A bner C hou Dear Parents, Students and Friends Graduation is a momentous occasion, commemorating not only achievement and commission, but also the hard work and sacrifice of so many that made this moment possible. This year particularly accentuates such labors given the challenges of COVID. We are thankful for parents who entrusted us with their students and supported us in their prayers. We are thankful for faculty and staff who tirelessly worked to still yet invest in students’ lives in spite of the circumstances. We are thankful for students who demonstrated resilience and resolve in persevering through the challenges of this year. We are most thankful to God whose good hand has been upon this institution, worked in our lives, and allowed us to arrive at this moment. This year demonstrates with the greatest clarity that the occasion of graduation is ever only by the grace of God. He is always faithful, and this moment yet again proves that His faithfulness is the only explanation for everything in our lives. All glory belongs to Him. May we remember these truths as we send another generation into the world to champion Christ and Scripture. Greetings to everyone. My name is Dr. Tom Halstead. For over 30 years I have been the academic chair (and now dean) of Biblical Studies. It has been a distinct privilege to oversee this school. In our undergraduate department we have six different emphases ranging from Languages and Theology to Biblical Counseling, Global Studies, and Christian Education.

We also have a graduate program in Biblical Counseling called MABC. Over the years our school has seen over 35 graduating classes with approximately 1,500 Bible undergraduates, plus another 500 MABC graduates, walking across the stage to receive their diplomas.

There have been some exceptional students in these graduating classes who have gone on to become pastors, biblical counselors, Christian educators, missionaries, and even a university president (Abner Chou). This year is no exception, and we have some terrific students who will leave here and make an impact in their world for Christ. We are excited to see what God will do with them all. May our Lord richly bless you, graduates!

Hello, I’m Dr. Jordan Morton, and I am privileged to serve as dean of the Pearl C. Schaffer School of Education at The Master’s University. With two bachelor’s degree programs in Liberal Studies, two post-bachelor teaching credential programs, and (in partnership with the School of Online Learning) an online master’s degree program, our school is well-suited to carry out our mission “to equip and empower effective educators.” Our graduates are in demand, recruited to carry out their calling to serve students and families in public, charter, and private schools locally, in other states, and around the world. Hello, I’m Dr. Paul T. Plew. For the last 42 years I have been the dean of the School of Music here at The Master’s University. We are accredited by NASM (the National Association of Schools of Music), and we offer both a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts with 11 different majors or emphases. Out of our 13 graduates, five are graduating with honors.

One of our students has been accepted to Julliard’s master program and is choosing between attending Rice University or the Academy of Vocal Arts, both prestigious schools for opera.

Another of our grads was accepted into the Peabody School to study Musicology. Others are pursuing the teacher credential program, church music ministry, studio teaching, and performing. Our students have participated in ensembles, classes, and individual instruction with some of the top musicians of Los Angeles. Some of our grads have performed at Carnegie Hall, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville with Keith & Kristyn Getty, and have recorded with Matt Redman. They will take what they learned through these experiences with them as they continue into the music field. I am so thankful for the opportunity to see them graduate, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do in their lives in the years to come. Congratulations to the TMU School of Music graduating class of 2021!

The Master’s University’s commitment to serving non-traditional learners began in the 1990s with the Degree Completion Program, which later became the Center for Professional Studies. In 2015 TMU began delivering fully online degrees and today offers eight graduate and undergraduate programs, taught primarily by full-time TMU faculty and rooted in the same scriptural worldview that grounds our traditional program. I have had the honor of serving as the dean of Online Education since 2017 and have the privilege of seeing adult learners grow in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives as they earn their undergraduate and graduate degrees through TMU Online. I am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in our students’ lives and for the opportunity to partner with them to advance their education, without compromise.

Students who attend The Master's University through the School of Online Education are listed as graduates of their respective academic discipline.

I have the privilege of being dean of the School of Science, Math, Technology & Health.

We have celebrated over 50 years of science and math education at The Master’s University and our school includes four departments: Mathematics, Biological and Physical Sciences, Kinesiology, and Engineering and Computer Science. Our Biology and Physical Science department prepares students for the health professions and the environmental sciences, and we have physicians, dentists, veterinarians, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, bioengineers, medical researchers, national park rangers, and forensic analysts working and serving worldwide. Many students who graduate from our Kinesiology department complete advanced degrees at prestigious universities and also work in the health fields, such as occupational and physical therapy and sports medicine. Our math graduates have gone on to work in the engineering, data science, cryptography, and education fields, among many others. Graduates from our Engineering and Computer Science department have obtained positions at Fortune 500 companies as systems engineers, analysts, and IT specialists. One thing is common among our graduates: a commitment to serving a creator God who displays His power in the things He has made (Romans 1). This truth provides a basis for all we do in the fields of math and science. I, along with our department chairs, look forward to seeing how our 2021 graduates will salt this world with God’s Word, love, and grace. Congratulations to the class of 2021.
