Hattie Bell Strozier, affectionately known as Feenie, was born on September 1, 1934, in Talbotton, Georgia, to the late Danus and Mattie Pearl Moon. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and devotion to family.

In 1954, Feenie married Freeman Strozier Jr., and together they built a home filled with laughter and care, raising five children: Marvin, Curt, Marsha, Mechelle, and Hazel. She was educated through the Talbot County Public School System and began her career at Levolor Blind Company. Later, following her heart for helping others, Feenie pursued training at Atlanta Area Technical School, earning certification in elder care. She dedicated her later years to serving with compassion at A.G. Rhodes Nursing Home, where her gentle spirit touched countless lives.

Feenie’s faith was her foundation. She worshiped at Greater Philadelphia Independent Methodist Church in Talbotton and, after moving to Atlanta, became a devoted member of Center Hill Baptist Church, remaining faithful until her transition. Her church family held a special place in her heart.

Her home was a haven of warmth a place where love overflowed and memories were made. Every Sunday, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family gathered at the “Big House” for family dinner, filling the rooms with laughter, card games, and the kind of joy that only comes from being together. Those Sundays were more than meals they were moments of connection, celebration, and unconditional love.

Outside of work and worship, Feenie found joy in life’s simple pleasures fishing, gardening, and hosting family gatherings. She also loved to bake and was known for her famous chocolate cake. You could often find her sitting under the carporch, listening to B.B. King, savoring the peace of the day. Her “open-door” policy wasn’t just a saying it was a way of life.

Feenie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Freeman Strozier Jr., her brother Woodrow Wilson, and sisters Leonard Manuel and Ruby Lee Jones. She leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by her children Marvin Strozier, William Curtis Strozier, Marsha Strozier, Mechelle Strozier Johnson, and Hazel Strozier Menefee along with fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Feenie’s life was a gift to all who knew her. Her love was unconditional, her laughter unforgettable, and her presence a blessing. Though she has departed this earthly home, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.

In Loving Memory of Feenie

For ninety-one years, a life well lived, With love unending, so freely given. A devoted mother, a guiding light, Whose days were filled with what was right.

Five children rose beneath her care, Taught through her patience, love, and prayer. Fourteen grandchildren learned her ways, Her gentle wisdom, her steady gaze. Four great-grandchildren, blessings new, Carried her love as they grew.

Her home was warmth, her heart was kind, Her strength a gift to all mankind. She asked for little, gave her best, And now in peace, her soul finds rest.

Though absent now from mortal sight, Her love remains, her memory bright. In every heart, her life is shown

A lasting legacy, lovingly sown.
