LORRI KIDDER

Audit Partner

Carr, Riggs & Ingram

What is your business? I am an audit partner with Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI). CRI, a full-service accounting firm providing tax, audit, review, compilation, bookkeeping, internal audit, business advisory services, and more. I am a single audit specialist within CRI, working with many governments and nonprofit entities on their Federal and State of Florida single audits. In addition, I serve several clients as their internal auditor.

What does a typical day look like for you? I usually begin my day by going through my “to-do” list and determining what needs to be addressed. In this business, we are driven by deadlines, so ensuring our engagement teams are on task and have what they need to complete those tasks. Communication with staff and clients is a big part of my day.

Who is your ideal customer/client? My ideal client needs or wants my assistance, whether for an audit, review, compilation, CFO to Go services, internal audit, or business advisory services. For me, it is most gratifying when I can provide services that bring value to the organization and that they truly appreciate. I like to develop a relationship with my clients such that we are in touch throughout the year and have no surprises at year-end.

What do you like about doing business in Lakewood Ranch? Ranchers are so friendly! I love the community feel and how the Ranchers come together to help and support the businesses in our area. I’m impressed with how business professionals come together to help others and promote business in our area.

How has the LWRBA helped make connections? I have met so many people since I moved here in May of 2020 (not an easy time to move to a new area). I have made numerous connections, which in turn created more connections and organizations in which I have gotten involved. I joined the Economic Impact Committee. I immediately volunteered to assist on subcommittees. I strongly recommend getting involved as it is a great way to learn more about the LWR area and the businesses here.

What is your favorite “fun thing to do” when you’re not working? I love to get out and enjoy all of the open-air venues in our area and the live music. What a beautiful area to live in! I also love the opportunity to get all three of my adult children and their families together. Adult children are awesome, and grandchildren are even better! I have one granddaughter, and that part of my family lives out of town, so I try to visit as often as possible. When I am able to get away, I enjoy a cruise. It is such a great way to really disconnect.
