ThisistherealityattheHenbury andSouthmeadFamilyPrac�ce, Bristol’sfirstGPPrac�cethathasa

gardenopenforthebenefitofits pa�entsandcommunity.Throughout thewinterresidents,doctors,staff,and crea�veshavebeenworkingtogether todevelopthe‘GlencoyneWellbeing Garden’andtosowtheseedsfora greenerfuture.Thevisionusesholis�c gardeningprac�ceswithpeopleatits heart.Theworkinggroupare establishingplantsthatencourage wildlifeandplanninggardening sessionstoofferinter-genera�onal learning.

Alldressedupandnowhereto grow?WiththeEquinoxhavingpassed newshootsarenowgrowingatthe GlencoyneWellbeingGarden.We wouldliketoinviteyoutocomeand enjoythelongerdayswithus.The gardenisopenonThursdays2-4pm forvolunteers,althoughalterna�ve �mescanbearrangedifthisdoesn’t con�nuedonpage3>

Sincethentheteamhasbeen busyrespondingtothecomments whichcamethroughonthe planningportal.Withinputfromthe ArnsideandGlencoyne Regenera�onProjectgroup,we havebeenfinalisingdetailssuchas theenergystrategyforthenew homes,thedesignofthebalconies andcourtyards,andwhetherwe canplantmoretreesinthelocal area.Theseresponseswillbesent

backinthenextfewmonthsandwe canthenlookforwardtothesignoff fromBristolCityCouncil.Watchthis spacefornewsofafuture commi�eedate!

It’sspringanddownatTheRanch we’reseeingmoreofthewildlife fromBadock’sWoodthatwe’reso blessedtoshareourmagnificentsite with-foxes,badgers,rabbits, squirrels,birds,and,ofcourse, hedgehogs!We’renowge�ngready towelcomeourspikyli�lefriends backfromhiberna�on.

Lastyear,thefabulousForest SchoolgaveTheRanchitsfirst hedgehoghousesothechildrencould provideahomeforSouthmead’s pricklyli�leresidents.Tomakeitcosy andinvi�ngthechildrenadded newspaperandleavesinsideforthe hedgehogstosnuggleupinto,and paintedtheoutsideofthehousewith

thename‘Mr&MrsHedgehogs

House'incamouflagecolourssoit wouldfitnicelywithinthescenery, underthetrees,behindthebushes, downbythestream,atthebackof oursitewherehedgehogs frequentlycross.Hedgehogs hibernatefromNovembertoMarch andsowe'renotonlyge�ng preparedtomeetourpricklymates againbutalsocleaninguptheir originalhouseandaddingtwonew ones.

Ahedgehog’shouseisn'tjust forChristmas,whileitprovidesa safeplaceforthemtosnuggleup andsnoozeduringtheirwinter hiberna�onit'salsosomewherefor themtosleepduringthedaywhen they'reupandaboutagain.We can’twaittoseethem!
