THE LATEST SCOOP ON...
Welcome to the MARCH/APRIL issue of THE LATEST SCOOP® In this issue you’ll find illustrations by automotive artist, Russell Fischer, of Loveland, CO. Russell grew up in the rural Midwest in the 1960’s and credits Andrew Loomis’ Fun With a Pencil book with his interest in art. In the early 70’s he discovered a Hot Rod magazine with art by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth which started his lifelong love for odd cartoon characters and hot rods. He attended art school in Atlanta, GA and realized the commercial art scene was not for him. After moving to Loveland in 1987 he immersed himself in Loveland’s thriving art scene working with some great sculptors. While working with talented sculptor, Hollis Williford and his brother Ronnie, Russell spent the next twelve years working on various forms of art, sculpture, jewelry design, forged iron design, etchings, woodblock prints and drawing. Russell can be reached at 970-222-4880, but is not accepting commissions at this time since he’s busy working on his own projects. Special thanks to Russell for sharing his art with us! EXCITING UPDATE! The upcoming editions of THE LATEST SCOOP® are going digital with vibrant, full-color online edition! To make sure you know when each edition is released, please confirm your preferred email address by reaching out to us at info@scoopautoevents. com or giving us a call at 970-686-6155 or scanning QR code in this issue. Thank you for your support as we embark on this exciting new chapter! Check out the sample edition of the JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2025 issue of THE LATEST SCOOP® at www.scoopautoevents.com while we work towards going digital. We are saddened to report the passing of Nate Oettinger, the CEO of Auto Weave Upholstery West in Wheat Ridge, CO in a tragic car accident on Dec. 23, 2024. Nate was responsible for many of the beautiful interiors you’ve seen in many street rods and show cars throughout the nation. You can visit www.Harancares.com to leave a memory or plant a tree. We are also saddened to report the passing of William “Bill” Miller at age 91 of Arvada, CO. Bill was a longtime Ford Shelby enthusiast and the proud owner of a Shelby GT-350H which he raced for 39 years as a member of Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (RMVR). He is credited with being the only person to race in all fifteen of the Steamboat street races back in the day. See the obituary and leave a memory at www.dignitymemorial.com Fans of actor Tim Allen might want to check out “Shifting Gears.” Tim’s character is a “vehicle customization professional.” The show airs on ABC on Wednesdays and has paired up with Ziebart, who operates 400+ automotive appearance & protection service locations in the U.S. and 1300 service centers in 37 countries. President and CEO of Ziebart, Thomas Wolfe explains, “Shifting Gears is a reminder of the pride, satisfaction and connection we feel when we take care of something we love. Tim Allen has famously called Michigan home since he was a child, so it seemed only natural for Ziebart-a company famously rooted in the Detroit area-to collaborate with ‘Shifting Gears’ all while highlighting car restorations. Customers can receive an upgrade on services as well as a complimentary “Shifting Gears” shammy.
