United are in the hat for fifth round draw of this season’s FA Cup following a dramatic late equaliser at The Racecourse Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Oli McBurnie’s first-minute header looked to have put United in control of the tie against the National League leaders, only for Wrexham to score three times after the break, with Paul Mullin putting them in front late on after Daniel Jebbison’s red card, but John Egan was again United’s hero scoring in the fifth of seven minutes of stoppage-time to secure a replay next month. Boss Heckingbottom made five changes from the team that beat Hull City for the clash in Wales, with Davies, Basham, McBurnie, Osborn and McAtee all recalled to the starting XI. Youngsters Sachdev and Marsh were named amongst the substitutes. United got off to the perfect start having won a first minute corner. Doyle’s delivery was inviting, MCBURNIE got away from his mark and powered home a diving header at the near post.
Danny Schofield admitted the manner of Rovers’ 4-1 defeat to Mansfield Town was tough to take. Rovers conceded four poor goals at the One Call Stadium, with the timing of the first and third in particular damaging to their efforts. And head coach Schofield pointed to those as the decisive factors in the defeat.
“It was a tough result and a difficult one to take. The manner in which we started the game was poor - to concede after 30 seconds in the manner we did was poor.

The long throws of Tozer would prove to be a regular occurrence and after Mullin had challenged Davies, O’Connor fired over. At the other end, McBurnie fashioned space for McAtee, but the Manchester City loanee saw his shot deflected behind. On 22 minutes, McBurnie was again involved in the build-up, this time Jebbison powered past O’Connor only to be denied by former Blades stopper Howard. Bogle required some treatment for a facial injury picked up in an accidental clash with Tozer, who continued to launch his missile like throws, but as the first half progressed United defended manfully
“I think all four goals we conceded were poor. Teams aren’t having to do that much to create that chance.
There’s no great football it’s just the first and second contacts and the awareness of runners into the box that are costing us. That’s the disappointing thing.
“When we scored we were fully in the game and in the ascendancy to get back into it. I had full belief in the changes that I made to impact it and they did. For the first 15 minutes of the second half we were in the ascendancy and we scored.
“But the third goal we conceded and the manner
