It’s nearing the end of the year and therefore the end of the show season, which can only mean one thing: the return of the GREAT BRITISH LAND ROVER SHOW. Taking place on Sunday 25 November, the NAEC at Stoneleigh Park will once again play host to the UK’s biggest indoor Land Rover spectacular, providing a mecca for each and every type of Green Oval fan out there.

The show, which is being headlined

by BFGoodrich, will consist of two

packed show halls full of exhibitors, an off-road course where visitors can signon for a chance to stretch the legs of their very own Land Rover, plus there’s always time for a spot of sightseeing with the Land Rover-only parking.

And for the very first time, the Great British Land Rover Show will be debuting the all-new Restoration Zone.

Here, companies from around the UK will be exhibiting their latest and greatest rebuilds, giving you the opportunity to gather ideas for your own restoration,

or even tempting you into purchasing a rejuvenated classic to add to your ever-growing collection.

With plenty of Land Rovers to admire, both inside and out, plus the latest parts and accessories on offer (ideal for some Christmas stockings!), now is the time to snap up those few remaining advanced tickets, with admission set at £7.50 per person or a £12.50 fee on the day.

The only thing left to do is turn up, enjoy the Green Oval festivities and see out the show season with a bang.

elcome to the 2018 Great British Land Rover Show – it promises to be epic.

On Sunday 25 November, you can come on down once more to the NAEC Stoneleigh Park, just outside Coventry, and be mesmerised by the spectacle that is the UK’s largest indoor Land Rover show. And it’s all for you!

Head on in through Stoneleigh’s accommodating show halls and away from the rain, and pass through the BFGoodrich Land Rover Line-up, featuring a selection of cherry-picked Green Oval machines, ranging from the vintage Series machines, through to the state-of-the-art offerings from Jaguar Land Rover’s current crop.

Our two show halls will be bustling with exhibitors, stocked with the most innovative and varied collection of Land Rover parts and accessories around, all waiting to be taken home

with you, maybe even as an early Christmas present…

The workshop demonstration, sponsored by Terrafirma, will be a drop-in segment of the show, with an ongoing tutorial running throughout the day on the fitment of shock absorbers.

And once you’ve seen them fitted, you can put your own shocks through their paces, as the 2.4-mile off-road course will be available to drive around, with tickets priced at £10 in advance or £15 on the day.

There will also be a brand-new Restoration Zone at the show. The space will allow specialists, including JE MotorWorks, to showcase the fruits of their expertise, with some of the very best restorations from around the UK on display.

Another new addition to the show is the club space situated outside the main entrance of the show, where Land Rover clubs and groups are being offered 10 x 10-metre stands.

The space comes with four exhibitor passes and three vehicle passes for the stand, and clubs can book their space by calling 01283 553244 – the space is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Advanced tickets are still available at £7.50 per person, and everyone who pre-books will also be entered into a draw for over £1,000 worth of prizes. The kitty includes the keys to the Traxxas TRX-4 Defender rock crawler, a selection of Ring inspection lamps and torches and ten year-long subscriptions to this very publication!

Those driving a Land Rover of any sort will be given the option to follow signs and directions to our special

Land Rover car park. Visitors to the show will be able to view the cars in this car park as part of their visit to the show should they wish!

Please note, our Land Rover car park has limited capacity. Cars are parked as in any area of the show at owner’s own risk.

hat with an off-road course to play on, two show halls packed full of exhibitors, Land Rover-only parking... and crucially a bar, you might be forgiven for thinking that we’re spoiling you as this November’s Land Rover showpiece returns.

Alongside the off-road course, which is being supported by the All Wheel Drive Club, and opened up for drivers to lap round at £10 a go, there will be all the usual facilities of the restaurant and bar and please do remember that your furry friend (the dog) can come along for the day as well.

ud-terrains come and mud-terrains go, but for almost four decades BFGoodrich has been the name behind THE Mud-Terrain. Earlier this year the company launched its new Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 – the third-generation version of a tyre which has become a ‘Hoover’ brand in the world of off-roading.

With the arrival of the KM3, BFG says it has ‘introduced technologies that further improve climbing, traction and toughness in the mud and over rock.’ The company promises a five percent improvement in traction on soft ground compared to the old KM2, thanks to ‘mud-phobic’ bars on the tyre’s shoulders which aid self-cleaning by ejecting compacted material.

They’re aided in this by the tyre’s ‘Terrain-Attack’ tread pattern, whose large blocks are designed to grip on to hard ground, or bite into softer surfaces, whatever the angle of approach. BFG says the tyre’s compound makes it eight percent more effective than the KM2 over rocks, with a ‘Linear Flex Zone’ designed to wrap around hard surfaces when running at low pressures.

Performance over muddy and rocky surfaces alike is aided by notches in the tyre’s shoulders, which flow down into a ‘Traction-Armor Sidewall Sculpture’ whose reinforced structure helps

prevent damage to the most vulnerable part of the carcass.

The sidewalls themselves are now an astonishing 27% tougher than the previous model’s, thanks to BFG’s CoreGard Max technology – as used on its Baja T/A KR3 desert-racing tyres – which helps prevent splitting or puncturing, with increased thickness to protect the ‘critical sidewall failure zone.’

BFGoodrich says the KM3 ‘was designed to conquer the toughest off-road challenges with extreme sidewall protection, pinch shock resistance and chip-and-tear resistance on gravel.’ But just as importantly, it also offers ‘solid street performance and acceptable on-road noise levels for the drives to and from the trail.’

‘The KM3 tyre is designed for extreme toughness and traction and is essential equipment for serious offroad enthusiasts,’ says BFG general manager Harold Phillips. ‘Whether simply driving for off-road fun, or the extreme capability to access outdoor

activities, this tyre was made to take drivers anywhere they want to go.’

The KM3 is currently in the middle of a phased launch which will ultimately see a total of 42 sizes available, 21 of them new, by January 2019.

f there is one place you’ll visit and quickly develop withdrawal symptoms from on departure, it’s Llanerchindda Farm.

One of the favoured choices should be the on-site cottage which is the place to be for anyone planning a group green laning holiday to the area.
