Hello and welcome to the Livingston Theatre Company’s mini-musical production of our 25th Season, The Only Thing That Matters! This process is always a special one during our season, in which we rehearse for only one week! It is a great opportunity for leadership and collaboration without the month-long commitment of a typical LTC process. It has been exciting to watch new LTC members thrive and existing members take on new roles during these rehearsals.
The Only Thing That Matters is a 10-minute musical that fits well into the theme of our 25th season, in which we will reflect on and embrace being different. With the structure of our society today, it is easy to fall into the trap of trying to fit in, but we would like to represent the goal of standing out. Each of our productions this season reinforces the idea that what makes us different is what makes us special. In this show, three sisters find themselves at extremely different places in life, and they find that these variations are stopping them from connecting with each other. Throughout the story, we see that Ally and Mystie are unable to hear Kerri because they do not agree with how she has chosen to live her life, but once we know the characters deeper, we realize that Kerri did not have much of a choice based on what she has been through. Our differences come from our life experiences. We can be quick to judge others without understanding their point of view.
Kerri represents the story of many survivors who are victimized for their own assault and abuse. To help portray her story, we are donating all profits from this production to Women Aware. Women Aware works to create a society free of violence and injustice. They provide several services to survivors of domestic violence. You can learn more about Women Aware on the following page.
We thank you for attending, supporting, and witnessing this incredibly important show.

The Only Thing That Matters is a musical performed as one continuous piece of music.

The Livingston Theatre Company, Rutgers’ Premiere Musical Theatre Organization, is a home for theatrical arts at Rutgers University. Founded in the fall of 1998, the LTC provides quality and affordable musical theater to Rutgers students and the communities of Central New Jersey.
The Livingston Theatre Company is open to all undergraduate students of Rutgers University, regardless of college affiliation or major. We encourage all students to take part in productions, and to attend our open meetings, special events, shows, and auditions. We have opportunities for actors, directors, designers, stage crew, musicians, business people, and student leaders. Each year, hundreds of students from across the university get involved in our main stage productions. If you are interested come to our General Interest Meeting during the opening weeks of each semester, or to any of our open General Board meetings throughout the year.
The Livingston Theatre Company produces three musicals per year. Our productions run for several performances over one weekend. Throughout our storied history, productions have taken place in both the College Hall of the Livingston Student Center (the new and old), as well as Crossroads Theater in the theater district of downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey. We are dedicated to bringing both famous and lesser known musicals to Rutgers.
The Livingston Theatre Company is completely run by undergraduate students are Rutgers in New Brunswick from all schools. The head of the company is a 4 member Executive Board, which is elected by the membership, and a General Board that is chosen through applications and interviews. Anyone may apply, and selection is based upon experience and enthusiasm. Production positions such as directors, choreographers, musical directors, stage managers, and designers and technicians are also filled for specific shows via application and interviews. Anyone interested in becoming a part of the company, in any position, should check out the Getting Involved links at the top of the page for more information.
After a storied history, the LTC has established a strong base of alumni who continue their support to the organization. We always love having our alumni back, and enjoy a strong support system from them as well.
