Gutter Kitties

gutterkitties-doing a great job caring for and re-homing abandoned cats

The relationship between pets and their owners is amazing. Respect for this bond is at the forefront of our approach to any treatment or decisions that are made while we have the privilege of caring for your pet. The other value we hold dear as a practice is that every animal deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.

With the above two values ingrained in our culture, it is not surprising that, when Danielle from “Gutter Kitties” approached us to see if we were interested in helping her out with her desire to set up a cat rescue and re-homing organisation, we jumped at the chance. The decision to help out was made even easier by the professional, caring, hardworking, responsible and pragmatic approach that Danielle seemed to have, to what is a very hard undertaking. It is a decision we have never regretted.

The work that Gutter Kitties does and the pleasure that families and the rescued cats get from the effort put in is fantastic.

I know that from personal experience, since a Gutter Kitty is the centre of attention in my son’s family. The relationship between my grandchildren and “Bobby” is amazing to see. Bobby is a real gentle caring “dude” who interacts amazingly with the family. What a great life Bobby and the family are going to have together. What a different life Bobby is going to have compared to what he would have had without Gutter Kitties.

If you would like to help Danielle out, donations for Gutter Kitties can be made at the Orewa Vet Centre. Brett Finlayson BVSc MRCVS (Brett the Vet)
