Grievous bodily harm charge, Murphys Creek

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was charged in relation to the alleged serious assault of a man at Murphys Creek, in the Lockyer Valley on Thursday night, March 23.

At approximately 6pm at a Thursa Street address, it is alleged a 23-year-old man began a verbal altercation with a 73-yearold man known to him, before allegedly assaulting him.

The 73-year-old Lockyer man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

Police located the 23-year- old Murphys Creek man at a nearby address a short time later, where he was taken into custody. cer sustained a dog bite injury. They were transported to hospital in a stable condition for treatment, and have since been released.

It will be alleged he attempted to resist arrest.

The 23-year-old man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and obstruct police.

Laidley Police are seeking community assistance to identify two people in relation to theft at a high school.
