Inspired by an icon: the new Cayenne Coupé Electric

Inspired by the iconic shape of the 911 and its characteristic flyline, the new Cayenne Coupé Electric models combine powerful proportions with exceptional e-performance. Visually and technically, they are among the most emotive and sporting cars in the whole SUV segment. At market launch, there will be a choice of three drive variants on offer.

The new Cayenne Coupé models combine commanding presence with the iconic roofline of the 911 –known as the ‘flyline’ within Porsche. The coupé models are different from the A-pillar back, while the windscreen has also been designed specifically for the Coupé.

The adaptive rear spoiler blends harmoniously into the body, while the way the rear window is embedded and flush-mounted with fewer joints ensures a clean, modern look.

“Precisely drawn lines, wide proportions and high-gloss black side window strips form a design that exudes sportiness in every detail. Extroverted and clearly positioned, the new Cayenne Coupé Electric is a sports car through and through,” said Stopka.

The coupé shape with its sloping roofline helps to reduce drag. The new model’s cd value is 0.23 (SUV: 0.25). This increases the combined WLTP range of the Cayenne Coupé

Electric by up to 18 kilometres to up to 669 km, depending on the model, compared to the SUV. The Porsche Active Aerodynamics system includes features such as moving cooling air flaps and an adaptive rear spoiler.

Sporty proportions with outstanding everyday practicality At 4,985 millimetres long and 1,980 mm wide (excluding mirrors), the all-electric Cayenne Coupé is the same length and width as the SUV model. However, the highest point of the car is 24 mm lower, at 1,650 mm. Despite its sporting lines, the coupé offers a high level of practicality, with a load volume of 534¹ to 1,347 litres and a front luggage compartment

“

The gently sloping roofline sweeps elegantly over the car’s broad shoulders and gives the Cayenne Coupé a particularly sporty appearance,”

Thomas Stopka, Head of Exterior Design, Style Porsche.

that holds an additional 90 l. The rear seating – available in either a two-seat or 2+1 layout – is electrically adjustable in two ways. As with the SUV, a towbar, and a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, is available. For customers with increased demands on the ruggedness of their car, an off-road package is also available for the Coupé.

More extensive standard equipment and optional Lightweight Sport package

The Cayenne Coupé Electric adopts the Porsche Driver Experience of the SUV and so offers a digital and

driver-oriented operating concept. This is characterised by a generous display area including a fully digital instrument cluster, the central Flow Display, as well as a passenger display and an AR head-up display as an option. Digital and analogue controls complement each other and their ergonomically optimised for ease of access. With Porsche Digital Interaction, the focus is on individualisation and intuitive operation. Personalisable widgets, customisable display themes and the integration of thirdparty apps ensure a connected and individually configurable user experience.

With its panoramic glass roof –optionally with Variable Light Control, an electrically switchable liquid crystal film – and its Sport Chrono Package, the standard equipment of the Cayenne Coupé Electric is even more extensive than that of the SUV. A Coupé-specific Lightweight Sport package is also available as an option. Depending on the model, it reduces the car’s weight by up to 17.6 kg. The package includes a lightweight carbon roof, sporty carbon inserts, package-specific 22-inch wheels and highperformance tyres. Inside, sporty elements feature heavily, such as the seat centre panels trimmed in classic Pepita pattern cloth, the Race-Tex headliner and open-pore carbon surfaces. As an option, the Lightweight Sport package can also be combined with black leather upholstery and a 2+1 rear seat system.

FERRARI PUROSANGUE IN HANDLING SPECIALE CONFIGURATION

Ferrari today presented the Handling Speciale, a new and exclusive configuration available on request for the Ferrari Purosangue, developed to further intensify the sporting character of the first four-door, four-seater Ferrari in the history of the Prancing Horse. The Handling Speciale configuration has been created to deliver an even

sportier driving experience by sharpening the car’s mechanical and electronic responses, without compromising the everyday versatility that defines the Ferrari Purosangue. It is intended for those seeking a set-up with an even stronger focus on sportiness, while retaining the ability to use the car daily and in any context.

The hallmark attributes of full four-seat accommodation, the elevated yet sporty driving position and overall cabin usability remain unchanged. The underlying architecture of the Ferrari Purosangue in Handling Speciale configuration continues to be the highly acclaimed four-door layout based on a transaxle architecture, with a naturally-aspirated V12 engine in a front-mid position and the gearbox mounted at the rear, combined with the latest-generation vehicle dynamics systems. The new configuration significantly revises several key elements of dynamic response, including the calibration of the active suspension, designed to reduce body movements by 10% and deliver a distinctly more compact feel. As a result, the Ferrari Purosangue in Handling Speciale configuration reacts

more directly to driver inputs, enhancing the sensation of control through successive corners and during rapid changes of direction.

Shift strategies have also been revised, with quicker response times and more decisive gear changes, particularly in the Manettino ‘Race’ and ‘ESC-Off’ modes. The effect is especially evident during acceleration manoeuvres, where the system prioritises a sharper sensation of thrust. In manual mode, shifts become more sporting at medium-to-high engine speeds (above 5,500 rpm), increasing driver engagement. The in-cabin sound has likewise been optimised through a dedicated setting, more pronounced at start-up and under acceleration, further highlighting the character of the naturally-aspirated V12.

The Ferrari Purosangue in Handling Speciale configuration also introduces a number of exclusive styling elements that make it instantly recognisable without altering its proportions. These include wheels with a dedicated design and new diamond-cut finish, carbon-fibre side shields, matt black exhaust tips, a black

rear Prancing Horse emblem, a satin-finished Ferrari script and a dedicated interior plaque identifying the configuration.

The introduction of this new configuration enhances the sporting spirit of a project that has radically transformed the global landscape of luxury high-riding sports cars, while preserving its identity as a vehicle capable of combining the versatility of a four-seater with the dynamic behaviour typical of Ferrari frontmid-engined cars.

GENUINE MAINTENANCE

Ferrari’s unparalleled quality standards and increasing focus on client service underpin the extended seven-year maintenance programme offered with the Ferrari Purosangue in Handling Speciale configuration. Available across the entire Ferrari range, the programme covers all regular maintenance for the first seven years of the car’s life. This scheduled maintenance programme for Ferraris is an exclusive service

that allows clients the certainty that their car is being kept at peak performance and safety over the ears. This very special service is also available to owners of pre-owned Ferraris.

Regular maintenance (at intervals of either 20,000 km or once a year with no mileage restrictions), original spares and meticulous checks by staff trained directly at the Ferrari Training Centre in Maranello using the most modern diagnostic tools are just some of the main advantages of the Genuine Maintenance programme. The service is available on all markets worldwide and from all Dealerships on the Official Dealership Network.

The Genuine Maintenance programme further strengthens the wide range of after-sales services offered by Ferrari to meet the needs of clients wishing to preserve the performance and excellence that are the signatures of all cars built in Maranello.

CHOPARD, OFFICIAL PARTNER TO THE 79TH CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

As the 79th Cannes Film Festival (12–23 May 2026) prepares to unfurl its legendary red carpet, Chopard renews its enduring love story with the silver screen. A loyal partner of the Festival since 1998, the Maison will accompany leading lights of cinema throughout the fortnight of celebrations.

This longstanding commitment is rooted in a pivotal moment in the Festival’s history, when Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, reimagined the Palme d’or. Since then, Chopard’s artisans have held the exclusive honour of crafting every official trophy awarded at the Festival’s closing ceremony. With its heart-shaped stem and 19 leaves of ethical yellow gold, set on an emerald-cut rock crystal base, the Palme d’or stands as a radiant emblem of the longstanding bond between Chopard and Cannes.

Beyond honouring established icons, Chopard champions emerging talent through the Trophée Chopard. At an official Festival dinner on 15 May held on Carlton Beach, the 26th edition of this prestigious award will be presented to two rising stars, Odessa A’zion and Connor Swindells.

The ceremony will take place in the presence of Godmother Isabelle Huppert, alongside Caroline Scheufele, Iris Knobloch, President of the Festival, and Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate.

The Festival also offers an exceptional setting in which to unveil the Red Carpet Collection, a celebration of the unparalleled savoir faire of the Maison’s Haute Joaillerie ateliers. Presented annually in a number corresponding to the edition of the Festival, the 2026 collection comprises 79 exceptional creations.

On 18 May, Caroline Scheufele will host the Miracles Evening, Chopard’s legendary grand soirée. Presented in a beautifully appointed setting, rich and abundant in visual detail, the venue will become the stage for an evening designed as a succession of surprises, culminating in a runway presentation revealing the Red Carpet Collection alongside the latest Caroline’s Couture silhouettes.

In parallel with its celebrations, Chopard proudly returns as Presenting Sponsor of the 32nd amfAR Gala Cannes on 21 May at the Hôtel du Cap – Eden-Roc.

For the duration of the Festival, the Maison will welcome its guests to the famed Chopard Rooftop, perched on the 7th floor of the Hôtel Martinez.

Chopard extends heartfelt thanks to its partners: Champagne Louis Roederer, Vins Monestier La Tour, Campari, San Pellegrino, Nespresso, Copenhagen Sparkling Tea, French Bloom and skincare partner Dr. Burgener.

Chopard is particularly pleased to partner with DENZA for the first time. Throughout the Festival, the premium technology-oriented automobile marque will accompany Chopard guests, providing seamless and comfortable journeys with their flagship shooting brake Z9GT to and from the Palais des Festivals, and contributing with elegance and refinement to the Maison’s presence in Cannes.

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS CELEBRATES THE ART OF DANCE WITH BALLET PRÉCIEUX CREATIONS

Combining its quest for excellence with a taste for beauty and harmony, Van Cleef & Arpels has long drawn on dance as an enduring source of creativity. Since the early 1940s, the art of ballet has suffused the Maison’s feminine figures with graceful flair.

Brilliant Bijoux

Perpetuating a cherished creative tradition, the Maison is unveiling 12 ballerina clips in homage to different ballets of the classical repertoire. This ensemble supplements the Ballet Précieux collection, which was launched in 2007 and enriched in 2023. Echoing Cleopatra, The Sylph or The Nutcracker, these slender-silhouetted figurines reveal costumes and ornaments brimming with carefully executed details. Delicate movements, elegant costumes and rich ornamentation have been reproduced with precision, thanks to the craftsmen in the High Jewelry Workshops.

The Fée des Dragées ballerina clip evokes The Nutcracker’s Sugar Plum Fairy, depicted in a delicate harmony of pastel tones. Her headdress is set with colored gems, while her tutu brings together scallop-hemmed skirts in polished gold, diamond paving and stones offering a gentle gradation of shades. Similarly, The Rose de Bengale ballerina clip seems to capture the movement of a dancer in mid relevé; on her diamond-set leotard, golden braids and beads of different diameters are juxtaposed with cabochons of colored stones, in homage to the splendors of ancient India. The Danse de Séville ballerina clip, meanwhile, echoes the second act of Georges Bizet’s emblematic opera Carmen,

where the young bohemian Carmen dances for her lover, while the Reine de Shemakhan ballerina clip evokes the attire of Persian dance.

Van Cleef & Arpels’ close ties with the world of dance date back to the Paris of the 1920s. This commitment continues today through Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels, a program dedicated to supporting artists and institutions, sharing choreographic heritage, and encouraging new productions across the international stage.

“President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Catherine Renier, says:

“The art of dance and High Jewelry share many common features. Quest for excellence, precision, expression of movement... The grace of ballerinas has been realistically captured by the various skills of Van Cleef & Arpels’ craftsmen, who have transcribed their dynamic postures into gold and precious stones.”

Azza Fahmy Unveils its Soraya Collection: A celestial journey through symbol, memory and craft Brilliant Bijoux

Azza Fahmy Jewellery presents its newest Soraya Collection, a collection inspired by the enduring symbolism of the crescent moon and stars, reimagined through the brand’s lens of storytelling, craftsmanship, and cultural exploration.

For centuries, the crescent and star have travelled across the Ottoman world, woven into architecture, textiles, jewellery, and decorative arts. Carried across generations, the motif became part of a rich visual language that remained recognisable while continually taking on new forms.

At the heart of Soraya lies one of Azza Fahmy’s most recognisable signatures: the chain. More than a functional element, it becomes the collection’s defining language. Inspired by and brought to life through the house’s intricate meshlike chain technique, Soraya transforms chainwork into fluid surfaces that recall the softness and drape of textile. Chains connect motifs, create movement, and shape fluid silhouettes, transforming ornament into structure.

The collection explores celestial symbolism through a rich variety of forms and inspirations. The Celestial Scarf Necklace transforms Azza Fahmy’s signature chain into a fluid, scarf-like composition inscribed with the lyric “

(“My days become sweeter with you”), from the beloved Warda song. Designed to be worn in multiple ways, it is finished with cascading chains adorned with crescent and star motifs that bring movement and lightness to the piece. Taking approximately 82 hours to create, the necklace is a testament to the exceptional level of craftsmanship behind the collection, where every detail is thoughtfully executed by hand in keeping with the brand’s dedication to artistry and heritage

The Cascading Crescent & Star Earrings reinterpret one of the brand’s most recognisable chain forms through an Ottoman crescent and star motif at the ear, from which a mesh-like composition falls with the softness of textile. Emerging from the cascading chains, celestial motifs create a dynamic interplay of light and movement. The design is also offered in an all-gold version adorned with diamonds, elevating the piece into a statement of refined glamour.

Inspired by Victorian jewellery, the Celestial Beaded Choker reimagines the classic pearl choker through the celestial language of Soraya. Composed of three strands of pearls or coloured stones, the design is centred

by an Ottoman crescent and star motif set with champagne diamonds, presented upside down as a contemporary reinterpretation of a familiar symbol.

The collection also pays homage to traditional Egyptian jewellery through the Celestial Kirdan Necklace, inspired by Fallahy adornments worn in rural Egypt. Featuring a star-adorned chain integrated with dangling stars and precious stone drops, the necklace is centred by a diamond-set Ottoman crescent and star motif, creating a piece rich in movement, colour, and cultural resonance.

Another key design, the Constellation Chain Bracelet, reimagines Azza Fahmy’s iconic chain by incorporating star motifs in three distinct forms. Together, they create a mesh-like structure reminiscent of woven textile, while three Ottoman crescent and star motifs at its centre unite the collection’s celestial narrative with the house’s signature chainwork.

Throughout Soraya, rings, bangles, pendants, and earrings continue this collection between history and reinvention. Pieces such as the Cascading Celestial Choker, Ottoman Crescent & Star Ring, Three Star & Crescent Ring, Star & Crescent Bangle, and Ottoman Chain Bracelet reinterpret historic symbols through contemporary silhouettes, while maintaining the craftsmanship and storytelling that define the design house’s values.

The Soraya campaign is brought to life in Alexandria, a city that serves as more than a backdrop. Shaped by memory, nostalgia, faded grandeur, and centuries of cultural exchange, Alexandria becomes a character within the Soraya story. Its layered history and timeless beauty echo the spirit of the collection, where heritage and modernity coexist, and where symbols continue to evolve across generations.

With Soraya, Azza Fahmy Jewellery celebrates the enduring power of cultural symbols and the beauty of reinterpretation. Rooted in history yet designed for today, the collection invites wearers to carry a piece of the night sky, transforming ancient motifs into contemporary treasures that honour the past while embracing the future.

The collection is now available at Azza Fahmy Jewellery boutiques and online on Azza Fahmy.com

STEERING SAUDI ARABIA’S AUTOMOTIVE TRANSFORMATION

CONVERSATION WITH MR.

CHENGHEZ KHAN

You have been with Juffali Automotive Company (JACO) for nearly three decades. How has your leadership philosophy evolved throughout your journey from joining the company in 1996 to becoming CEO?

My journey with Juffali Automotive Company has been defined by continuous learning, adaptation, and a deep appreciation for the role mobility plays in people’s lives and in the Kingdom’s development. Having joined JACO in 1996, I have had the privilege of contributing to the company through multiple leadership roles across different areas of the business, each of which provided valuable insights into our customers, operations, partners, and the broader automotive ecosystem.

Over the years, my perspective on leadership evolved from a strong focus on commercial performance and operational excellence to a broader understanding of what creates sustainable success. I came to appreciate that long-term growth is built not only through business results, but also through customer experience, talent development, strategic partnerships, innovation, and an organization’s ability to adapt to change.

One of the most influential aspects of this journey has been witnessing Saudi Arabia’s remarkable transformation. As the Kingdom accelerates toward Vision 2030, companies are increasingly expected not only to deliver commercial success, but also to contribute

CHENGHEZ KHAN

meaningfully to national priorities and long-term economic development. This has reinforced my belief that leadership is ultimately about creating sustainable value, empowering people, and ensuring organizations remain relevant and resilient in a rapidly evolving world.

My experience across different leadership positions within JACO provided exposure to every stage of the customer journey and many facets of the business. It reinforced the importance of operational excellence, customer centricity, innovation, and building strong partnerships.

Leading through periods of market evolution, technological disruption, and changing customer expectations also taught me that successful leadership is not about reacting to change, but about preparing organizations to thrive through it.

Today, my leadership philosophy is centered on strengthening JACO’s position as a future-focused mobility leader while preserving the principles that have guided the company for decades: excellence, innovation, customer focus, long-term value creation, and a commitment to contributing to the Kingdom’s continued progress.

Under your leadership, JACO has significantly expanded its mobility ecosystem. What strategic priorities have been most critical in driving this transformation?

The most important shift has been our transition from being perceived primarily as an automotive distributor to becoming a comprehensive mobility solutions provider.

More broadly, our ambition has been to build a mobility ecosystem that creates value beyond the vehicle itself, one that connects products, services, infrastructure, technology, and customer experiences into a single integrated proposition.

This transformation has been guided by three strategic priorities. First, diversifying our mobility offering to better serve evolving customer needs through new business lines and integrated services. Second, preparing the company for the future of mobility by investing in electrification, digital transformation, and sustainable

mobility solutions. Third, strengthening customer lifetime value through an integrated ecosystem that combines sales, aftersales, protection solutions, rental services, fleet support, and future mobility offerings.

Over the past few years, we have expanded our portfolio through initiatives such as Juffali Rental Company, ProTech® Monte Carlo, the introduction of the smart brand, and the expansion of commercial vehicle solutions through Mercedes-Benz Vans. These initiatives are not standalone businesses; they are interconnected components of a broader mobility ecosystem designed to provide customers with a seamless experience throughout their mobility journey.

Our objective is simple: to ensure that JACO remains relevant not only for today’s mobility needs, but also for the future mobility landscape that Vision 2030 is helping to create.

Saudi Arabia’s automotive sector is undergoing rapid change. Where do you see the Kingdom’s premium mobility market heading over the next five years?

I believe Saudi Arabia is entering one of the most exciting periods in the history of its automotive sector. The premium mobility market will increasingly be shaped by three major forces: electrification, digitalization, and customer-centric experiences.

These forces are not developing independently; they are converging to redefine how customers interact with mobility brands and how value is delivered across the ownership journey.

Customers today expect much more than a vehicle. They seek integrated experiences, seamless digital engagement, personalized services, and brands that align with their lifestyle aspirations. At the same time, we are witnessing growing interest in sustainable mobility solutions and next-generation technologies.

Saudi Arabia’s unique advantage lies in the pace of transformation driven by Vision 2030. Significant investments in infrastructure, tourism destinations, and sustainability initiatives are creating an environment where mobility innovation can thrive.

Over the next five years, I expect the premium mobility market to move beyond traditional ownership models toward a more connected ecosystem where vehicles, digital services, infrastructure, and lifestyle experiences are seamlessly integrated.

For companies like JACO, this presents a tremendous opportunity, not only to participate in this transformation, but to help shape it by delivering innovative, future-ready mobility solutions that contribute to the Kingdom’s long-term ambitions.

JACO has introduced several new business lines, including commercial vehicles through Mercedes-Benz Vans, rental services, and the smart brand. How do these additions strengthen your long-term vision for the company?

With a legacy spanning more than seven decades, Juffali Automotive Company has played a role in shaping the Kingdom’s automotive sector across multiple generations. Throughout that journey, one principle has remained constant: our ability to evolve while staying true to the values that built our reputation; trust, reliability, customer commitment, and long-term thinking.

Our vision has always extended beyond the traditional automotive distribution model. We believe the future belongs to companies that can provide integrated mobility solutions rather than standalone products. The mobility landscape is evolving rapidly, and our responsibility is to ensure that we carry forward the strength of our heritage while continuously adapting to the changing needs of customers, industries, and the Kingdom itself.

The introduction of commercial vehicles through Mercedes-Benz Vans, rental solutions, the smart brand, fleet services, and value-added offerings reflects our commitment to building a diversified mobility ecosystem capable of serving different customer segments and evolving mobility needs.

Beyond expanding our capabilities, these businesses strengthen the resilience of our organization and position JACO to participate more meaningfully in the Kingdom’s next phase of growth. As Vision 2030

“Leadership is about creating sustainable value—empowering people, embracing change, and ensuring organizations remain relevant in a rapidly evolving world.

continues to reshape how people live, work, travel, and move, we see tremendous opportunities to contribute to new industries, giga-projects, tourism destinations, and emerging mobility ecosystems that are redefining the future of Saudi Arabia.

Ultimately, our objective is not simply to grow our portfolio, but to build on a legacy that spans more than seven decades while creating a future-ready mobility platform that delivers sustainable value for customers, partners, and the Kingdom. We see ourselves not only as participants in Saudi Arabia’s transformation, but as long-term contributors to shaping the future of mobility within it.

Sustainability has become a key pillar of your strategy through the “JACO Promise 2030” initiative. What tangible impact do you hope this framework will have on both the company and the wider automotive industry?

Promise 2030 is much more than a sustainability initiative. It is our long-term vision and commitment to aligning JACO’s growth with the Kingdom’s broader transformation agenda.

As a Saudi company with deep roots in the market, we believe our responsibility extends beyond commercial success. We have a role to play in advancing sustainable mobility, investing in Saudi talent, supporting local industries, strengthening environmental practices, and contributing to the long-term resilience of the mobility sector.

What makes Promise 2030 particularly important is that it translates ambition into action. Equally

CHENGHEZ KHAN

important, it establishes a framework for accountability by linking our long-term ambitions to measurable commitments and outcomes. We have established clear commitments around electric mobility adoption, charging infrastructure support, workforce development, operational sustainability, strategic partnerships, and localization. These are tangible areas where businesses can create measurable impact while contributing to national priorities.

My hope is that Promise 2030 will not only shape the future of JACO but also contribute to a broader conversation about the role companies can play in accelerating sustainable growth. If we can help strengthen the mobility ecosystem, develop future talent, and support the Kingdom’s transition toward a more diversified and sustainable economy, then we will have achieved something far more meaningful than business growth alone.

Electric mobility is reshaping consumer expectations globally. How is JACO preparing to meet the growing demand for EVs while supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambitions?

Electric mobility is no longer a future trend; it is becoming an integral part of the mobility landscape and a key enabler of a more sustainable future. At JACO, our approach goes beyond introducing electric vehicles; we are focused on helping build the ecosystem that will support their long-term adoption across the Kingdom.

Through Promise 2030, we have committed to advancing sustainable mobility by supporting EV awareness, encouraging adoption, contributing to charging infrastructure development, and investing in the capabilities required to support the next generation of mobility solutions. We believe that successful EV adoption depends on more than technology alone; it requires the right infrastructure, consumer confidence, education, and strategic collaboration.

This is why our partnership with EVIQ and Mercedes-Benz Middle East represents such an important milestone. Together, we are contributing to the development of a nationwide high-power charging network

that will help accelerate electric mobility adoption across Saudi Arabia. More importantly, this collaboration reflects a shared vision of creating the conditions necessary for a thriving EV ecosystem, one that supports cleaner transportation, economic diversification, and long-term sustainable growth.

What excites me most is that Saudi Arabia is uniquely positioned to become one of the region’s leading electric mobility markets. With Vision 2030 driving investment in infrastructure, clean energy, and innovation, the foundations are being laid for a new era of mobility.

Partnerships have played an important role in JACO’s evolution. What qualities do you look for when selecting strategic collaborators, and how do these alliances create value for your customers?

At Juffali Automotive Company, we view partnerships as a catalyst for long-term value creation rather than short-term business opportunities. The most successful collaborations are built on a shared vision, complementary strengths, a commitment to excellence, and a common ambition to create meaningful impact.

When evaluating potential partners, we look beyond commercial objectives. We seek organizations that share our values, understand the importance of customer experience, embrace innovation, and are committed to contributing to the Kingdom’s long-term development. Strong partnerships should not only benefit the companies involved; they should create value for customers, industries, and communities.

This philosophy has guided many of our most important initiatives. Our long-standing partnership with Mercedes-Benz is a testament to what can be achieved when two organizations share a commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous progress. More recently, the collaborations I just mentioned, such as our partnership with EVIQ and Mercedes-Benz Middle East demonstrate how strategic alliances can accelerate the development of entire mobility ecosystems that create value for customers while contributing to the Kingdom’s broader economic and mobility ambitions.

As the mobility landscape continues to evolve, no company can shape the future alone. Partnerships will increasingly become a source of innovation, resilience, and growth. Our objective is to build an ecosystem of trusted collaborators who share our ambition to advance mobility, support national priorities, and deliver greater value across every stage of the journey.

Customer experience is increasingly becoming a differentiator in the luxury automotive space. How is JACO redefining the ownership journey beyond the purchase itself?

In the luxury automotive sector, the vehicle may initiate the relationship, but the ownership experience ultimately defines it.

At Juffali Automotive Company, we believe that customer experience extends far beyond the moment of

purchase. It encompasses every interaction a customer has with our organization; from digital engagement and showroom visits to aftersales support, mobility services, vehicle care, and long-term ownership solutions.

This philosophy has shaped many of our recent investments. We have strengthened our aftersales process, expanded customer support channels, invested in CRM and digital capabilities, enhanced our service network, and introduced value-added solutions such as ProTech® Monte Carlo. These initiatives are all designed around a single objective: ensuring that customers enjoy a seamless, consistent, and premium experience throughout their ownership journey.

At the same time, customer expectations are evolving. Today’s luxury customer values convenience, personalization, transparency, and meaningful engagement.

“CHENGHEZ KHAN

True leadership is not about reacting to change, but about preparing organizations to thrive through it.
— Chenghez Khan

This is why we continue to invest in technologies and experiences that make every interaction more intuitive, more connected, and more relevant.

Ultimately, we do not measure success by the number of vehicles we sell. We measure it by the strength of the relationships we build and the trust we earn over time. In our view, the ownership journey should be as exceptional as the vehicle itself.

Talent development and localization remain central to your leadership approach. How are you empowering Saudi professionals to become the next generation of leaders within the automotive sector?

I firmly believe that the most sustainable investment any organization can make is an investment in people.

Saudi Arabia is undergoing a remarkable transformation that is creating unprecedented opportunities for growth, innovation, and economic diversification. Realizing these ambitions, however, requires a workforce equipped with the skills, expertise, and leadership capabilities needed to drive the future. This is why talent development is not simply an HR initiative at JACO; it is a strategic priority and a core pillar of our Promise 2030 framework.

At the heart of this commitment is the Juffali Training Center, a long-standing institution dedicated to developing Saudi talent and preparing future generations to contribute to the Kingdom’s growth. Working alongside a number of Juffali partners, the center provides specialized technical and vocational education across a range of disciplines, helping young Saudis build the practical skills required to succeed in evolving industries.

One initiative that I am particularly proud of is the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Program, delivered through the Juffali Training Center and now entering its fifth year. The program reflects our long-term commitment to Saudization, technical excellence, and capability development by creating meaningful career pathways for ambitious young Saudis seeking opportunities within the automotive industry.

What makes this initiative particularly meaningful is that it extends beyond technical training. It represents the transfer of a legacy of more than 140 years of innovation, engineering excellence, and automotive expertise to the next generation of Saudi talent. Supported by Mercedes-Benz specialists and technical training experts, the program helps equip young Saudis with globally aligned capabilities while enabling them to contribute to the future growth of the Kingdom’s automotive and mobility sectors.

At the same time, we continue to invest in leadership development, knowledge transfer, technical training, and career progression opportunities across the organization. Our ambition is not only to develop highly skilled professionals, but to cultivate a sustainable pipeline of the next generation of Saudi leaders who will shape the future of mobility in the Kingdom.

Innovation often requires balancing tradition with disruption. How do you preserve the heritage and reputation of a long-established company while embracing emerging technologies and business models?

I do not see heritage and innovation as opposing forces. In fact, I believe the strongest organizations are those that use their heritage as a foundation for future progress.

Juffali Automotive Company has been part of Saudi Arabia’s automotive journey for more than seven decades. Throughout that history, our reputation has been built on trust, reliability, customer commitment, and a willingness to evolve with changing times. These values remain as relevant today as they were when the company was first established.

“We are building on decades of trust while shaping the future of mobility through

innovation, people, and purpose.

— Chenghez Khan

What changes is how those values are expressed. The needs of customers are evolving, technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, and entirely new mobility models are emerging. Preserving our heritage therefore does not mean preserving old ways of doing business. It means preserving the principles that define us while continuously adapting how we create value.

This philosophy has guided our investments in digital transformation, electric mobility, new business models, customer experience, and talent development. We are building on decades of trust while preparing the organization for a future shaped by connectivity, sustainability, data, and innovation.

Ultimately, heritage gives us credibility, while innovation gives us relevance. Long-term success requires both. Our responsibility is to ensure that future generations view JACO not only as a company with a proud history, but as one that continuously helped advance the mobility innovation in the Kingdom.

Looking beyond electrification, which trends such as artificial intelligence, connected vehicles, autonomous driving, or mobility services—do you believe will have the greatest impact on the future of the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia?

While electrification is an integral part of the industry’s future, I believe the most profound transformation will come from the convergence of several technologies rather than any single innovation.

Artificial intelligence, connected vehicle ecosystems, predictive maintenance, data-driven customer experiences, autonomous technologies, and integrated

mobility services are collectively redefining what a vehicle is and how mobility is delivered. Vehicles are evolving from standalone products into intelligent, connected platforms capable of continuously interacting with their environment and users.

For Saudi Arabia, this transformation is particularly exciting because it aligns closely with many of the ambitions driving Vision 2030. Investments in digital infrastructure, advanced logistics, tourism destinations, and future-focused industries are creating an environment where these technologies can scale more rapidly than in many other markets.

I also believe that data and connectivity will become increasingly important competitive differentiators. The ability to deliver personalized services, anticipate customer needs, improve safety, optimize operations, and create seamless mobility experiences will shape the next generation of customer expectations.

At JACO, we view these trends not as distant possibilities, but as opportunities to prepare today for the mobility ecosystem of tomorrow. The future of mobility will be smarter, more connected, more sustainable, and increasingly integrated into everyday life, and we intend to play an active role in helping shape that future.

As CEO, what legacy would you like to leave at Juffali Automotive Company, and what message would you share with aspiring business leaders seeking to shape the future of mobility in the Kingdom?

I do not think about legacy as a point at which my contribution ends. My focus today is on ensuring that Juffali Automotive Company continues to evolve, create value, and remain relevant for future generations. Strong institutions are built over decades, and every leader has a responsibility to strengthen them for those who come next.

JACO has been a trusted partner in Saudi Arabia’s mobility journey. Long before I joined the organization, it had already established a remarkable reputation built on trust, excellence, innovation, and a commitment to serving the Kingdom. My responsibility has never been

CHENGHEZ KHAN

to redefine that legacy, but rather to build upon it and ensure that it continues to evolve, remain relevant, and create value for future generations.

If there is one contribution I would like to make during my time at JACO, it is to help strengthen the company’s position as a future-focused mobility leader, one that successfully combines its heritage with innovation, contributes to national development, invests in people, and continues to set new standards for customer experience, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Equally important is building an organization that can thrive beyond any one individual. Great companies

endure because they develop strong cultures, empower future leaders, embrace change, and remain committed to a purpose larger than themselves. If, years from now, JACO is recognized not only for its heritage but also for its ability to continuously innovate, nurture talent, and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s transformation, I would consider that a meaningful achievement.

As for aspiring business leaders, my advice is to think beyond immediate success and focus on long-term value creation. The most effective leaders are not those who simply manage businesses, they are those who build organizations, develop people, create opportunities, and contribute to the advancement of their industries, communities and culture.

Saudi Arabia is experiencing one of the most ambitious transformations in its history. The opportunities ahead are extraordinary, particularly in sectors such as mobility, technology, sustainability, and advanced industries. The next generation of leaders has a unique opportunity not only to participate in this transformation, but to shape it. My advice is to remain ambitious, embrace change, think strategically, and always remember that leadership is ultimately measured not by what you achieve for yourself, but by what you enable others to achieve.

“Over nearly three decades, I have learned that leadership is not defined by titles, but by the ability to evolve with purpose, empower people, and build sustainable success through change, vision, and long-term commitment.

— Chenghez Khan

DR. ANNA ZINOLA

REDEFINING LUXURY EDUCATION IN THE AGE OF DIGITAL AND SUSTAINABILITY

• You have transitioned from leading academic and consulting roles in Europe to directing Istituto Marangoni Riyadh. What makes Saudi Arabia a pivotal market for luxury education today?

I am very happy to be living in Saudi Arabia. Being here at this moment in history feels like a privilege: the country is undergoing big changes, and fashion is both a reflection of that transformation and a force that amplifies it. The growing number of Saudi brands successfully combining local sensibility with an international vision is a clear example of this change.

• How do you see Riyadh evolving as a global hub for fashion, creativity, and luxury business over the next decade?

Saudi Arabia, and Riyadh in particular, is fast emerging as one of the most significant epicenters for fashion, creativity, and luxury business. Here we can see the

convergence of two forces that rarely align so powerfully: substantial economic resources and a generation of talented and passionate creatives, who are setting new standards for what luxury means.

• Luxury today is no longer just about products, but about experiences, storytelling, and emotion. How is luxury education adapting to this transformation? Experience has become a key element of luxury. Today’s high-end customer is not simply purchasing a product or a service: is seeking a moment, a feeling, a story. This shift is reshaping every category of the luxury industry, from fashion and beauty to hospitality, automotive, and fine dining. With this in mind, we recently launched a new course, Strategic Management in Luxury Businesses, focused on luxury management across its various expressions.

• At Istituto Marangoni Riyadh, how do you balance Italian heritage and craftsmanship with the unique cultural identity of Saudi Arabia?

Italian heritage gives our students a methodology: a way of looking, making, and thinking that has shaped global fashion for decades. But our students bring something equally powerful: a cultural identity rooted in one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving creative scenes in the world. Our goal is to make sure those two forces integrate and amplify each other.

• What skills and mindset do you believe are essential for the next generation of luxury leaders in the region?

I believe that having a strong vision is essential: the ability to look beyond what already exists and imagine new possibilities, future paths, and evolutions. This doesn’t mean ignoring the present; on the contrary, it means reading and interpreting it deeply, transforming today’s reality into the foundation for tomorrow’s innovation.

• How has digitalization reshaped the way luxury brands connect with consumers emotionally?

Digitalization is transforming the entire luxury value chain, from product design to customer relationship management. By leveraging digital tools, luxury brands can gain real-time insights into their customers’ preferences, behaviors, and lifestyles, enabling them to deliver customised services and immersive, tailor made experiences.

• Do you believe digital fashion and virtual experiences can truly replicate the emotional value of physical luxury?

Personally, I don’t think so. The emotion you experience when visiting a store where you truly live a luxurious experience - seeing, touching, and trying a product - is not replicable online, at least for now. Of course, in the future, with the evolution of technology… who knows.

• Sustainability is now a core pillar in luxury. In your opinion, is the fashion industry genuinely committed, or is it still largely performative?

It’s a complex issue...For some companies, this is a genuine commitment: they truly invest in, dedicating time, energy, and resources. It becomes a fundamental part of their identity, part of the promise they make to their consumers. For others, however, it is little more than a box to tick, something they have to do, or simply appear to be doing. It is not always easy for consumers to distinguish between the two and make informed choices.

• Saudi Arabia is witnessing a cultural and creative renaissance. How do you see local talent shaping the global luxury narrative?

Saudi talents (designers, entrepreneurs, and managers) bring a unique perspective that blends heritage with a contemporary vision, offering luxury narratives that are both meaningful and globally relevant. Rather than imitating established codes, they are shaping a distinctive luxury language rooted in identity and creativity.

• What role can institutions like Istituto Marangoni play in positioning Saudi designers on the international stage?

The role of Istituto Marangoni Riyadh is to provide Saudi talents with the know-how and the skills needed

to succeed in a competitive international context. I am referring both to hard skills - such as pattern making for designers or principles of business for managersand to soft skills, such as the ability to work in teams and a problem solving mindset.

• Having taught and mentored students globally, what distinguishes the new generation of creatives in the Middle East?

The new generation of creatives in the Middle East stands out for passion and enthusiasm with which they approach fashion in its various forms. This is a valuable quality, one that makes their work even more compelling and truly worthy of support.

• What advice would you give to a young Saudi aspiring to build a career in luxury fashion or business?

My advice is to keep learning, stay curious, and keep your eyes open to the world around you. Nurture your creativity every day. That means immersing yourself in culture: visiting the many inspiring exhibitions Ksa has to offer, following fashion shows from both leading global brands and emerging local designers, and discovering fashion everywhere. Inspiration is all around you, if you stay open to it.

• Looking ahead, what will define true luxury in the next 10 years?

I believe that, in the coming years, luxury will increasingly be defined by three key words: time, truth, and trust.

Time, because true luxury requires time, time to create, and time to experience.

Truth, because luxury must be authentic, not superficial.

And trust, because at its core, luxury is a relationship, built on a strong bond of trust between the brand and the client, who recognizes and identifies with it.

• If you could shape one major change in the global fashion industry, what would it be?

I believe that sustainability, in all its dimensions, is the defining challenge for luxury companies today. The real task ahead is to reimagine luxury itself, creating products and experiences that are not only desirable, but genuinely responsible from an environmental, social, and economic perspective. This is not just a trend, but a transformation that will shape the future of luxury.

A Diwaniya Gathering in the Heart of Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Diriyah

There are some traditions that stay with us, not only because they are remembered, but because they are felt. The Saudi Diwaniya is one of them, a place where doors are open, coffee is poured with care, stories are shared, and generations come together.

At Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Diriyah, this cherished

tradition comes to life through Diwaniya Evenings, a heartfelt gathering experience inspired by the warmth, generosity, and quiet beauty of Saudi hospitality.

Held every weekend from Thursday to Saturday, 6 PM to 11 PM, Diwaniya Evenings welcomes guests into an atmosphere shaped by heritage and connection. With table-side

Dallah pours, curated Saudi coffee flights, Saudi-inspired sweet pairings, henna art, board games, and creative pot coloring for children, each detail is designed to bring back the familiar comfort of gathering with family and loved ones.

Set in the heart of Diriyah, where the Kingdom’s story began, the experience offers more than an

evening out. It is a return to the rituals that have long defined Saudi homes: the first pour of coffee, the sweetness shared across the table, the laughter of children, and the conversations that linger long after the evening ends.

Starting from SAR 79 per person, Diwaniya Evenings is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate the spirit of Saudi culture in its most intimate form.

From AlUla to Venice: Arts AlUla celebrates growing global reach with 20 artists connected to its programmes featured at 61st Venice Biennale

Arts AlUla celebrates the participation of more than 20 Saudi and international artists, who have featured across its programmes, at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Taking place from 9 May to 22 November 2026, the event marks a major milestone, signalling AlUla’s growing role in shaping the global cultural conversation.

Represented across national pavilions, institutional exhibitions and independent programmes, the 2026 Venice Biennale also highlights the global reach of artists that have worked with Arts AlUla including many who have collaborated across its festivals, exhibitions and wider cultural initiatives - reflecting the depth and evolution of AlUla’s growing creative ecosystem. These include leading voices from Saudi Arabia and beyond, who have been championed across AlUla’s rapidly maturing art and design programmes, including at the AlUla Arts Festival, Desert X AlUla, Wadi AlFann, and the AlUla Contemporary Art Museum.

Through site-specific commissions, public art installations, groundbreaking exhibitions and long-term collaborations, these artists have helped to shape international cultural discourse, inspired by the natural, cultural and sociological landscapes of AlUla.

Several of the artists participating at the 2026 Venice Biennale have contributed to Desert X AlUla over its four editions, these include Aseel Alayaqoub, Basmah Felemban, Dana Awartani, Filwa Nazer, Ibrahim Mahama, Kader Attia, Manal AlDowayan, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Monira AlQadiri, Nasser AlSalem and Wael Shawky. Works by Dana Awartani and Manal AlDowayan were acquired as part of the AlUla Public Art Collection.

Dana Awartani, a regular to AlUla with artworks included in Desert X AlUla 2022 and this year’s Arduna exhibition presented by the AlUla Contemporary Art Museum represents Saudi Arabia at the official country pavilion. Supporting her in Venice is assistant curator for the exhibition, Hafsa Alkhudairi, who is curatorial lead at the Royal Commission for AlUla.

Reflecting on her works in AlUla, Saudi-Palestinian artist Dana Awartani said:

“In AlUla, I’m reminded that heritage can be a living, evolving presence, something that inspires contemporary art while remaining firmly rooted in Saudi tradition. It is a city rich in cultural layers that are defined by passage, and those layers continue to influence my work in meaningful ways.”

Since its inception in 2020 as Saudi Arabia’s first biennale, Desert X AlUla has established itself as a pioneering platform for land art. The exhibition serves as a precursor to Arts AlUla’s flagship long-term project, Wadi AlFann, a permanent global cultural destination for contemporary art currently under development in the dramatic desert canyons of AlUla.

This year’s Venice Biennale also features works by globally recognised pioneers Agnes Denes, Manal AlDowayan and Ahmed Mater, who have been commissioned to create monumental permanent works embedded in the landscape of AlUla, as part of Wadi AlFann.

Commenting on her participation at Venice, Saudi artist Manal AlDowayan said: “AlUla is a library of stories. This land holds an archive of narratives and identities that numerous civilisations engraved into its rocks for centuries, telling us about the tools they used, the animals they farmed and the lives they led. If you exist in AlUla today, you are part of its story. It has been a privilege to collaborate with the AlUla community, whom I have been fortunate to work with before and who hold a special place in my heart.”

Meanwhile, there are also several artists participating whose landmark works form part of the AlUla Contemporary Art Museum collection, including Sara Abu Abdullah, Tavares Strachan, Simone Fattal. The museum recently held its inaugural exhibition, Arduna, as part of this year’s AlUla Arts Festival, bringing together regional voices and international masters in a dialogue that reflects AlUla’s growing curatorial confidence and global outlook.

Coinciding with the Biennale, the Saudi Ministry of Culture will also present A Necessary Fiction: Maps, Art, and Models of Our World at the Abbazia di San Gregorio, featuring additional works by the Royal Commission for AlUla’s Abdulmohsen AlBinali and other artists engaged across Arts AlUla’s programmes.

Hamad AlHomiedan, Director of Arts and Creative Industries at the Royal Commission for AlUla, said:

“Congratulations to these pioneering artists. Arts AlUla is proud to see so many of the artists who have engaged with our programmes contributing to this vital edition of Venice Biennale, one of the world’s most significant platforms for contemporary art. Throughout our initiatives, we are committed to collaborating with diverse artists from Saudi Arabia and beyond to develop ambitious works inspired by the distinct cultural and natural context of AlUla. The quality and quantity of artists that we have worked with, present at the 2026 Venice Biennale reflects the strength of the creative relationships and long-term artistic collaborations being developed through Arts AlUla.”

The 61st Venice Biennale runs until 22 November 2026.

The epitome of chic Parisian nonchalance, the Voyou takes its name from French slang for a mischief-maker. Today, it embodies a sense of impertinence rooted in a distinctive attitude and singular spirit.

With the Autumn-Winter 2026 pre-collection, this effortless attitude comes in a new form with the Voyou Bucket, a silhouette distinguished by a single, confident ges-

MICHAEL JACKSON

There are moments in cinema when a story ceases to be about its subject and instead becomes a mirror held up to human ambition itself. The film about Michael Jackson is one such moment, an immersive portrait of brilliance, discipline, and emotional fragility woven into the life of one of the most influential figures in modern culture. It is less a biography and more a meditation on what it costs to transcend ordinary limits: the solitude behind applause, the sacrifice behind perfection, and the invisible weight carried by those who redefine an era.

Watching the film is not simply an encounter with a musical biography, it is a refined exploration of human ambition, discipline, vulnerability, and the emotional architecture behind greatness. True creators are rarely shaped by talent alone; they are formed through sacrifice, relentless repetition, sleepless nights, and an uncompromising belief in purpose.

What makes Michael’s narrative so compelling is not only his artistic brilliance, but the enduring humanity beneath the icon. Despite reaching an unparalleled

global status, his joy often resided in the simplest expressions of life, visiting children in hospitals, engaging with the underprivileged, and embracing moments of innocence that fame could never diminish. The film presents him not merely as an entertainer, but as a deeply sensitive figure whose legacy extends into compassion, humility, and emotional authenticity.

This same language of ambition, intensity, and resilience echoes in Brad Pitt’s portrayal in the contemporary Formula racing film, where determination, precision, and the pursuit of excellence define the human journey.

Both works resonate because they transcend celebrity culture and instead celebrate endurance, discipline, and the psychology of persistence. It is this shared emotional truth that elevates both stories into something larger than cinema. With sequels anticipated for both, audiences are set to experience another chapter of cinematic momentum, intensity, and inspiration.

A recurring point of discussion in Michael’s story is the perceived severity of his father’s discipline. Yet such a narrative demands contextual depth. In a racially divided America, where systemic prejudice against Black communities was deeply embedded, discipline was often interpreted as necessity rather than cruelty.

His father’s strict guidance played a foundational role in shaping The Jackson 5, the platform from which Michael emerged to transform global popular culture. His philosophy, “If you are not among the successful, you are among the failures”, reflects the unforgiving social reality of that era, where excellence was not aspirational but essential for survival and recognition.

Equally significant was Michael’s strategic decision to formalize his independence through legal expertise. His collaboration with entertainment attorney John Branca became a defining pillar in safeguarding

his artistic and commercial legacy. This underscores a critical principle often overlooked in discussions of success: talent alone is insufficient. Behind enduring creative empires lies a framework of legal precision, contractual intelligence, and strategic protection. A skilled lawyer is not merely an advisor, but a structural asset in the architecture of long-term legacy.

Had Michael’s career unfolded in today’s digital era, his global influence would likely have expanded exponentially. The contemporary media ecosystem, driven by streaming platforms and social media, has dismantled traditional barriers, enabling artists to connect directly with audiences at unprecedented scale and speed.

This transformation is also evident in Saudi Arabia’s evolving cultural landscape, where media, creativity, and heritage are being actively redefined.

Institutions such as the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Tourism are playing a central role in advancing creative industries, strengthening intellectual property awareness, and supporting the growth of art, fashion, tourism, and investment ecosystems.

Alongside this institutional evolution, Saudi Arabia has also produced influential figures in humanitarian and cultural leadership, including Prince Sultan bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Princess Adela Bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and Princess Reema Bint Bandar bin Sultan, whose contributions have helped shape a global narrative of progress, responsibility, and cultural diplomacy.

Ultimately, Michael Jackson’s story transcends fame. It is a study of human resilience and emotional depth, an enduring reminder that true legacy is not measured by visibility or acclaim, but by the lasting impact one leaves on humanity.

FROM DESERT SANDS TO GLOBAL ARENAS: THE GROWTH OF POLO IN SAUDI ARABI

AWRITTEN

For centuries, horses have occupied a special place in the culture and history of Saudi Arabia. From the powerful Arabian horse celebrated in poetry and folklore to the Kingdom’s long-standing equestrian traditions, horsemanship has always been deeply connected to Saudi identity. The Arabian horse, famous for its endurance, intelligence, and beauty, is considered one of the world’s oldest and most respected horse breeds. Saudi families have historically valued horse breeding and equestrian skills, and these traditions continue to have a significant influence on society today. In recent years, however, Saudi Arabia has introduced a new chapter in its equestrian story through the growing popularity of polo. Once considered an elite sport primarily associated with Europe and South America, polo is now becoming an increasingly important part of Saudi Arabia’s expanding sports and tourism landscape.

Today, the Kingdom is investing in international sporting events, luxury tourism, and cultural experiences as part of Vision 2030. Polo fits naturally into this transformation because it combines athleticism, elegance, heritage, and international appeal. Events such as the AlUla Desert Polo have garnered global attention, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a major destination for elite sports and entertainment.

Polo is often described as one of the oldest team sports in the world. Historians believe the game originated more than 2,000 years ago, spreading across Asia, India, and eventually Europe. Traditionally

played on horseback by teams using long-handled mallets to strike a small ball, polo requires extraordinary coordination, speed, and communication between rider and horse. The sport has long been associated with royalty, military traditions, and aristocratic society, earning it the nickname “the sport of kings”.

Although polo itself is relatively new in Saudi Arabia compared to traditional horse racing and show-jumping, the Kingdom already possessed many of the cultural foundations necessary for the sport to flourish. The modern rise of polo in Saudi Arabia can largely be linked to the country’s broader efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen its entertainment and tourism sectors. Under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has invested in sports infrastructure, international competitions, and cultural festivals. Football, Formula One, boxing, golf, and equestrian sports have all become part of this national strategy. Polo, with its luxurious image and global audience, perfectly aligns with the Kingdom’s desire to position itself as a destination for world-class events.

One of the most significant milestones in Saudi polo has been the development of polo events. Known for its breathtaking desert landscapes, ancient archaeological sites, and rich history, AlUla has emerged as one of Saudi Arabia’s premier tourism destinations. The introduction of AlUla Desert Polo transformed the region into an international sporting stage unlike any other in the world. Unlike traditional polo tournaments held on green

grass fields, matches in AlUla are played against the dramatic backdrop of sandstone cliffs and desert terrain. The visual spectacle of horses competing across the golden sands creates an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators. Many other polo tournaments, such as the silver and gold cups, have been successfully held in Riyadh.

The success of polo events in Saudi Arabia highlighted the country’s growing ability to organize international sporting competitions. Polo adds another dimension to this strategy because it appeals not only to sports fans but also to luxury travelers and cultural enthusiasts. High-end hospitality, fashion, fine dining, and exclusive social gatherings frequently accompany polo tournaments, making them not only important sporting occasions but also significant economic opportunities.

Beyond tourism and entertainment, polo is also contributing to the development of local equestrian talent. Saudi Arabia has seen increasing interest in riding academies, horse training programs, and polo clubs. Young Saudi riders are now participating in competitions and training opportunities that were previously limited or unavailable. Women’s participation in sports has also expanded significantly in Saudi Arabia in recent years, and equestrian sports have become one of the areas where women are increasingly visible.

Internationally, the Kingdom’s mark on the world of polo was clear and remarkable. One important example is the polo tournament in the United Kingdom, where Saudi participation in high-profile polo

events has strengthened ties with one of the sport’s historic centers. Competing in London-based tournaments has provided Saudi teams with valuable exposure to elite competition, showcasing their capabilities on an international stage.

Another example is the Saudi participation in the Moroccan international (Mohammed the sixth) polo competition, which has also been significant, particularly in international tournaments that bring together top teams from across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. These competitions have provided Saudi players with the opportunity to face experienced opponents, refine their skills, and build a stronger presence within the global polo community.

Closer to home, Saudi Arabia has become a central player in the growth of polo across the Gulf region. Regional tournaments, especially in countries with well-established polo infrastructure, have offered Saudi teams consistent access to high-quality competition in addition to expanding the competitive opportunities and contributing to the overall advancement of polo throughout the Gulf.

A landmark moment for the sport came with the recent official merger of the Saudi Polo Federation and the Saudi Equestrian Federation into the Saudi Equestrian and Polo Federation (SEPF), under the leadership of Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, which marks a decisive step forward for the sport. By unifying governance, resources, and strategic direction, the federation creates a more cohesive and efficient system for developing both polo and equestrian disciplines. This integration allows for stronger talent pathways, better allocation of funding, and a more coordinated international presence, ultimately elevating standards across the board. For polo in particular, it means greater alignment with the Kingdom’s wider equestrian heritage, enhanced opportunities for players, and a stronger platform to compete globally.

This project also reflects our desire to accompany our clients in their daily lives wherever they are, extending the ELIE SAAB universe into every moment of their journey. It is truly a new approach to private aviation, where travel becomes a seamless continuation of refined living,” said Elie Saab Jr., CEO of ELIE SAAB.

Designed as an intimate yet open and highly personalized environment, the cabin translates a refined way of living into the experience of private travel. Bathed in natural light, the interior reveals a serene and spacious sanctuary characterized by fluid architectural lines, expansive sightlines and a warm, harmonious palette. At its centre, a generous lounge area serves as the heart of the cabin, offering an inviting setting designed to foster well-being, connection and effortless comfort.

Behind the refined simplicity of the cabin lies a highly complex and deeply collaborative process. Bombardier’s engineering teams worked hand-in-hand with Elie Saab to translate couture-inspired design into a

fully certifiable aircraft interior, meeting the rigorous technical, safety and performance standards of business aviation.

This exclusive Global 8000 cabin offering marks a defining milestone in Bombardier’s continued evolution, not only as a leader in aviation, but as a brand shaping the future of its industry. Now available to Global 8000 customers as an option, this distinctive cabin concept reflects a natural extension of Elie Saab’s universe into new dimensions of lifestyle and design, reinforcing its ambition to accompany clients wherever they are, and to bring its distinctive design philosophy into every aspect of their lives – even in flight.

The Gentlemen’s Evening

A night of resonance

Acentral presence at the Cannes Film Festival, Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, welcomed her brother Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of the Maison, for an evening they co-hosted in celebration of Chopard Manufacture’s Haute Horlogerie. Overlooking the scintillating Croisette, the Chopard Rooftop set the stage for this refined interlude devoted to craftsmanship.

The space hosted a masterclass dedicated to chiming watches and Chopard’s ‘Sound of Eternity’ curated by Frédéric Brun, who led the session together with Karl-Friedrich and Karl-Fritz Scheufele. Among the guests in attendance were Chopard Ambassador Jacky Ickx, as well as actors Charles Melton, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Sophie Rose MacDowell.

Throughout the evening, guests were invited to explore the acoustic principles behind L.U.C chiming watches, discovering firsthand the meticulous processes that govern tone, resonance and clarity – a demanding discipline

in which Chopard has established itself as a recognised authority. The occasion also marked the unveiling of the limited-edition L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire Edition 2.

Embracing the refined rituals cherished by watch connoisseurs, the evening featured a live cigar-rolling experience, accompanied by curated tastings of fine cognac and aged rhum. An elegant dinner followed, paired with select vintages from Château Monestier La Tour, the biodynamic vineyard acquired by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele in 2012.

The evening concluded under the Cannes stars with an energetic DJ set by Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble).

Set within the untouched beauty of Saudi Arabia’s western coastline, The Red Sea represents a bold reimagining of travel, where regenerative tourism, cultural authenticity, and ultra-luxury converge at an unprecedented scale.

For Aidan, the move is both strategic and deeply personal. At The St. Regis Red Sea Resort, Aidan’s vision is focused on elevating both people and product, with a clear emphasis on service, detail, and consistency across every touchpoint of the guest experience. “Luxury today is defined by people and experiences,” he noted. “It’s about genuine service and holding ourselves to a higher standard, while ensuring our hosts continue to grow within the brand.”

Dream of the Desert, Saudi Arabia’s first ultra-luxury train by Arsenale Group, marked a major development milestone with the opening of its headquarters in Riyadh and the appointment of Raffaele Breschi as General Manager of Dream of the Desert and CEO of Arsenale International. This step marks the next phase of the project’s delivery in the country, reinforcing its central role in Saudi Arabia’s tourism transformation as it advances toward its 2026 debut.

Permanent Riyadh headquarters anchors project within Saudi Arabia’s tourism and transport ecosystem

Raffaele Breschi appointed General Manager of Dream of the Desert and CEO of Arsenale International, reinforcing operational momentum ahead of 2026 launch

Collaboration with national entities accelerates development and destination activation across Saudi Arabia

The establishment of a permanent base in Riyadh anchors the project firmly within Saudi Arabia’s tourism and transport ecosystem and marks Arsenale’s first international headquarters, underscoring a long-term, on-the-ground commitment beyond project development.

Operating from Saudi Arabia’s capital, the project team will work closely with national stakeholders – including the Ministry of Culture (MOC); the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), and the Transport General Authority (TGA); and the Ministry of Tourism, with Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), and the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), the national enabler of Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, to ensure operational readiness and activate cultural and touristic destinations along the route ahead of the inaugural journeys scheduled for the end of 2026.

As the project advances toward launch, Breschi will oversee the end-toend setup of Dream of the Desert in Saudi Arabia, including organisational build-out, regulatory coordination, product development, distribution, talent development, and operational performance.

Breschi brings a strong track record in international expansion and luxury hospitality development. He joined Arsenale Group in 2023 as part of its global leadership team, following senior roles focused on growth across the Middle East, and previously served as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising global developers and sovereign entities on largescale tourism and hospitality strategies.

“Establishing our headquarters in Riyadh reflects our commitment to building Dream of the Desert from within the Kingdom,’’

In parallel to his role as General Manager of Dream of the Desert, Breschi has been appointed CEO of Arsenale International, where he spearheads all Arsenale projects outside Italy. In this capacity, Dream of the Desert remains a flagship project within the international portfolio, with his primary focus centered on its successful delivery and launch in Saudi Arabia.

“Working alongside our national partners enables us to shape a rail experience that is globally distinctive yet deeply rooted in Saudi culture – one that celebrates the Kingdom’s landscapes, heritage, and hospitality while setting a new benchmark for experiential travel in the region.’’

Designed to redefine luxury rail travel globally while showcasing Saudi Arabia’s landscapes, culture and heritage, Dream of the Desert will offer immersive, one to three-day journeys across the country, combining refined onboard hospitality with curated off-board experiences. The project forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism and infrastructure transformation, supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s ambition to position the Kingdom as a leading destination for high-value, culturally rooted travel.

Spanning more than 1,300 kilometers of Saudi Arabia’s existing railway tracks, the route will activate destinations across multiple locations, creating new gateways into the country’s natural and cultural landscapes through curated itineraries that blend craftsmanship, storytelling and destination discovery.

Beyond its luxury travel experience, Dream of the Desert is set to play a meaningful socio-economic role in Saudi Arabia. The project will support hospitality workforce development, with a strong focus on Saudization, enable specialised skills transfer in rail-based guest experience operations, stimulate local supply chains, and contribute to the continued growth of an experiential tourism ecosystem across the country.

With its headquarters now established in Riyadh and leadership focused on delivery, Dream of the Desert moves steadily toward its 2026 debut as one of Saudi Arabia’s most distinctive luxury experiential travel initiatives.

ROWAD MODERN ENGINEERING

COMPLETES DEVELOPMENT OF

THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE’S HEADQUARTERS IN DIRIYAH

Rowad Modern Engineering announced the successful completion of the design and execution of the Ministry of Culture’s headquarters in Diriyah, marking a landmark achievement that reflects the seamless integration of contemporary architecture with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s rich historical identity.

The project encompassed the full scope of design and execution works, beginning with concept development and progressing through detailed engineering, including Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings. Advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies were employed throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high levels of coordination and precision. In addition, sustainability measures were fully integrated in line with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. As one of the world’s most recognized green building rating systems, LEED evaluates projects based on energy efficiency, water and material optimization, and indoor environmental quality. The Ministry of Culture headquarters has successfully achieved LEED Gold certification, underscoring its strong sustainability credentials.

Strategically located in the heart of Diriyah—one of the Kingdom’s most significant cultural and historical destinations—the new headquarters sits near At-Turaif District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project aligns with national strategic priorities under Saudi

Vision 2030, reinforcing the institutional presence of the cultural sector while strengthening its connection to the Kingdom’s historical roots. As the birthplace of the First Saudi State, Diriyah lends the project a unique symbolic and cultural significance.

“Commenting on this achievement, Eng. Mohamed Mahlab, Chief Executive Officer of Rowad Modern Engineering, said: “This project reflects the artistic and engineering value that Rowad Modern Engineering delivers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our approach is grounded in disciplined execution, robust technical governance, and the effective management of multidisciplinary works. When delivering projects with a strong heritage dimension, we adopt a strategic engineering methodology that prioritizes preserving the identity of the place at every stage of design and execution. At the same time, we ensure the delivery of practical, high-performance solutions that respect the site’s historical context and authentically showcase its character. This achievement further reinforces our position as a trusted partner for projects of strategic national importance”.

“Eng. Mohamed Fawzy, General Manager of Rowad Modern Engineering in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stated: “We are proud to have completed the design and execution of the Ministry of Culture’s new headquarters in Diriyah within a record timeframe of no more than 10 months. Spanning an area of 36,000 square meters, the project engaged approximately 2,400 professionals across multiple disciplines and workstreams. It represents a fully integrated delivery of architectural and electromechanical works, executed to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.”

Architecturally, the headquarters draws inspiration from traditional Najdi design principles, reflected in its building forms, materials, and color palette. These elements are reinterpreted within a contemporary architectural framework that achieves a refined balance between authenticity and modernity. The project is carefully integrated into Diriyah’s urban fabric, embodying a broader vision of reviving and celebrating Najdi architectural heritage in a modern institutional context.

The execution scope for the Ministry of Culture headquarters covered all essential disciplines required to deliver the project in compliance with the highest

Saudi and international standards. This included civil and architectural works, mechanical systems and building management systems, electrical works, audiovisual and low-current systems, as well as furnishing works, all executed in accordance with approved specifications and regulatory requirements.

The project stands as a key initiative supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to the development of the cultural sector and enhancing quality of life through the creation of a cohesive and integrated urban environment. In doing so, it reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for culture, heritage, and creativity.
