UGANDA 2014 EXPEDITION Promoting educa tion as a force for good by enabling and empowering the voice of youth

Nabugabo rising… Our journey lasted roughly 16 hours… starting at 4 o’clock and ending in paradise at 7:30 the following morning. Nothing can ever prepare you for the first moment when you step out of the aeroplane and breathe the long, addictive essence of the Ugandan air, feeling the warm African wind on your face. I cried and cried even though I couldn’t stop smiling. After that perfect breakfast and seeing all those perfect people, I slept for a while because you need a good healthy energy to live everything properly. We then went to school and I watched as each person was slowly intoxicated by the magic of the place and people, just as I have been for the last 4 years. Ritah has grown, Gena is beautiful, Trevor is in school and everything is amazing.

This is my perfect haven. One day I won’t go home! Chloe Lawrence, M5.
