Together Against Cancer (TAC) works differently from most other healthcare charities. Based at Troon Way Business Centre in Leicester , their Education and Wellness Centre provides free support to cancer patientspatients andand theirtheir carers by offering complementary therapies, one to one guidance, nutritional advice, counselling, support groups, coaching, healing sessions and lots of wellbeing workshops.
With 1 in 2 people predicted to experienceexperience somesome typetype of cancer , this is something that affects us all. This means that people need the support that charities such as TAC offer , more now than ever before. Did you know that around 38% of cancers are preventable? Simple lifestyle changes such as eating healthy, stopping smoking, reducing alcohol intake, losing excess weight and becoming more active will stack the odds in your favour. Stress and poor diet are the two biggest factors of a poorly functioning immune system.
T TAC’s main aim is to increase awareness of nutrition and wellbeing through a range of programmes including weekly workshops such as Nutritional Healing, Gut Health and Stress-Less. Stephen , who also runs the workshops is a trained Naturopathic Nutritional therapist and provides one-to-one nutritional coaching to clients and carers at the Centre or over the phone. Melanie, as well as running the operations side of the Centre, is the in-house plant-based Chef who facilitates the healthy eating workshops and provides healthy organic vegan lunches at workshops and events. Whilst the Centre is based in Leicester , the services provided extend across the UK through the charity’s online support.
Without funding from our amazing fundraisers and help from our inspirational volunteers, we would not be able to support people with cancer who urgently need our services.
