WELCOME
It is with pleasure I/we welcome Beth Lyons, to Mayflower Bit scary moving from the big family home and down sizing, however, every good wish to Beth, as she settles in to her new home and starts the next chapter.
Also may I take this opportunity to welcome Vicki Delioglanis to Mayflower. Vicki is Mayflower’s new receptionist and trust settling in to her new role is easy and stress free.
GRANT STREET & CENTRE ROAD PEDESTRIAN GATES
Thank you for your feedback regarding the installing of keypads to Grant Street and Centre Road gates, for additional security. Positives and Negatives were submitted to Corporate, as per your suggestions.

HALCYON (NEXT DOOR) FRUIT & VEGETABLES MARKET
As mentioned previously, the Halcyon Market is a low-cost fruit and vegetable market, operated by Fruition Projects and HousingFirst. The produce is delivered fresh from the Yarra Valley Farms with prices starting at 50c. Mayflower residents are invited to Halcyon communal lounge area to purchase fruit and vegetables, 10-11am every second Friday. Next market day, 7 March, 2025.
DISCUSSION GROUP
Discussion Group, Wednesday, 5 March at 2.30pm in the Harry Williams room. This month a presentation from Palliative Care Victoria to discuss ‘Advance Care Planning’. Not a

HAPPY HOUR WITH ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment also returns, Thursday, 20 March at 2pm, Harry Williams Room. This month we have the “Sonantinas” performing. Three bright, talented ladies, singing. Please RSVP prior to the day, with $10 to cover costs of entertainers and refreshments.
CLICHÉ CLOTHING
Cliché clothing will be here Tuesday 11, March at 2pm, lounge area. Women’s fashion including jackets, tops, blouses, cardigans, jumpers, trousers, jeans, skirts and more.
MAINTENANCE
Please be advised, floor vinyl in the ladies amenities, near entrance to the gym is being replaced and amenities will be closed from 3 March until 4pm, 7 March. Shower room in the pool area will also be done at the same time and will be out of action.
At the time of writing, the Harry Williams room painting should be completed. Then again …
COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
The Residents Committee meet this month and will then distribute Nomination forms for your consideration. As mentioned last month, Residents Committee meet bi-monthly and new and old residents, are encouraged to nominate.

FOR YOUR DIARIES
For your entertainment, here’s some exciting news. I have been fortunate in booking Denis Walter to visit and perform Friday, June 20. For anyone not famliar with Denis, he is a radio presenter, but more importantly, a baritone singer, recording artist and media personality. Exciting. Stay tuned for further information. In May, we have Peter Sullivan entertaining. Peter was Music Director for TV Channel 9, plays piano, ukulele, double bass, as well as teaching music. Extremely talented and entertaining. April we have a presentation by Rageism Beauty, applying makeup. Makeovers, one on one consultations, the lot. Should be fun.
EQUIP FOR LIFE
Starts back Friday, 14 March. ‘Equip for Life’ is a Healthy Ageing & Wellness Program with health professionals. Number of residents joined up last year to take part in the on-site program.
FOOTY TIPPING
Last reminder about the Footy Tipping. Even if you are not into footy, it is fun and even more fun, if you are the winner at the end. All you need to do is cross off the team, you think will lose. The forms will be delivered to your letter box weekly. Write your name at the top and place in the Footy Tipping box in the lounge. Every Monday morning, Peter, John (and myself) will check and display points scored, along side your name. Easy as.
RETIREMENT LIVING HUB

2025 FEDERAL ELECTIONS
2025 Federal Elections will be held on or before 17 May, 2025 to elect members of the 48th Parliament of Australia.
We are hoping to have mobile voting services available here, however, will advise when details come to hand.
