IMPACT REPORT 2024

A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

What a remarkable year 2024 has been for The Mind Field, Inc.! We started strong with The Girl’s Room themed Mindful Memoirs, brought the community together for our 2nd Annual Minority Mental Health Fair, hosted powerful discussions on mental health and intersectionality, and championed men’s wellness with our first-ever Power of Connection: Men’s Mental Health Seminar. From tabling health fairs to supporting Joaquin Soto’s impactful Diffusing the Stigma art show, every step of our journey was fueled by purpose and passion.

Our progress this year wouldn’t have been possible without YOU. Your unwavering support has helped us break down barriers, create safe spaces, and empower our community with knowledge and resources. Together, we’ve continued to defuse stigma, one mind at a time, and we’re just getting started.

As we close the year, we’re filled with gratitude and excitement for what’s to come. Here’s to another year of connection, growth, and positive change!

JANUARY TO MARCH

QUARTER 1: LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR HEALING AND CONNECTION

We began 2024 with Mindful Memoirs: The Girls Room, a women-only session centered on healing from relationship trauma and stepping into our highest selves. This intimate gathering was led by Tiffany Lindley, LPC-S, and Flora Martinez

Vazquez, LPC-Associate (supervised by Angelica Tello, PhD.), with 25 women in attendance. The safe, affirming space sparked powerful reflection, healing, and growth.

In February, we hosted another Mindful Memoirs session—this time without a set topic—which allowed participants to guide the conversation organically. What emerged was a night filled with raw vulnerability, meaningful dialogue, and new connections.

To honor Women’s History Month in March, we hosted a special DEFUSED Discussion panel titled Empowering Her Journey: Nurturing Maternal Mental Wellness. This panel created a sacred space to spotlight the challenges and triumphs of maternal mental health in communities of color. Our esteemed panelists included Philipa Williams, Founder of ilooklikeLOVE; Princilla Moore, Founder and CEO of Delighted to Doula; Dania Carter, Founder and CEO of Hearts of Courage; and Chamin Herron, Doula at Herron Births. The event welcomed over 50 attendees and ignited powerful conversations about support, stigma, and healing.

MINORITY MENTAL HEALTH FAIR

MINORITY MENTAL HEALTH FAIR

QUARTER 2: EXPANDING OUR REACH AND RAISING AWARENESS

At our Minority Mental Health Fair, we proudly connected 600 community members with 20 community partners offering mental health resources and services, as well as 9 licensed therapists. The seminars focused on practical and impactful topics, including strategies for coping with stress, navigating therapy with or without insurance, and how family influences perceptions of mental health.

We’re excited to report a 100% increase in community attendance compared to last year, along with a 233% increase in participating community partners. While we observed a 10% decrease in therapist participation, we remain committed to building stronger provider relationships moving forward. This year’s fair marked a significant milestone in our mission and we proudly celebrate this meaningful growth.

The Minority Mental Health Fair isn’t just for adults—we intentionally create a family-friendly environment. As part of our commitment to holistic wellness, we offer free haircuts and hairstyles for all children under the age of 18. We believe that when you look good, you feel good—and when you feel good, you do good.

September was full of momentum. We began the month by leading a mental health chat for McKesson employees, offering valuable tools for emotional wellness in the workplace. We proudly celebrated six years of dedicated service to our community and to the advancement of minority mental health through our work.

Later in the month, we hosted The Power of Connection: Men’s Mental Health Seminar an event focused on breaking stigma and encouraging dialogue around men’s wellness. The evening featured a dynamic panel, a dinner generously donated by Fogo de Chão Uptown, and a curated bourbon tasting, all designed to foster connection in a welcoming environment.

We closed out September by joining the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for their Family Flourish: A Health Fair for All Ages, where we connected with the West Dallas community and shared our resources with families across generations.
