Halloween Weekend Events With Halloween coming up this weekend, several events are happening throughout the valley. And with COVID still around some parents are still hesitant from taking their kid’s door to door for trick or treating, one option for them is to go to an event together as a family. Once again, the City of La Feria Police Department will be having their annual trick or treat giveaway on Sunday, October 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 115 East Commercial Ave. They will be having music, photo ops and of course don’t forget the treats! Another local event that is being put together by the First United Methodist Church of La Feria, First Baptist Church in La Feria, and New Hope Presbyterian Church is their fall fun get together. The Halloween fun will take place on October 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church parking lot at 331 S. Main Street in La Feria. They ask for everyone to join them for hotdogs, goodies, and other fun activities!

If you are looking to start some Halloween early, some local events will happen on Saturday, October 30. First, the City of Harlingen will be hosting a free event Halloween in the Park from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The fun will be located at the newly upgraded Lon C. Hill Destination Park. The Park is located between the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium and the Boys & Girls Club of Harlingen. The city of Mercedes will also be hosting some fun on the 30th with a haunted house, food, vendors, a candy giveaway, and a costume party. It will be their 1st Annual National Night Out Halloween Bash. The event will take place at the Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlets located at 5001 E. Expressway 83. The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you will be taking your kids trick or treating door to door, make sure to follow the safety tips that we’ve listed on the back page.
