BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life, we loved you dearly; in death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Terry Lawrence Jennings, affectionately known as "TJ," transitioned from this life on April 26, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on September 17, 1962, in Queens, New York, to the late Richard Oliver Tunnell and Georgia Ann Collins, Terry was a man whose life was defined by faith, service, and
Terry received Christ into his life at a young age while attending Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, Georgia. He graduated from Haralson County High School in Tallapoosa, where he was a talented hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He went on to DeVry Institute of Technology, where he received a degree in electrical technology. During his educational journey, he attended the Interdenominational Theological Center to study theology and pastoral care. This journey laid the foundation for his lifelong ministry.
Terry truly possessed the heart to serve others. He worked consistently and persistently for the Red Cross and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution throughout his career, but his true love emerged when he began his adventure with the Henry County School System. Known warmly as "Mr. Jennings," he was a cornerstone of his campus, admired equally by the students he mentored and the colleagues he supported.
Terry’s life was deeply rooted in his devotion to God. Ordained as Reverend Terry Jennings at Wheat Street Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. Michael Harris, he served as an Associate Minister for 20 years. Rev. Jennings had a tremendous love and skill for worshiping through song. He sang God's praises in several ensembles and choirs, most notably with the Wheat Street Gospel Choir. He also lent his talents to the Atlanta Classic Soulful Symphony, directed by the acclaimed
