Marlon Melson, Jr was born on August 3, 1989 in Norfolk, Virginia to Ananda Harris and Marlon Melson, Sr. As a child, Marlon excelled in music and artistic creations. Marlon had the opportunity to move around the country with his family from Virginia, to California, then to Georgia. After high school, Marlon went on to study at Savannah State University and was currently enrolled at University of North Georgia to continue his studies in accounting. He was a musical artist and had an impeccable ear for the guitar. Marlon enjoyed listening to music of all genres but especially loved playing the guitar in his band 38Snub. He poured his heart, soul, and spirit into his guitar, even when he was just playing it for fun. Marlon was a kind and gentle soul who guided his family and friends with support and love whenever and wherever he could.

Marlon Melson, Jr. is survived by his mother Ananda Harris (John Harris IV) and father Marlon Melson, Sr., his brothers Zion “Gabe” Melson, Zion Harris, Langston Harris, and Sloan Harris, and his sisters Jessica Rodriguez Melson and Marielle Dawson Melson, and his Grandmother Yael Shaner. He is survived by a plethora of cousins, aunts, uncles, and godparents.

Marlon is welcomed in heaven with his Grandfather Robert Brantley, Grandmother Wilhelmina Melson, Great Grandmother Sadie Francis Ransom Melson, Great Grandfather James Calvin Melson, Great Grandmother Harriet Ann Tanksley and Great Grandfather Norman Tanksley.

In these moments of shared heartbreak, let the love we harbor for Marlon Melson, Jr. be a musical note, guiding us through the pages of life.

Closing Word and Benediction Master of Ceremony

We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
