Flooding Concerns Addressed...

Hastings Street Sewer Improvements include new Drainage Options

Upon evaluation several items needed to be addressed related to utilities and roads and drainage concerns on Hastings. Utilities replaced an asbestos cement force main on the west side of Hastings near the YMCA due to leaking problems (photo above). New PVC piping was laid under the road and run 700 feet north to Arundle that now ties into a new force main gravity system. This new utilities relocation combines with the roads and drainage projects with a goal to mitigate flooding issues in that vicinity immediately south of the YMCA. The remaining roads and drainage projects, including utilities, will commence work at and clean up of Lake Blanche. Project completion is scheduled for January. 
