Lingsar, located around ten kilometres northwest of Mataram, is home to an ancient temple complex that is sacred not only to Lombok’s Hindu community, but also to the island’s Muslim and Wetu Telu people.
Pura Lingsar (Pura means “temple”) is a unique site, as it is the only place on Lombok where Balinese Hindus and Sasak Muslims gather to pray and worship together.
The temple is considered sacred by both religions and is an important link to the island’s animist roots. In 1990, the temple complex was declared a cultural conservation site because of its unique history as a symbol of harmony between different cultural and religious groups.

FABULOUS FOOD AND SEA VIEWS … At The Ballroom Restaurant

Puri Mas Boutique Resort in Mangsit is so well known for its lovely private villas and luxurious Spa, that The Ballroom Restaurant at the resort is often overlooked.
Several visits there over the past few months have confirmed what guests at the resort already know: that The Ballroom Restaurant is one of the nicest restaurants on the west coast.
Walking through the pretty gardens of the resort to the restaurant on the beachfront, the ambience and the setting are the first two things that make an impression on diners.
