The Montserrat Development Corporation is leading an ambitious infrastructure programme for Montserrat, aiming to build a new capital town in the north of the island. We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Director to drive our Infrastructure Division and to help create a thriving new community. The Director will play a central role in the creation of Montserrat’s capital, and the job is a unique opportunity for a creative and influential leader to make a major, lasting impact on the island’s future. Job Title: Director, Infrastructure Reporting to: Chief Executive, Montserrat Development Corporation (MDC) Location: MDC Offices, Little Bay, Montserrat Job Purpose: To make a measurable impact on the Montserrat economy through: implementing the master plan for the Little Bay/Carr’s Bay site (New Capital Town); managing the Little Bay Estate; working with the Government of Montserrat (GoM) to improve access to Montserrat, in particular through a new port; identifying potential sites for development elsewhere in Montserrat; supporting the Trade and Investment Promotion Division in identifying and securing new investment in Montserrat. Key Objectives: 1. To lead the implementation of the Master Plan, reviewing development applications, making recommendations to the MDC CEO, Board and GoM on land use and development priorities, ensuring the necessary infrastructure is in place. 2. To ensure that the Little Bay Estate is managed to the standards required to preserve the Master Plan 3. To coordinate with GoM, DFID, and other stakeholders in the design, funding and construction work required to improve access to Montserrat. 4. To identify and secure where possible sites elsewhere on Montserrat required to accommodate new investment and business opportunities. 5. To support the Trade and Investment Promotion Division in targeting and handling investor enquiries. 6. To lead and motivate the divisional team of permanent staff and TC support. 7.
