TEA-HORSE ANCIENT ROAD The Ancient Tea Horse Road was a road built in the Tang Dynasty in China to transport tea from Yunnan to Tibet, where it was impossible to grow tea. There were three routes along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, but the most famous was the YunnanTibet route. This route was known for its difficulty and danger because of the high mountains, forests, and dangerous animals along the way. Many people died while traveling this route.
