A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER Howdy!

What a year it's been for The Mind Field, Inc.! We kicked off with a rebrand, brought back our powerful program Mindful Memoirs, hosted the groundbreaking Minority Mental Health Fair in DFW, tackled the tough conversation on combating suicide, and empowered our community with self-defense techniques.

Our achievements and growth have been phenomenal. We're immensely proud of every milestone reached and grateful for your support in our journey. Together, we're making an impact, breaking down barriers, and nurturing our community. Here's to defusing stigma, one mind at a time.

MAY 2023

RELAUNCH AND REBRAND 2023 was a year brimming with growth and community impact for us at The Mind Field, Inc. We embarked on this transformative journey by relaunching with a fresh logo, setting the tone for an exciting year ahead.

In May, we unveiled our premier program, Mindful Memoirs, at the welcoming space of Toasted Kitchen and Coffee, marking a new chapter in our initiatives.

THE MEMOIRS CONTINUE

JUNE 2023

June saw us reaching new heights as our second Mindful Memoirs event drew a record attendance of 40 participants, guided by the inspiring facilitator Muta Wells.

JULY 2023

INAUGURAL MINORITY MENTAL HEALTH FAIR The height of our impact unfolded in July with our groundbreaking Inaugural Minority Mental Health Fair. This momentous event touched the lives of 300 citizens, spotlighting 10 minority therapists, partnering with six community allies, and conducting five enlightening sessions. Topics ranged from navigating the search for a therapist to coping strategies for stress, depression, and burnout.

JULY 2023

The Mind Field, Inc. received a prestigious proclamation from Mayor Eric Johnson, designating July as Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in the city of Dallas. We are so proud of this accomplishment.

At the Inaugural Minority Mental Health Fair our Community Partner, Vowganix, provided free haircuts and styles to all children.

40% of attendees indicated that they cannot afford therapy.

20% of attendees indicated that their current financial situation has a negative impact on their mental health.

RETURN OF MINDFUL MEMOIRS

AUGUST 2023

August we returned to our signature program, Mindful Memoirs hosted at Toasted Coffee + Kitchen. We laughed, we cried, we made new connections. Once again fostering a space for reflection and growth.

SEPTEMBER 2023

SHATTERING THE SILENCE In September, we courageously broached the challenging conversation surrounding suicide in minority communities through our DEFUSED Discussion panel. We spent the day brainstorming ways in which we can better support others and how our community can be more effective in preventing suicide.

OCTOBER 2023

MINDFUL MEMOIRS: SELF-DEFENSE EDITION As October arrived, we concluded the year on a proactive note. In line with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we hosted a self-defense class instructed by Taz Perona, an MMA fighter, promoting safety within our community.

During October, The Mind Field, Inc. was invited to participate in McKesson’s Self-CARE Day. We were able to highlight our services and events to the employees at McKesson.

CONNECTIONS

2023

This year has epitomized the power of connections. We successfully linked 12 therapists and 7 community partners to our community, enabling them to showcase their invaluable services. Their presence emphasized representation in mental health professions, reflecting the diverse demographics of our community.
