Over 60 businesses from the Ipswich, Somerset and Lockyer regions attended a networking event held at the Marburg Hotel on Thursday 16th March.

The event was hosted by the Ipswich and Bremer Chambers of Commerce and brought together businesses from all industries to network, share experiences, and hear about what support is available to help them through the Chamber.

“We want to let businesses in the rural areas of Ipswich and the surrounding parts of Somerset and Lockyer know that they are not forgotten, that we are here to help if they need us” said Kit Philp, CEO, Ipswich Region and Bremer Chambers of Commerce.

The Chambers also launched their new network for the food, agribusiness and tourism sectors which they hope will provide a platform for businesses in these industries to identify opportunities to connect and grow.

Elly Rae Ross who represents the Bremer region on the Chamber of Commerce Board, spoke about the history of the chamber in the area and encouraged other local businesses to engage with the Chamber of Commerce and events that they run throughout the year.

“I love the networking events. I have met many lovely people and have the common bond of owning my own business. It’s a lot of fun and being part of the Chamber, I know that if I ever need advice they are there for me”.

In addition to this event, the Chambers have other networking and informational events planned for the year.
