Mamaroneck board supports LMCTV move to old firehouse By KILEY STEVENS Staff Writer At the March 15 Board of Trustees meeting for the village of Mamaroneck, the board conveyed its unanimous support to allow LMCTV to station their headquarters at the vacant Hook and Ladder Firehouse on Mamaroneck Avenue. The firehouse, located at 122 Mamaroneck Ave., has been vacant since 2009. The nonprofit public access channel broadcasts municipal meetings for the villages of Mamaroneck and Larchmont and also for the town of Mama-
roneck. In addition, LMCTV also has a long list of shows produced by volunteer residents available on its website. Erik Lewis, CEO of LMCTV, said that the move to the firehouse would allow LMCTV to be more visible and accessible to the community. Currently, the headquarters for the public access station are located at the Town Center, 740 W. Boston Post Road, and they also have two television studios, one at 145 Library Lane and another located within Mamaroneck High School. It is the goal of LMCTV to streamline their op-
erations into one location, preferably at the firehouse. “We’ve been anticipating a new home and need it greatly to continue our service to the community and expand it,” Lewis said. He added that being close to the Mamaroneck Metro-North station would benefit people who come from other municipalities to participate in workshops offered by LMCTV. President of the board of directors for LMCTV, Jeff Meighan, promised the Board of Trustees that they would take good care of the historic firehouse.
