We are thrilled to celebrate seven years’ worth of outstanding magazines, each of which were chock-full of superior content and information targeting the local community. We are proud of our growth and the place we’ve earned as an integral part of the Monsey community, and with this special gift, we present a toast to our loyal readership.

From our inception, we’ve been known for our well-researched, allinclusive Excursions compilations that have become trusted reference guides for many a traveling family.

Upon reaching this tremendous milestone, we are celebrating with the presentation of an exclusive getaway compilation that is bigger and better than ever before! We’ve selected twelve lovely vacation spots close to minyan that are within driving distance (many are accessible

by Amtrak as well), and here we present to you a full itinerary for each destination. In compiling the list, we’ve kept families of varied ages in mind. We’ve also worked to present up-to-the-minute information for summer 2022 so you can plan the most beautiful family trip with ease.

If you don’t want to travel too far for fresh mountain air, and the great outdoors — with its hiking and water opportunities — is your idea of a summer getaway, the Poconos is the perfect location for families of all ages.

This huge expanse of mountains and water is full of scenic spots and loads of mountain adventures, most famously the must-visit Bushkill Falls.

Here, we based the center spot as Stroudsburg, which is closest to our area and in the vicinity of the selected attractions.

Tannersville and Hunter are two neighboring areas, a village and a town respectively, in the Great Northern Catskills, which are just a few minutes from each other.

In addition to the options of family-friendly attractions close by, which make it that perfect destination for families of little children (though the Hunter Mountain chairlift is not an option for infants and toddlers), the place itself has an old-fashioned charm. Quaint shops dot the country roads, and charming little homes are scattered about. The very nature of the place is conducive to relaxation.

With kosher food available and several shuls with minyanim, it really is a lovely summer family destination.

Entry to House and Senate Galleries is through the upper level of the Capitol Visitor Center

A special gallery pass is needed to visit the Senate and House Galleries, which are open to the public when Congress is not in session, and which can also be toured while either legislative body is in session. Niagara Falls is a sight to behold and an experience for everyone to try.

In addition to the various falls attractions (most of which little kids cannot participate in), the area over on our side of the border features the Erie Canal experience as well as an inside look into how the falls provides energy for a great part of New York in Power Vista’s attraction.
