Welcome

TO THE 2023 GOLF SEASON

Welcome to the 2023 golf season at The Ledges. We are excited to introduce our golf programs for 2023. With a new year comes hope for more opportunity to play and improve our golf games. Included in this booklet will be all of our instruction opportunities as well as our full schedule of events. We have added a couple of new events to this year’s calendar, so make sure you go all the way through it and pencil in where you might want to participate. I want to highlight a few of our events that comes from the growth of our ladies golf program. We are going to do a Sadie Hawkins Scramble where each lady will invite three gentlemen to form a team for a scramble. We have also added a Couples Club Championship to the calendar. The Golf Professional Staff wants to thank you for all your support and we can’t wait to see all of you out on the course on a regular basis this season.

AGRONOMY

Agronomy Welcome

The Ledges Agronomy team is looking forward to the 2023 golf season. We are pleased to welcome two new hires to the Agronomy department, Wyatt Kotary as Superintendent and Trandon Ailey as First Assistant Superintendent.

Through our continuous improvements, it is our mission to not only make The Ledges the number one course in the state, but a course our membership is proud to call home.

There are a few things that you, the golfer, can do to help us all achieve that mission.

Rake bunkers after hitting in them.

Repair ball marks on the greens.

Use sand in carts to fill divots.

Thank you as we work together to make The Ledges the best it can be. We truly hope you enjoy this golf season.

With three skill levels and four class options to choose from, instruction and drills will be highly focused and targeted for each group.

BEGINNER GROUP

WEDNESDAYS 5:30-7:00 P.M.

Beginning with basic fundamentals, this group is designed for women brand new to the game of golf. May and June will be spent learning how to make consistent contact with the ball, followed by an introduction to the golf course in July. August will be spent playing on the golf course and by September the group will be ready for friendly competition.

INTERMEDIATE GROUPS

TWO OPTIONS

THURSDAYS 5:30-7:00 P.M., OR FRIDAYS 9:00 - 10:30 A.M.

Designed for ladies who have completed one year of clinics, this class will sharpen skills with a focus on improving contact. May will be spent with refresher lessons on basic fundamentals, followed by swing-based drills in June. The focus in July will be golf course management, learning when to hit which club to make the best possible scores. In the past, August and September have been spent playing group scrambles - not this year. The focus of August and September will be playing your own ball.

ADVANCED GROUP

THURSDAYS 10:00-11:30 A.M.

Designed for ladies who have completed two or more years of clinics and experienced players, this group will be on the course each week playing their own ball. Instruction will place an emphasis on consistency and confidence.
