aylesford's RBl Village Southern games is a fund raising event on behalf of local charities. organised annually, it is a family fun day involving sports, dance and music and is held at Preston hall. Children of all ages and adults can take part in many of the fun races and activities or just enjoy the variety of demonstrations by local clubs and organisations. despite the disappointing weather at this year's event, it still managed to raise £2,400 for charity and the money was divided equally between the royal British legion, the heart of Kent hospice and demelza hospice Care for Children. the cheques were presented on 5th december by Cllr. dave smith, who is the main organiser for the event, along with other members of the organising committee. lt. Col. d P hobson MnM, JCd received the cheque on behalf of the royal British legion, Karen Warner received the cheque on behalf of demelza hospice Care for Children and richard Chambers received the cheque on behalf of the heart of Kent hospice. the event has been running for two years now and on 9th June 2012 promises to be even bigger with many clubs and organisations already booked. don’t forget to mention the local oracle
