’m not sure that enough effort has gone into ensuring that all options have been considered.”

Powerline protest gets fiery

Protestors have gotten fired up, with over 460 landowners lighting bonfires to show their objection to the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project (WVTNP). The ‘Stop AusNet’s Towers’ community alliance organised the bonfire protest on Friday 24 September to light up the sky, in a striking and COVID-safe form of protest. In a time when group gatherings are restricted, the community members stayed at their homes while protesting what the community alliance calls an “appalling” and “ill-conceived” project. Stop AusNet’s Towers spokesperson, Emma Muir, said the community had come together to show their opposition to the “disgraceful” project. “AusNet’s continued absence of genuine community consultation and its recent stand over tactics and bullying, as they attempt to gain access to private properties across Western Victoria, has a community ready to boil over,” Ms Muir said.

“It was amazing to see a line of 460 plus fires along the route, the community really came together. We could see bonfires all around our property for miles. “Victorians deserve a renewable energy future that is founded on innovative, reliable and scalable technology, because we do not want to see our energy future disabled with outdated and dangerous technology like the WVTNP.” Ms Muir argued that the community needed to hold the Victorian Government, especially Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio, to account, as well as energy operator AusNet Services. “The entire project has been a disgrace from the very beginning. How can we trust AusNet? They were responsible for the Black Saturday bushfires and continued mismanagement of projects like the WVTNP,” Ms Muir said. “We urge the Minister to send the WVTNP back to the drawing board.”

Funding applications for cattle, sheep, goat, swine, and honeybee industries have been extended, with the deadline for the Livestock Biosecurity Funds Grant Program moving to late November. Under the program, grants are offered to help prevent, monitor and control diseases, which in turn improves animal health, biosecurity and market access for Victoria’s livestock industries. Agriculture Victoria Executive Director, Sally Fensling, said the Livestock Biosecurity Funds Grant Program would provide benefits not just for livestock farmers, but for agriculture more broadly in Victoria. “Grants are available for projects that provide innovative solutions, use emerging technologies and resolve livestock biosecurity issues, needs or gaps for these local industries,” Ms Fensling said. “This program shows the collaboration and shared responsibility between government and industry in biosecurity, and champions

projects that aim to strengthen our biosecurity in Victoria.” Private sector businesses, universities and research institutions, co-operatives, government agencies, local government, and incorporated associations can all apply for the funding. Any organisation looking to apply is asked to read the guidelines and eligibility criteria, review the relevant Statement of Strategic Intent, and complete the online application form. “With the deadline for applications extended, even more eligible organisations can apply for funding that will support important projects that benefit our livestock industries,” Ms Fensling said. Applications will close at 11:59 pm on Friday 26 November 2021. For more information, search ‘Livestock Biosecurity Funds – Grant Program’ on the Agriculture Victoria website, or call the Customer Contact Centre on 136 186.

Eagles declared minor premiers By Lachlan Ellis The Gordon Football Club have been named minor premiers, but the achievement is bittersweet, with the Central Highlands Football League (CHFL) finals season cancelled for the second year in a row. Gordon finished the season undefeated with a percentage of 305.8 per cent, and looked likely to play in its first Grand Final since 2015, and perhaps win its first premiership since 1988. But COVID-19 struck again with the finals on the horizon, and the board of the CHFL meeting on Friday September 17, deciding to cancel the finals series. Coaching assistant and former Gordon seniors coach and player, Rob Fuller, said the decision was heartbreaking not just for Gordon, but other clubs who’d had stellar seasons too. “It’s the same for Hepburn, Rokewood, Dunnstown and Skipton…they were all very good. Skipton and Rokewood have really come on this year, they were pretty good opponents. But for us, it’s very disappointing that we didn’t have the chance to prove that we were the best side,” Mr Fuller told the Moorabool News. “The whole club…we didn’t have the Reserves in the finals, but we had the Under 18s and the Under 15s in the footy, and A, B and C teams in the netball. It was fantastic that they made it, but we’re all a bit flat that we won’t have the chance to prove ourselves.” Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Gordon’s senior coaches, Ron Watt and Adam Toohey, had been “fantastic” in keeping the Eagles’ campaign going and organising individual training drills during lockdowns, Mr Fuller said. “We’re a happy team at Gordon, as our song goes. We’re looking forward to when this is over, and we can get back to playing footy again.” CHFL President Doug Hobson, said it was sad to have to end a season early again, but that it was the right call. “Our motto is ‘if we can play football, we will play football’.

Photo - Tim Saultry / sportingherald.com.au

But Sunday [19 September] did spell the death knell for football in Victoria when the roadmap out of lockdown came out and said we couldn’t play football until November,” Mr Hobson told the Moorabool News. “On late Friday evening, Ballarat did look like it was going to get worse. It was sensible for us to stop the season – our Ballarat-based players couldn’t come to train, and we’d be silly to think that all our clubs don’t have someone from Ballarat or that works in Ballarat. We didn’t want to accentuate the COVID situation in the Ballarat district, that was our train of thought.” Mr Hobson said everybody is disappointed.

“Would have liked to have gone ahead but after talking to clubs and taking the current situations of COVID into account, the sensibility of it all outweighs the decision to proceed in 2021. “We will go forward; we’ll have another crack next year,” he said. Out of 17 possible games on the 2021 season fixture, the CHFL Seniors played 12, and the Juniors played 15 matches. Gordon seniors finished undefeated on top of the CHFL ladder, six-points clear of Hepburn; eight-points ahead of Rokewood/Corindhap and Dunnstown.

As it plans for a safe return to in-person schooling, the Victorian Government has announced investment in what it calls the ‘Three Vs’: Ventilation, Vaccination, and Vital COVIDSafe Steps. The Government is investing over $190 million in initiatives aimed at slowing the spread of coronavirus, with 51,000 air purification devices to be rolled out at 2,149 government and low-fee non-government schools, from the start of Term 4. The purifiers will be delivered by Samsung, and are designed to remove potentially infectious particles from higher-risk areas in schools such as sick bays, staff rooms, music rooms and other high-traffic areas. The schools will also be entitled to a grant of up to $25,000 to purchase shade sails, complementing the Department of Health’s existing School Shade Grants Program. A further $60 million will go towards creating outdoor learning spaces. Throughout the school holidays and Term 4, infrastructure audits, ventilation assessments and CO2 monitoring will continue in a sample of schools and early childhood education services, to identify any further actions that could make these places more COVIDSafe. A Ventilation Technical Advisory Panel is also being established, to undertake risk assessments of other environments, such as youth justice facilities. On Wednesday 22 September, the Chief Health Officer advised that vaccination will be made mandatory for staff in schools and early childhood settings, to protect children, staff, and the community. All staff in Victorian schools and early childhood services will be required to have a first dose by 18 October or have a booking within one week, with full vaccination required by 29 November, unless they have a medical exemption. All government school staff are entitled to a half-day of paid time off to get their vaccination, and staff and school families have been urged to book in as soon as possible. “I know Victorian families can’t wait to see their kids back in the classroom – but we need to keep them safe once they’re there, and we’re delivering ventilation devices to prevent as much transmission on school sites as possible,” Minister for Education James Merlino said. “With a roadmap in place to get all students back to school safely, we’ll make sure every single Victorian child is supported when they’re back in the classroom – whether that’s with their schoolwork or their wellbeing.”

Send your letters to news@themooraboolnews.com.au Dear Editor, Excellent article on magpies and wise advice from Jess Law from the Adelaide Wildlife rehabilitation facility (M/News 21.9.21 page 5). Similar deformities are seen on pigeons at the Southern Cross railway station - I thought something had happened to make the poor birds hobble on stumps but a station attendant told me that it was common because of everyone feeding them scraps. I had no idea. As you say, magpies eat insects, not mince, and there is a worldwide decline in all insects, largely due to pesticides used so frequently in agriculture and domestic settings. There are some pesticide free products coming onto the market. In the meantime, choose other ways to control pests and weeds. There are some good gardening shows on the radio which suggest natural products to help in your garden. Mara Hayler – Darley Dear Editor, I recently advised the Weather Bureau that I would like to hand over reading of the rainfall to another person. I have been reading the rainfall each morning at 9am for over 45-years, the majority of those readings at Ballan. The rainfall at Ballan has been read continuously since 1875. The rain gauge in earlier days used to be at the Post Office and readings were placed on the noticeboard, but after some vandalism the gauge was moved to our home. In earlier days the Bureau phoned each morning to ask how much rain there had been but these days the total is sent electronically. If anyone has an interest in taking this on, would you please contact either myself on 0417 591 329, or the weather bureau. There is no payment for doing this although in the last few years a BOM calendar has been sent at Christmas. Merilyn Meadows – Ballan Dear Editor, Although inevitable, the closing of the Ballan Hospital is the end of an era. The Hospital, which was a Bush Nursing Hospital has over the years enjoyed the full support of the community. When we arrived in Ballan over 40-years ago, donations of eggs, fruit and vegetables were regularly made, and the donors listed and thanked in the local paper. Later the decision was made to build a Hostel, a government grant was made but more money was needed and so the Community went to work. With the help of the Ballan Shire a block of land was made available, and a house built, most of the work was donated by local tradesmen, the painting done by those on the committee and volunteers. With more money required, a raffle for a car was held, selling tickets was a big job and to take the car to various venues to be on display was sometimes a worry that it might be damaged. There have been Dinners and Balls held and many other fundraisers as well and all have been well supported. Over the years there has been ongoing support, through the Ladies committee and later the Op Shop as well. The generosity in time and also financially by many in the community is much appreciated. Question - Was the Hospital sold for a profit or to just cover the losses made? We don’t know but as former Committee members we appreciate all the support given to the Hospital over the years. Ray and Merilyn Meadows – Ballan Dear Editor, I am fed up with the politicisation of the WVTNP by known opponents of renewable energy pretending to be concerned about our community. Louise Staley MHR, Ripon, has been exposed for her part in this debate by Jeremy Harper, The Local, 13/09/2021. Louise knows this project was commissioned by the AEMO, a federally constituted and funded body. But Ms Staley has a long record of standing against renewable energy. She voted against the Victorian Renewable Energy Target legislation in 2017 (Ararat Advertiser, 29/09/2017). On 29/09/2017 she was reported as saying “targets for (renewable) energy will hurt Ripon”, The Wimmera Mail-Times. On 11/12/2017 she was reported in the Stawell Times talking down renewable energy projects. On 23/08/2021 Louise Staley announced, “the Victorian Liberals will protect thousands … from Daniel Andrew’s ill-conceived WTVNP”, www.louisestaley. com.au. Meanwhile we have scores of misleading signs on people’s properties, blaming Dan Andrews, or asking where various Labor politicians are. All based on lies perpetrated by Liberal Party politicians. And these signs are not cheap, with many being enamelled metal, coreflute or printed canvas signs all up worth many $1000’s of dollars. From whence does the money come? Or a crass signs adorning a hill over which a transmission line pass, and under which the same farmer who claims that the sky will fall if the WVTNP goes ahead is farming his fields. If it wasn’t so sad, I would laugh. Opposite this hill is a farm gate adorned with signage that tells the passer-by that the local economy will be devasted if the WVTNP is built. Farmers won’t be able to farm, tourists won’t come because of the transmissions lines, and we will have to “get up in morning ‘fore sun goes down and lick ‘t’ road clean”. So, I have some questions for the people who proudly display these signs. Why haven’t people already stopped coming to our region since there are already plenty of transmission lines here? And why are you able to farm under these transmission lines, but not the WTVNP? And why do I have to smell bulls*** every time I go out? Ross Redwin – Creswick

Foster carers needed Been thinking about becoming a Foster Carer? Not sure what it is all about? Well, now you can watch a six part online videoseries, detailing stories and insights from existing Cafs Foster Carers, who have opened up their hearts and their homes for children in-need. Launched during Foster Care Week the video-series aims to educate those in the community who are considering Foster Care, by debunking any myths and sharing real experiences of what to expect when becoming a Foster Carer. Foster Care Week is about raising awareness around the vital importance of foster care in the community while recognising the invaluable contribution from existing Foster Carers. Wendy Sturgess, CEO Cafs said Foster Carers provide an essential service for children who are unable to stay in their family home. “Foster Carers build relationships with, and nurture and care for foster children, helping them with their practical and emotional needs by creating an environment where they can commence healing from their

trauma,” she said. “Being a Foster Carer doesn’t have to be a full-time commitment – you can choose the level of care that fits with you and your family.” Ms Sturgess said Foster Carers come from many different backgrounds. “They can be single, or have a partner, have no children or have children of their own, they can rent or own their home, work, study or be retired and can be from any culture, religion or sexual orientation. “If you can provide a safe and nurturing home for a child; we want to hear from you.” There is a real need for carers in the local community and Ms Sturgess said Cafs is there to support anyone on the Foster Care journey. The first step is only a phone call away. “We hope that by sharing this first-hand experience, there may be more members from the community that will be willing to take the first step in becoming a Foster Carer,” Ms Sturgess said. The video-series is free to view and can be accessed at www.cafs.org.au/fostercare.

The Moorabool News – 5 October, 2021 Page 17

The boy is bulletproof By Tim O’Connor (HRV) Scott Ewen and his connections made the decision this week to bypass the Pryde’s EasiFeed Victoria Cup with warhorse Bulletproof Boy, but he showed he would have been a worthy participant in the Grand Circuit classic with a brilliant sprint lane victory in the TAB Smoken Up Sprint. The Cranbourne-based trainer-driver has credited the addition of a wind sucking pad - applied before an eyecatching third placing on September 11 – as key to the horse’s improved performance, and he produced another special display to win the $50,000 Group 2 feature in Bendigo on Saturday evening. The late scratching of Max Delight – one of trainer David Aiken’s three runners in the race – altered many speed maps and Ewen capitalised. He allowed Torrid Saint to glide to the lead, tucking in behind from barrier one for a cosy run throughout much of the 1650m trip. Coiled up and ready to pounce, Bulletproof Boy exploded along the sprint lane and ran past the leader, who battled on well for second ahead of the fast-finishing Tango Tara.

Saturday 2 October, Bendigo Race 7 Winner: Bulletproof Boy (1), Trained and Driven by Scott Ewen. Photo Stuart McCormick.

The win, in a slick mile rate of 1:52.2, was Ewen’s first in the Smoken Up Sprint and the biggest of Bulletproof Boy’s 104-start career, which has now earned connections over $240,000 in prizemoney. And despite so many trips to the races, Ewen remains confident there’s plenty of life left in the six-year-old yet. "At the end of the day, he's a sit-sprinter. I think they've got a longer life than your bullock horses,” he said. "I had a horse years ago that was half a cripple and he's lasted three or four years. His name was Razz. Because he was a sit-sprinter, he just kept going. And I think Bulletproof Boy is the same. I think there's another couple of seasons in him for sure.” Ewen said the decision had been made to run the Art Official gelding in next weekend’s Garrards Popular Alm Free For All and not nominate for the Victoria Cup, which would likely prove a stiff assignment. “I said to the owners that we could go around and get our $2000 or $3000, we'd probably get a run in it, or the second race is worth $30,000 and he's a good chance of picking up $16,000 or $17,000,” he said. "We can always come to those races down the track."
