SHEFFIELD READY TO GO OUT OF THIS WORLD Prepare for ghouls, robogadgets and hats with white rabbits as Out Of This World takes over Sheffield City Centre this Sunday 23 October. With this years’ line up in the bag, people can now start planning how they’ll take in all the best sights of the strange, spooky, stupendous and supernatural and put the finishing touches to their costumes. Now in its third year, the festival celebrating all things out of the ordinary has plenty of surprises in store, including comic book characters, moviethemed cars, zombies, puppets, live music, fairground rides and even a giant dinosaur.
The event will once again be divided into three zones on the themes of sci-fi, magic and horror. Sci-fi lovers are in for a treat with displays from Sheffield Robotics and interactive daleks, plus a whole host of characters including Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers, the Arrow Squad, and plenty of superheroes and villains such as batman, Flash and Iron Man roaming around the centre. If you love cars and sci-fi this is the place to be, you’ll see high spec, top speed vehicles on display with Kitt from Nightrider, DeLorean from Back to the Future, Bumble Bee and Barricade from Transformers and the A-Team van. There’s even
a zombie laser shooting range to test out your apocalypse survival skills. For the first time the grandeur of the Town Hall will be taken over by sci-fi, gaming and comics. Collectors will have their pick of the best and rare as a huge selection of comics will be available from Lucky Target comics including the likes of DC, Marvel and many more. Favourites Magic Carpet Theatre are back and guarantee to bring, illusion, spectacle, comedy and amazement. Onlookers will be amazed at Dr Diabolo’s incredible Sideshow, The Fire King blasting flames high in to the air, Ramona the Gypsy Queen walking up a ladder
of razor-sharp swords, Miss Elastina twisting and contorting around solid metal blades or Escapo attempting to escape from solid steel chains.
