Sharing the good news about Longview Independent School District
Students learn importance of casting a vote Longview Early Graduation High School held their annual Black History Program on Thursday, Feb. 13. It was based on the National Black History Month theme “African-Americans and the Vote.” The year 2020 marks the 150th Anniversary of the Fifteenth Amendment (1870) which gave black men the right to vote following the Civil War. It also marks the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment and the culmination of the Women’s suffrage movement. Students were encouraged to remember the importance of voting and to remember that this right was gained through much struggle. The days events included an outstanding performance by the Jarvis
STEAM INNOVATION Huge turnout for science fair

here were more than 280 projects presented by more than 400 students at the 2020 STEAM Fair on Saturday, Feb. 8. Students grades 5-12 representing campuses across the district competed for the top places judged by community volunteers.

Cooper Mayes is heading to A&M camp MAYES
