Ms. Twaneka S. Brown, also known as “Neka” was born on May 21, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia as the 2nd born to Sandra Shelley and Timothy Brown. She departed this life on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Twaneka confessed hope in Christ as a little girl at Green Forest Baptist Church. She then became a member of the Dream Center Church in Decatur, Georgia.
Twaneka grew up in East Atlanta where she attended Tilson Elementary School. She later moved to the southside of Atlanta and attended Crawford Long Middle School and graduated from South Atlanta High School with the mighty class of 2003. She later attended Atlanta Technical College where she earned her degree in cosmetology.

After college, Twaneka brought into this world her miracle baby, her daughter, Taeja Miracle. Twaneka embodied an overwhelmingly loving personality and spread her charm and warm spirit everywhere she went. Neka was the one that would try to throw any part or event just to have her family together. No matter what she had going on, she would make sure everyone was good even when she wasn’t. Twaneka battled lupus/kidney failure for 17 years. She fought a long fight. She was the strongest person on earth to go through and conquer what she went through and still walked around with a smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her grandparent, Emory Brown; aunt, Tonya Battle and uncles, Roderick Brown, Sr., and Frank Taylor, Jr.
Twaneka enjoyed cooking, traveling, doing hair, nails, making treats and spending time with her family. Twaneka leaves to cherish her precious memoires, her life-long partner, Mykeria Hendrix; daughter, Taeja Al-badee; parents, Sandra (Henry) Shelley and Timothy (Vickie) Brown; grandparents, Carlene Brown (Arthur); sisters, Tiffany Kent (Anthony), Tyesha Battle and Daphne Brown; brothers, Pierre Brown (Simone), Trevoris Shelley and Robert Johnson, Jr.; two closest best friends, Jaquita Parham and Tameler Anthony; aunt, Latrellis Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
