DONCASTER BEER FESTIVAL HEADS TO THE DOME! More than 100 real ales and traditional ciders will be on offer, along with live music and food at the 27th Doncaster Beer Festival. The Doncaster and District Campaign for Real Ale, is staging the three day festival which will take place from Thursday June 7 to Saturday June 9 2018 at the Dome. This year’s event, which is being held in association with Doncaster Conferences, Catering and Events, will be bigger and better than ever before. The entire sports hall has been taken over to ensure there’s plenty of room

for the bars, food stalls and stage. Ian Jones, Chairman of Doncaster and District CAMRA said: “We are looking forward to serving real ale in a real glass at this year’s festival and all of our beers will be served at the correct temperature, thanks to newly obtained chilling equipment. “There will be new beers from new breweries for our guests to sample and also some new brews from a few ‘old favourites’. Live music will feature on the Friday and Saturday, with the Groom Lake Fugitives kicking things off on

Friday night, followed by the Smoking Beagles performing an ‘early slot’ on Saturday evening.” The Continental Bottle Beer Bar will feature beers from: Belgium, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway and USA, including Trappist, Lambic, Wheat Beer, Fruit Beer and Pilsner styles. Festival Ales will include ‘Doncastaire Dome IPA’ brewed specially for the event by staff from the Dome using the brewing facilities of Aire Heads Brewery, Goole. Chris Hone from Doncaster Conferences, Catering

and Events, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming beer lovers to this great three day festival at The Dome and will no doubt attract lots of people to the town. “The following for real ales and ciders just keeps on growing and we look forward to showcasing lots of varieties throughout the event.” The event is free for CAMRA members when they show their membership card. Tickets for the event for non-members can be bought on the door at the festival costing £2 per session, apart from Friday evening which costs £3. A

Festival Glass will be needed at all sessions costing £3 but this can be reused if attending more than one session. Guests who join CAMRA at the Festival will receive all the usual benefits plus some Festival Specials, free admission and a free pint. The event starts on Thursday June 7 and runs from 5pm until 11pm and then Friday June 8 runs from 11am until 11pm and Saturday 9 June runs from 11am until 11pm. Further details can be found on the beer festival website: doncasterbeerfestival. org.uk Facebook or Twitter.
