under the wire celebrates remarkable first year with celebration A year ago, Under the Wire was an idea in a Sheffield pub. What began at the Porter Cottage on Sharrow Vale Road has grown into a thriving grassroots community creating opportunities far beyond its original weekly sessions. The thriving event has brought fresh talent and seasoned players together, taken musicians onto festival stages and begun building a booking agency.

Under the Wire has far exceeded the expectations of its founder and it’s weekly Porter Cottage event goes from strength to strength. It has now played key role in everything from Sheffield Food Festival to Tramlines. Now it is marking its first birthday with eight hours of free live entertainment at The Church House in Sheffield city centre. The line-up includes solo acts, bands and

jams showcasing the musicians who have helped turn the original idea into something much bigger. Musician Dan Millson launched Under the Wire with the support of friends and fellow performers just twelve months ago. Dan said: “I thought we were starting a night where musicians could come together and play. I never imagined how quickly people would

embrace it or how much would grow out of it. “With the help of so many friends and musicians, it’s taken on a life of its own. People meet at the sessions, start playing together and create opportunities for each other. Now we’re helping turn those connections into professional bookings.” The anniversary lineup features Alexandra Wild, Harri Larkin, Paul Kenny, Junaina

Rahman and Rose Ingalill, alongside Babies Floating in Space, Slothstalgia and the Under the Wire Showcase Band. The Ryan Taylor Trio Band will round off the evening, with a jam also on the programme. Author Neil Anderson, who has spent the past 15 years documenting Sheffield’s music heritage, said: “I’ve been to Under the Wire sessions and the buzz is fantastic. There

are young musicians playing alongside seasoned professionals and an audience that’s clearly loving it. It is turning into a real movement.” Under the Wire’s first anniversary takes place at The Church House, Sheffield, on Sunday 25 October 2026, from 2.30pm until approximately 10.30pm. Entry is free. Its weekly sessions take place at the Porter Cottage every Wednesday at 8pm.

One of my friends is a really stubborn hardcore raver. She keeps trying to make me rave with her! She just won’t techno for an answer. I broke wind in a lift earlier. It was wrong on so many levels. Phoned the ramblers club - and this bloke just went on and on. Police looking for a man who stabbed six people with knitting needles. He seems to be following some sort of pattern. Went swimming earlier, I had a wee in the deep end. Lifeguard blew his whistle so loud I nearly fell in! There’s only one thing that makes me throw up. A dartboard on the ceiling! I saw a group of neighbours jogging past my house last night and it really inspired me to get up and close the curtains.

vulcan’s halloween howl!

News, Information and Advice more tram works announced hang The next stage of the £110 million investment work to improve the Supertram network will be taking place later this month. The essential works will replace worn rails, switches and crossings – also known as points – near Hillsborough Interchange and Shalesmoor tram stops. These are the final planned works in 2026, following the successful renewal of over 2.6km of track this year. The investment is part of the wider programme to upgrade the trams, track, control systems and power supplies, in addition to the recently opened Tram Train station at Magna. Work will be carried out from Saturday 24 October to Saturday 31 October, affecting part of the Blue and Yellow route tram services with a replacement bus service running. Preparatory works will also be taking place overnight on Friday 23 October, but these will not impact tram services. Services are expected to return to their normal route and timetable from start of service on Sunday 1 November. Melanie Corcoran, SYMCA’s Executive Director of Transport, said: “We’ve invested £36 million this year in the seven areas of track renewal works, including the major project to replace the Delta junction in the city centre, which finished ahead of schedule this summer. The latest works are the last rail replacement project of 2026 and by scheduling the works over the school holiday, when the tram network is quieter, we aim to keep disruption to passengers and road users to a minimum.” Changes to Blue and Yellow route tram services - Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October During the works, the Supertram network will run a revised timetable, and services will operate as follows: • Blue route tram services will run between Shalesmoor and Herdings Park , operating at the normal frequency of up to every 12 minutes • Purple route tram services will be replaced by the Blue route between Cathedral and Herdings Park. • Yellow route tram services will run between Cathedral and Meadowhall Interchange, operating at the normal

frequency of up to every 12 minutes • Tram Train services will run as normal Customers can find out about the works and the impact on tram services at travelsouthyorkshire. com/Hillsborough. Alternative travel options Dedicated tram replacement bus service  Dedicated tram replacement bus services, BL2 and YE1 will operate to help people make their journeys between Saturday 24 October and Saturday 31 October inclusive. The BL2 service will run between Malin Bridge and Shalesmoor, where customers can connect with tram services, serving limited bus stops located near all the affected tram stops along the route. The YE1 service will run between Middlewood and Cathedral, where customers can connect with tram services. All valid tram and multimodal tickets will be accepted for travel on the BL2 and YE1 replacement bus services. Customers can buy their ticket in advance using the TSY Mobile app, or from a tram conductor. Longer journey times are likely, particularly during peak periods. To minimise disruption, we recommend those travelling in the area plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys. A number of road closures are required to allow the works to take place near Hillsborough Interchange and Shalesmoor tram stop. This will mean that general traffic and local bus services will be disrupted. Signed diversions will be in place. Local buses will continue to serve Hillsborough Interchange where possible, but there may be some stand changes to accommodate diverted bus services, and some services may use alternative nearby bus stops. Further information about the bus service diversions, including temporary stand changes at Hillsborough, is available on our dedicated webpage travelsouthyorkshire.com/ Hillsborough. Anyone travelling in the area throughout the works should allow extra time for their journey as the road closures may cause congestion at busier times.

up your hosepipe!

As gardens in Yorkshire and the Humber are tidied up and hosepipes are put away for the autumn, WaterSafe Register is urging households to store them properly. Water left sitting in a hosepipe can become a breeding ground for bacteria, including Legionella, particularly in warm conditions. After this summer’s hot, dry weather, many hoses will now be coiled away with water still inside. If droplets from a contaminated hose are accidentally inhaled, they can lead to Legionnaires’ disease, a rare but potentially serious form of pneumonia. There is also a risk to the home’s internal drinking water supply. Hosepipes are often exposed to dirt and chemicals, and if an outdoor tap isn’t protected against backflow, contaminated water can be drawn back into the drinking water plumbing. Drinking water in the UK is among the safest in the world, with 99.97% of tests meeting strict standards, according to the Drinking Water Inspectorate. Last year, more than half of customer tap water samples in which bacteria were detected were linked directly to consumers’ distribution systems.[i] Hosepipe safety advice Most hosepipe-related risks can be reduced by following a few simple precautions. Do: • Turn off your outside tap and disconnect the hose • Store hoses off the ground, somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Don’t: • Drink from it, or let children or pets drink from it • Leave water sitting inside it • Leave it in ponds, paddling pools, buckets or watering cans • Leave it lying on the ground. Before you use it again, flush it through with clean tap water and fit a self-closing control, such as a trigger spray gun, to avoid accidental use.

learn cpr older renters report new report released advisors. - restart a Atoday by Independent Forced to make cutbacks Age, the national The report shows that, for older people with LHA rates frozen, heart day charity in financial hardship, increasing numbers A cardiac arrest patient in Yorkshire is nearly twice as likely to survive if a bystander steps in to perform CPR, according to the latest figures from Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Last year, bystanders intervened in 1,972 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests across the region. Their immediate actions successfully contributed to restarting 643 hearts on the scene, leading to 132 long-term survivors (6.7%). By contrast, out of 892 cardiac arrests where no bystander CPR was provided intervened, 33 people (3.7%) survived past 30 days posthospital discharge*. To build on these lifesaving figures, an army of 800 off-duty staff and volunteers from Yorkshire Ambulance Service, will visit 168 secondary schools across the region - including 39 in South Yorkshire - to train 35,000 students in CPR for Restart a Heart Day on Friday 16 October. The event is being backed by cardiac arrest survivors and the everyday heroes who stepped up to save their lives. Herbie Colton was just 15 when his dad, Nigel, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at their home in Sheffield. Having learned CPR through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Herbie carried out continuous chest compressions for around eight minutes until the ambulance crew arrived. Paramedics used a defibrillator to restart Nigel’s heart, and he went on to make a good recovery. Nine years later, Nigel continues to do well. Herbie said: “My dad would not be here today if I hadn’t known what to do. I don’t think I realised at the time just how serious it was. I was simply grateful that I had received some training and knew I needed to start CPR straight away.” This year’s campaign theme, ‘Watch it. Learn it. Pass it On.’ highlights how one person learning CPR can help others to become better prepared in the ultimate medical emergency.

reveals the devastating effect of the over 2-year Housing Benefit freeze on older private renters. The charity’s analysis shows that almost 7 in 10 (69%) older renters who receive Housing Benefit don’t get enough to cover their rent, so must make up the shortfall from their already-low incomes. Independent Age is calling on the UK Government to unfreeze Local Housing Allowance (LHA) in this month’s Autumn Budget. LHA, the mechanism that decides how much Housing Benefit is paid depending on where you live, is supposed to cover the lowest 30% of the market, but has been frozen since April 2024, and for 8 out of the last 15 years. Independent Age unveils that, since the most recent freeze, average rents have risen rapidly. Data the charity has analysed shows that, on average, one bed homes have increased in price by over 18% in that time. It also conducted representative polling of older private renters, which showed that twothirds of those in receipt of Housing Benefit had faced a rent increase in the previous 12 months, half of whom faced an increase of more than £50 a month. The report exposes the effects of the freeze on LHA using interviews with older renters and the charity’s own helpline

of renters are forced to make up shortfalls from fixed, low, pension incomes. Six in 10 older renters in receipt of Housing Benefit reported cutting back on essentials in order to pay their rent, such as: • Heating, which 27% cut back on. • Socialising, which 21% cut back. • Food, which 14% cut back on. Independent Age advisors have spoken to renters who would only buy a small amount of basic food to get by on rather than not meet their rent. Some renters said they wouldn’t use their heating. One renter said that – despite living alone - they had to stop going to a weekly social club because they couldn’t afford the £7 cost alongside their rent. Another said that their rent had increased by £200 since the latest freeze. Joanna Elson CBE, Chief Executive at Independent Age said: “Too many older renters are being faced with unimaginable stress and harmful cutbacks as a result of the freeze on Local Housing Allowance. Local Housing Allowance must be uprated so it matches at least the lowest 30% of the market at this year’s Budget, and the UK Government must commit to keeping it in line every year.

The unique and loud “howl” of a Vulcan aircraft is set to be the Halloween attraction with a difference this year at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Vulcan to the Sky Trust, the charity behind preserving Britain’s famous Vulcan XH558 to inspire a new generation of aviation enthusiasts, is hosting a family-friendly day for visitors to see and hear the historic aircraft in all its glory on Saturday 31 October as part of its first ever Halloween Howl event. The XH558 is famous for its distinctive “howl”; a sound produced by its four Rolls-Royce Olympus turbojets which each produce around 17,000–20,000 lb of thrust. During a stationary engine ground run on the day, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the XH558 under power from a designated viewing area at the engine test bay. Craig Shepherd, CEO of Vulcan to the Sky Trust, said: “Halloween Howl is a genuinely different event for families to enjoy together. We’ve worked hard to make experiencing the Vulcan under power as accessible and affordable as possible, while still putting on a packed day of entertainment and activities. And, of course, there is the sound. There is nothing quite like hearing XH558’s four Olympus engines come to life, and we’re hoping Halloween Howl will deliver one of the longest Vulcan Howls we’ve seen, with the team aiming to break the one-minute mark. That would be an incredible experience for everyone watching For us, this event is about bringing people together to experience an extraordinary piece

of British engineering, while helping us continue our work to preserve XH558 and inspire future generations.” Alongside the Vulcan, visitors can expect to see English Electric Canberra WK163, a classic vehicle display, character appearances, Halloween activities, entertainment throughout, stalls and a range of food and drink. Tickets are priced at £30 for adults, with children aged 5–15 able to attend for just £2.50, subject to a maximum of two child tickets per adult ticket. In addition, £1 from every adult ticket sold will be donated to the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum. Foam earplugs will be provided to all visitors for the engine run, with hearing protection particularly important for children aged 5–15. Branded Vulcan XH558 over-ear hearing defenders will also be available to purchase from the Vulcan XH558 store. Gates at Doncaster Sheffield Airport will open at 9am, with the event beginning at 10am. Last admission is 10.30am, and the event finishes at 2pm. The exact timing of the Vulcan engine run will be confirmed closer to the event, with final timings and joining information issued to ticket holders in advance. Visitors are encouraged to book in advance as capacity is limited. Halloween Howl will take place predominantly on the airport’s terminal apron, giving the event a distinctive setting unlike a conventional Halloween attraction. sensoria festival is back for 2026 This year’s Sensoria Festival is inspired by the 50th anniversary of a record which occupies a genuinely unique place in musical history. The beloved cult Moog synth album, Mother Earth’s Plantasia, by pioneering electronic composer Mort Garson, will be the launching point for Plantasia Collective, an immersive new performance of warm analogue electronica and botanical inspiration, reimagining Garson’s enduring work for today and for Sheffield. Running from 22-25 October 2026, the annual Sensoria Festival presents a unique mix of live performances, film screenings, installations and exhibitions, as well as music and film industry activity,

at venues across Sheffield, including the former John Lewis building, Drama Studio and Trafalgar Warehouse. Sensoria weaves its way into surprising and intriguing accessible spaces, to create unmissable, intimate, oneoff events for audiences. The festival shares and celebrates the city’s thirst for musical discovery and its enduringly inspirational past. Created to be played to houseplants, Mother Earth’s Plantasia found its audience over time. Initially given away with each purchase of a houseplant from the Mother Earth shop in Los Angeles or with mattresses from Sears, Plantasia’s endearingly warm early analogue electronica has since attracted a devoted

following over half a century. 24 October: Plantasia Collective - Musically directed by award-winning composers Lou Barnell and Zebedee C. Budworth, Plantasia Collective will reimagine Plantasia for the present day, delivering a unique evening of analogue sound, collective creation and botanical inspiration. Drawing on the unpredictability of analogue electronic instruments, Barnell and Budworth will use Plantasia as a starting point for exploration, blurring the boundaries between composition and improvisation. Date: 24 October 2026 from 6-7pm; Tickets: https://see. tickets/plantasiacollective Venue: Drama Studio, The University of Sheffield.

Jo Wingate, Director of Sensoria, said, “Sheffield is world famous for its music and we’re always aiming to mirror the city’s independent spirit with each new edition of Sensoria. The Plantasia theme reflects that we’re also a green city and celebrates half a century of Mort Garson’s cult classic electronic album.” 22-25 October: Hothouse - To celebrate Plantasia, Sheffield’s modernist former Cole Brothers building will host Hothouse, a calming, colourful garden of six interactive plant sculptures, each 2.5 metres tall. Brought to life through movement, light, air and the pioneering large-scale interactive robotic technology of creative studio Air Giants, Hothouse is free, for all ages to come into the garden and engage with the beautiful, other-worldly botanical

specimens. 23 October: Plaid - A whole range of Live AV performances across the festival will include Warp Records’ ambient electronica duo Plaid. An enduring side project of Sheffield techno outfit The Black Dog, Plaid’s Andy Turner and Ed Handley will come to Sheffield’s new Hangr warehouse venue with its spectacular thirty-metre overhead LED screen. Leedsbased NikNak will bring her distinctive turntablism and immersive compositions. The festival’s opening night also features a WarpVision video package, an audiovisual journey through the archives of the iconic Sheffield-born label. 24 October: Turntablism and Tapes - Reel Steel and Zaron (Interworld) mix vinyl film scores and VHS cinema live for the big screen. Followed by an

immersive live set combining zoetrope, sampler and tape loops from Sculpture. A unique evening of live audio-visual performances, crossing music, cinema, and analogue media. 22-25 October: In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats brings an interactive element to Sensoria. This VR experience drops you into the acid house rave scene of 1989. Booking slots are available daily during the festival. SensoriaPro The industry-focused strand of the Festival runs concurrently with the main event, bringing together leading composers, filmmakers, music publishers, agents and music supervisors for a full day of insirational events, panels, discussion and collaboration and creative music and moving image magic.

Will Sarah be sent down for murdering Theo? Idris fills Alya in on his plans to buy some unused council land and employs her to act as his solicitor. Daniel learns that the unused land is about to be sold to a property developer – unaware that it’s Idris. Daniel determines to put a stop to it. Following his recent feud with Leanne, Nick informs Sam of his decision to sell the business. Sam points out that the Bistro is Nick’s livelihood and he loves it. Emmerdale: Belle’s victim liaison officer visits with unwelcome news: her abusive ex-husband Tom will soon be out of prison. Rhona, who has her own experience of abuse from a partner, helps her take control of her feelings and Belle feels more optimistic. Kim is still worried about Joe and continues to hide the fact that Baby Tate is being cared for by Graham in an out-of-the-way cottage until they believe Joe is ready to be a father. Having been paid by Joe to gather evidence to destroy Caleb and Ruby, Sadie continues in her plot to drive a wedge between the couple. After Robert’s high-stakes poker game went awry, £100k in winnings went missing. It’s a stressful time for all involved, and it’s not long before Aaron and Sarah head out to interrogate the most obvious suspects. Eastenders: Craig sends Denzel’s photos to Kim and Howie, leaving Denzel and the family horrified. Max eventually agrees to help Cindy financially, but her suspicions are raised when she finds a lipstick at his flat. It leaves Cindy determined to find out who his mystery woman is. rovers lose at leicester resilient blades bounce back in bristol

Rovers fell to a tight 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, despite grabbing a late goal to half the deficit at the King Power Stadium. Rovers instantly looked to get forward in the opening few minutes, as a clearance from Neill Byrne landed at the feet on Leon Ayinde, who did well to bring the ball and dribble into the box, but the pass into the middle was cut out by the Leicester backline. Rovers continued to look the most threatening of the two sides, with a 10th minute free-kick into the box from George Broadbent posing a real problem for the Foxes, with a flurry of shots and blocks keeping fans off their seats before it was eventually cleared for a corner. 25 minutes in, Tommy Simkin came under his first bit of pressure, as a looping ball landed on the head

of 6 ft 6 Harry Souttar, whose header forced a low save from the Rovers goalkeeper. It was end-to-end stuff as the half hour mark passsed. Simkin had a very busy final couple of minutes, as he was forced to make himself big following a close-range shot from Kamari Doyle. The goalkeeper couldn’t do much about John Lundstram’s long-range thunderbolt in added time though, with his volley flying into the back of the net. Leicester opened the second half with a threatening chance as Lundstram closed in, pulling the ball back across the face of goal as he searched for a teammate, but Gotts was on hand to clear. Hanlan was brought on to replace Hutchinson on the 57th minute. However, Leicester doubled their

lead just three minutes later as Doyle netted in a curling effort that landed in the bottom corner of the net - far from Simkin’s reach. With a host of fresh attacking talent on the pitch, Rovers continued to fight for a goal of their own, and were soon rewarded. In the 84th minute, some brilliant footwork from Hanlan out wide allowed him to fizz a ball into the box, and while a Leicester player attempted to take the ball off May’s feet, his toe poke ended up in the back of the net. The hosts reacted quickly though, and minutes later they thought they had added third as Will Alves fired a powerful shot towards goal, but it thundered off the bar and went out of play. Rovers kept the pressure on a nervy Leicester backline, but were unable to find the second.

millers slip to defeat

with a well-taken second goal. Highbury Stadium has not been a happy hunting ground for the Millers, who have yet to taste victory there, and so it proved again when Millers head coach Alex Bruce was left to pick the bones out of his side’s latest reversal

to the Cod Army. Bruce handed Hamish Douglas his first league start since February while Jamie Jellis returned to the starting XI following a spell out with injury. Tom Bradshaw was asked to lead the Rotherham line alongside hot-shot Paul Mullin.

minutes. By now Jubilee were in total control and a 20 yard shot from Danny Barnsley made it 3-0 after 29 minutes. Despite the hosts scoring on 43 minutes the half ended with Jubilee well on top. Half time: Denaby Main Development 1 - Jubilee Sports 3. The second half saw Jubilee again dominating the game and a through ball by Jack Shaw on 51 minutes allowed Danny Barnsley to get his second of the game. MInutes later a foul in the penalty area gave Danny Barnsley

a chance to complete his hat trick but it wasn’t taken. Frantic defending by the home side was punished on 68 minutes, when an own goal made it 5-1 to Jubilee. In the 89th minute Danny Barnes scored from close range to get his hat trick and seal a 6-1 victory for Jubilee Sports.

The Millers were second best for much of the first 45 and despite a brief rally following Rooney’s opener early in the second half, Coughlan extinguished any hopes of a Rotherham fightback

Another good performance on the road saw Jubilee Sports triumph against Denaby Main Development. Danny Barnsley hit the post on 8 minutes, only for George Rudd to score from the rebound. Luke Herriot pulled off a good save from a free kick to keep Denaby at bay and a cross from Danny Barnsley was netted by George Rudd on 26

United recorded a fine win on the road after a 1-0 success against Bristol City. A terrific finish from Oliver Arblaster after just five minutes settled matters, with the Blades executing the perfect away performance to deservedly take all three points back to South Yorkshire. Chris Wilder made five changes for a third Championship game in eight days with McGuinness, Burrows, Arblaster, Phillips and Ayew replacing the suspended Choudhury, McCallum, Rothwell, Peck and Bamford. The Blades were given an early scare when Japhet

Tanganga’s header fell to Yū Hirakawa but as he ran through on the angle his weak effort was stopped by Michael Cooper. United then quickly settled and opened the scoring in fine style on five minutes. Cooper’s free-kick was sent into a crowded area and once it was headed clear ARBLASTER was quick to react to initially control and then score with a fine right-footed finish into the far corner from 20 yards. The Blades started to control possession and looked lively in the final third. Tahith Chong’s deep cross saw McGuinness compete, and Liam

Kitching then sent an effort goalwards which was deflected wide of the far post. Wilder’s side were looking dominant and went close again on 27 minutes when Phillips’ cross caused some panic in the area, ending with Kitching again going for goal but once more his effort deflected wide. United remained largely in control with the home fans showing their frustration as the Blades went into the interval in front. The second half started largely in the same way as the first, with United making the running without any side creating any clear openings. On

65 minutes, Burrows put his body on the line to make a huge block after a scramble that saw City sub Jed Wallace shoot towards goal. From the following corner, Rio Cardines’ delivery was headed over at the near post by Dom Ballard. Wilder made a double change with 20 minutes remaining introducing Bamford and McCallum for Ayew and Chong. The home side upped the tempo without creating any chances, whilst United responded when a Phillips corner caused problems, with Tanganga and McCallum both seeing shots blocked. Soon after a cross from

Ben Brereton Díaz was met by the head of Tanganga with Sam Tickle making a fine save low down. Wilder freshened things up with Peck, Romelle Donovan and Ryan Oné all introduced from the bench. It was Oné who was presented with a chance on 87 minutes when Donovan’s cross into the area found Cannon who saw an effort blocked, the ball then fell to the Scot who fired over the bar. With nine minutes added at the end of the 90, Oné saw a header from a Kitching cross held as the Blades comfortably saw out the remaining minutes.

the left flank and flashed a shot wide of the target. Having shown a desire to take the game to the visitors, Wednesday got their noses in front with 38 minutes on the clock when Bannan exchanged passes with Keillor-Dunn, got the return, and slotted a left-footed effort, via the aid of a deflection, into the bottom corner from inside the penalty area. Wednesdayites had barely had chance to catch their collective breath before they were up on their feet celebrating a second goal less than 60 seconds later. A looping header from Wimbledon defender Steven Sessegnon landed at the feet of teammate Andy Yiadom, but he miscontrolled his touch on the halfway line, paving the way for

Keillor-Dunn to race through clear on goal, and he made no mistake, firing a composed effort past Bursik. And with half-time looming, the Owls still had time for a third before the break when Gray, after being picked out by Jamal Lowe, turned inside the penalty area and fired a shot towards goal that was too hot for Bursik to handle, finding the top corner to ensure Pedersen’s troops went into the break with a commanding lead. After finishing the first half with a flourish, Wednesday added a fourth 11 minutes after the restart when a peach of a cross from Reece James from the left picked out Slattery on the edge of the six-yard box and he slotted a composed, first-time finish past Bursik. With Wednesday in a

commanding position, Pedersen made a triple change just past the hour mark, introducing Gabriel Otegbayo, Ali Al-Hamadi and Mitchell in place of Liam Cooper, Bannan and Jamal Lowe. Pedersen turned to his bench again with 74 minutes on the clock, introducing Max Lowe, allowing him to make his highly anticipated return from injury. He replaced Di’Shon Bernard, who stored more valuable minutes under his belt as he continues to get back into a consistent rhythm. There was still time for Wednesday to add a fifth to their tally, and KeillorDunn grabbed his second of the afternoon with time running out, slotting home a composed finish from the left channel of the penalty area after being slipped in by substitute Kieran Morrison.

owls hit five past dons Wednesday extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with an excellent 5-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at Hillsborough. After first half goals from Bannan, Keillor-Dunn and Gray had put the Owls in a strong position at the break, they added to their tally in the second half through efforts from Slattery and KeillorDunn’s second of the game. Henrik Pedersen made three changes to his starting line-up following the 2-2 draw at Huddersfield Town. Joe Lumley, who was unavailable due to a rib injury, was replaced by Ashley Maynard-Brewer in goal, while Jaden Heskey and Keillor-Dunn came in for Billy Mitchell and Kieran Morrison, respectively.

Keen to inject some speed and zip into their play, Wednesday started on the front foot and forced a save out of Wimbledon goalkeeper Josef Bursik with just five minutes on the clock when KeillorDunn unleashed a fierce shot from a tight angle after being slipped in by Slattery. The Owls continued to apply plenty of early pressure and twice went close through loanee Gray, who first fired wide from the edge of the penalty area before latching onto a Yan Valery cross and firing over the crossbar from inside the penalty area. Wimbledon had their first chance of the contest with 26 minutes on the clock when Aron Sasu got in behind Wednesday’s defence on
