What started out almost 15 years ago in grandma’s soup pot has grown in recent years into one of the most innovative and "craftiest" small breweries in Austria. LONCIUM, the old Celtic name for the district of Mauthen, in the beautiful Carinthian Gailtal, stands today for „Braukunst“ of the highest level.
The production of the founders Klaus Feistritzer and Alois Planner has from the beginning concentrated on not producing average beer for the masses, but to bring the beer a special something. National and international award-winning specialties have been brewed on-site for years and continue to excite the most astute beer lovers.
Since extending the brewery in 2013 Loncium brews 12 different beer varieties year round, as well as seasonal specialties. Whilst new and exciting special recipes are a cornerstone at Loncium it is just the tip of the iceberg. Guided tours, tastings and brewing seminars round off what the brewery has to offer.
