Tell us a little bit about the company you work for. Northern Trust is a preeminent global financial institution that provides asset servicing, investment management and wealth management services for institutions, high-net-worth individuals and families. Northern Trust has had a local presence for 45 years in Sarasota and for 23 years in Lakewood Ranch.

Please describe your job/position? I help my clients identify and achieve their financial goals by building an investment plan specifically designed around their unique needs. Additionally, I serve as my clients’ point of contact for any investment management needs to help them understand and navigate the financial markets.

What does a typical day look like for you? One of the best parts of my career is that no day is typical. I spend much of my day following the markets or meeting with clients. This includes portfolio reviews, client calls, analyzing investment options, and understanding the economic and geopolitical environment

How has the LWRBA and YLA helped make connections? The YLA has been pivotal in providing an environment for me to work on my networking skills. Networking used to be uncomfortable for me, but through YLA events and mentors I have met in the larger alliance, I now have the confidence to walk into a room filled with complete strangers and make meaningful connections.

What is your best piece of business advice you would give to other young professionals? No matter your role, be excellent. It doesn’t matter if you are in the mail room or the C-suite, always push yourself to be the best. If you talk to many of today’s leaders, you will find that their journey, like many of ours, once started at the bottom.

What is your favorite “fun thing to do” when you’re not working? My wife and I spend much of our free time traveling and attending music festivals around the world. When at home, I enjoy reading self-improvement books and doing yard work.
