THE ROOMS The Lawrence is award winning hotel, housed in a two hundred year old Grade II listed building, owned by local entrepreneur Michael Huckerby, it boasts 14 design-led bedrooms spread over the main house and the old stables. It also features The Courtyard bar and restaurant, three function and conference rooms and an outside roof terrace and courtyard. At the heart of The Lawrence lays the wedding space which holds up to 80 in the day time and 150 at night.

The 19th century hotel was renovated in 2018 and after extensive work. The hotel offers a bespoke experience for guests, created with a luxury yet timeless style, giving guests an escape from home without the hassle of a long drive or train ride. The design-led boutique hotel was inspired by some of the leading hotels in the world but in keeping with features of the original building, with luxurious roll top baths, classic subway tiles in the bathroom, Victorian tiled floors and beautiful sash windows.

The main house has been completely renovated and now houses one suite, two signature rooms, two superior rooms, two family rooms and seven snugs.

The Aya suite is the jewel in this hotel’s crown, with an extravagant floating bathroom created as the centrepiece, the suite sits across two floors and is the ultimate in luxury.

The five different room types all follow The Lawrence’s signature timeless style, and each of the rooms boasts a rainfall shower big enough for two, Temple Spa bath & shower products, robes, Amazon echos, big TVs with Netflix, Superiors and above feature little touches like Nespresso machines installed in each.

We are passionate about creating a bespoke experience for guests staying at The Lawrence, leaving sweet treats for visitors and offering an inhouse therapist who provides relaxation treatments in guests’ rooms. Dog sitting, room service and yoga mat rental are all available to enhance your stay.

The Courtyard is open Thursday to Saturday evenings 6pm until late and Sunday afternoons 12pm until 6pm.

We are open to hotel guests and non residents.

Our dinner menu changes bi monthly and is inspired by local produce and influenced by classic British cooking.

Sundays we offer traditional roasts with delicious gravy and perfect Yorkshire puddings, why not top it off with sticky toffee pudding or Lancashire cheese and biscuits. Two courses £19.95 or Three courses £24.95.

THE HOME OF CELEBRATIONS We a love a party. Birthdays, Anniversary, infact any excuse for a celebration.

We can cater for your party in either the Courtyard restaurant or if you would like a private room we have different spaces ranging from 8 people to 80.

Our private dining menus start from £32.50 with arrival drink options from £4.00.

CELEBRATION OR CATCH UP BABY SHOWER OR GENDER REVEAL We love a celebration and what is bigger than a new baby on the way. We cater from 6 to 60 people and how you celebrate is up to you. The choices are endless from buffets, formal lunches, BBQs or our most popular Afternoon Tea option.

AFTERNOON TEA There is nothing more British than afternoon tea. Homemade cakes, endless tea and coffee and sandwiches is what we call High Tea. Add in scones, cream and jam and top it off with soup and sausage roll and you have The Lawrence Ultimate Afternoon Tea

COMEDY NIGHTS We don't just do comedy nights, we do quality comedians with TV exposure with locally sourced food and great drinks in an intimate setting. These events sell out time and time again so keep an eye on our facebook or emails for upcoming events.

Food it's not the first thing you think about when booking a meeting or a conference but we guarantee you it's the thing you will remember when you leave us. From homemade cakes with your coffee breaks to a breakfast buffet on arrival or burger heaven lunch, we are serious foodies and we cant wait to share it with you.

Space Our Courtyard room sits up to 80 theatre style and we have three breakout rooms which can hold 8-12 people each.
