South Yorkshire Police have recently been made aware of a series of courier fraud scams where fraudsters have been in possession of a list of victims and their contact details, and the majority of these victims are sadly, elderly. There are many courier fraud scams out there at the moment, and these are becoming more sophisticated and realistic day by day. SYP are now encouraging people to be aware of courier fraud and highlighting some of the signs to look out for if something doesn’t seem right.

In most cases, courier fraud occurs when people are contacted by scammers claiming to be from their bank, the police or other law enforcement authorities.
