Lastmonth,wehadthejoyofgatheringfortwospecialretreatexperiencesthat continuetoenrichourTMLAcommunity.
OurthirdannualMotherFigure/DaughterFigureRetreat—graciouslyledandsponsoredby CarolPetrocelliWeiss’59—washeldinthepeacefulsettingoftheTMLALibraryover Mother’sDayweekend.Thisheartfeltgatheringofferedamomentofreflection,gratitude,and connectionduringatypicallybusyseason,honoringthematernalfigureswhoshapeourlives withloveandwisdom.Participantsenjoyedmeaningfulconversation,guidedreflection,a creativehands-onactivity,andleftwithhandmadejournals,akeepsakephoto,andaletterwritingprompttocontinuetheirjourneytogether.
Justaweeklater,wetraveledtotheshoresofShinnecockBayforourspringAlumRetreat. RootedintheJubileeYearthemePilgrimsofHope,theweekendinvitedustoreflectonhow hoperevealsitselfinourlives throughpeace,throughchallenge,andthroughthe unshakablesupportoffaithandcommunity.We’resogratefultoourpresenters—S.Marie MackeyCSJ’80,ChristinaSama,andNanAdams’79—wholedusinprayer,meditation, yoga,andjoyfuldance,allwhilekeepingthemissionoftheSistersofSt.Josephattheheart ofourtimetogether.
Theseretreatscontinuetogrow,nowwelcomingnotjustTMLAalums,butalsomothers, daughters,sisters,andfriends.Whetheryoujoinedusinthelibraryorbythebay,weareso gratefulforyourpresenceandspirit.Ifyoufoundpeace,joy,orreconnectionduringyour retreat,wehopeyou’llinvitesomeonetojoinyounexttime.
