PRESERVING OUR ENVIRONMENT

The Landings has been named as Georgia’s first Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community, furthering our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Since the 1970s, The Landings has been protecting and preserving the maritime forest, salt marshes, tidal estuaries and centuries-old oak canopies found on Skidaway Island—from smart planning using lagoons for runoff to preserving native plants that let wildlife flourish.
Skidaway Farms, our thriving community garden, offers residents plots to rent, master gardening classes, a beehive, and children’s garden.
Sharing the island with us are the 500-acre Skidaway Island State Park, the UGA campus and Skidaway Island Institute of Oceanography, offering programs and volunteer opportunities.

SIX CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSES, ONE MEMBERSHIP*

Enjoy unique challenges and incredible views from any of our six championship golf courses
The Landings Golf & Athletic Club offers you the extraordinary opportunity to play six private championship golf courses created by such masters as Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio. Each of these spectacular courses are within our community’s gates.
Marshwood, originally designed by Palmer and Frank Duane, offers incomparable views of Romerly Marsh and Wassaw Sound. Magnolia, also designed by Palmer in collaboration with Ed Seay, is regarded as a difficult test of any golfers skills. At the southern end of the island, the Byrd-designed Terrapin Point course has the distinction of being the only links style course, stretching out to the tip of the island and returning to the grand Palmetto clubhouse.
The Hills designed Palmetto course is considered the most difficult of the courses, and has the honor of hosting most of the club championship final rounds. Oakridge, also designed by Hills, is a shot maker’s delight, while a $7.7 million renovation of Deer Creek by Tom Fazio provides members with a user-friendly, but challenging course with wide fairways and tough par threes. Deer Creek is now home to the Korn Ferry Tour - Club Car Championship.
Four first class practice facilities featuring driving ranges, chipping greens with bunkers and a multitude of putting greens, a Golf Performance Center with industry leading technology, along with an instructional program offered by a staff of PGA and LPGA pros make The Landings golf beyond compare.

CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF AT THE LANDINGS GOLF & ATHLETICS CLUB*

MARSHWOOD COURSE
Architect: Arnold Palmer Established: 1974 Private/6,904 Yards/Par 72
The first course at The Landings, a collaboration of Arnold Palmer and Frank Duane, was opened July 1974. In 2003, course architect, Tim Liddy, helped rebuild the greens and bunkers, update drainage and irrigation systems and install new concrete cart paths. Weaving through the oaks and pines of the Island and offering spectacular views of Romerly Marsh, Marshwood is noted as one of our tightest courses. The 12th, a par three facing Romerly Marsh and Wassaw Sound, is perhaps the most scenic at The Landings.
MAGNOLIA COURSE
Architect: Arnold Palmer Established: 1977 Private/6,891 Yards/Par 72
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay collaborated to build this, our second course, with the front nine opening in 1977 and the back in 1979. Major recent renovations improved playability, drainage, irrigation systems, added concrete cart paths and a 5th set of tees. Featuring many twists and turns, plus six holes with water, your precision is sure to be tested on the front nine. Be prepared to step your game up more for the increasingly difficult back nine, ending in a tough par four which features a lagoon along the entire right side of the hole.
TERRAPIN POINT COURSE
Architect: Willard C. Byrd Established: 1982 Private/6,837 Yards/Par 72
At the Southern end of the island, our third course, opened March 1982. Course architect Clyde Johnston assisted the Club in giving the course a facelift with new concrete cart paths, bunkers, irrigation system and drainage, and a 5th set of tees in 2004. The front nine goes out to the southwesterly tip of the island. The back returns to the Palmetto Clubhouse. The entire course offers incomparable views of marshes, lagoons and oaks. Tight fairways require precise ball placement to have a good shot to the greens.
Our 6 distinct private courses are easily accessible. All are within our gates and just a golf cart ride away.

PALMETTO COURSE
Architect: Arthur Hills Established: 1985 Private/6,941 Yards/Par 72
Arthur Hills designed this course, considered by many to be our most challenging. Our fourth course, it opened October 1985. In 2005, new concrete cart paths were poured, new irrigation system, new drainage, bunkers, a bulkhead around the 5th green, and an additional set of tees were created. The first six holes issue the challenge. The next nine are a little reprieve, but look out for the 16th, 17th and 18th. The 10th hole has one of the most beautiful oak trees on the island. The Palmetto Clubhouse overlooks the peninsula green of the 18th.
OAKRIDGE COURSE
Architect: Arthur Hills Established: 1988 Private/6,603 Yards/Par 72
Arthur Hills, after his triumph at Palmetto, was asked to design a different type of course at Oakridge and the results are wonderful. Opened in 1988, it is a course of moderate length, but Hills use of water, bunkers, marsh, and his famous trademark split level fairways makes this course one of the sportiest on the island. The 15th hole, known to all as “the Cemetery” because of the small family plot to the left of the fairway (where Elcy Waters resides in perpetuity), is to many the trademark hole of The Landings.
DEER CREEK COURSE
Architect: Tom Fazio Established: 1991 Private/7,094 Yards/Par 72
Designed by Tom Fazio and opened summer 1991, Deer Creek is a challenging course for all skill levels. Its wide fairways offer solace to those who spray it a little, but the par 3’s are the toughest on the island. The 18th is a beautiful par five, played along and then over the marsh to the green, situated behind the Deer Creek Clubhouse offering diners a wonderful view. In 2009, Tom Fazio returned to oversee the modernization of the course. Greens were rebuilt, closely mown, chipping swales added and the cart paths were completely redone.
