150th celebration of the fork & tap historic building
Stepping back in time the Fork and Tap celebrated their historic buildings 150 years of standing strong and the community came to immerse themselves in the charm of yesteryear in full Peaky Blinders dress up last Saturday night and honoured the rich heritage of the beloved old girl. With entertainment from the Buckingham Belles, Aerialist Mila and the band The Kollective it was a great night enjoyed by many locals.
Built in 1874, the historic building has stood proudly as a cornerstone of Arrowtown’s community, witnessing generations of stories, laughter, and connection.
Jeannie said "We want to thank you, our community, for your unwavering support. Thank you to the endless people who have worked on and in our old girl, and lastly thank you to all our staff, past and present, you are what makes our place so special." The night was made extra special having Jeannies parents Allan(Shagger) & Barb Hamilton there to enjoy the celebrations.

The
arrowtown school report
Tuesday 17th December marks the date when Arrowtown will bid farewell to two long standing and dearly loved members of Staff. Rose Sutherland and Shirley Forrest retire after chalking up 34 and 25 years at the school respectively.
We celebrated their contribution to Arrowtown School with a function last Friday with friends, family, former and current staff members who spoke of their long standing service to Arrowtown school.
Rose has seen many changes in Arrowtown school over her time. She started when the school was located in Caernarvon street before making the shift to its current site in 1997. Rose has been the Assistant principal in recent years and her calm and measured leadership and experience will be hugely missed.
Shirley has been our literacy champion, especially for those early readers who need that 1-on-1 attention to build their confidence and skills. She has given so many young learners the tools to succeed, not just academically but in life. Both Rose and Shirley are legends at Arrowtown school and will be dearly missed. We wish them well in retirement.
