Dequaviyon Whatley, affectionately known as “DJ,” was born on April 15, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the second oldest of four siblings.
DJ attended Benjamin E. Mays High School, where he completed his high school education. Following graduation, he was preparing to pursue a trade school education and begin the next chapter of his life. DJ was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Tonia Harp-Thomas. DJ will be lovingly remembered for the joy, love, and laughter he brought to everyone he encountered. He had a vibrant spirit and a personality that left a lasting impression on those around him. DJ enjoyed playing football, spending time outdoors, going on adventures, and listening to music. As he grew into a young man, he became known for his charming personality and was affectionately regarded as a ladies’ man. DJ departed this life and entered eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and loved ones. Though his time on earth was far too short, the love he shared and the lives he touched will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his mother, Xzquee Whatley; father, Carl Harris; brothers, Jaderious Whatley and Chryshawn Harris; sisters, DaNayjah, Skylar Harris, and Jordan King; grandmothers, Deborah WhatleyTrice and Cathy Steele; grandfather, Willie Trice; aunts, Delbrina Robinson, Andrarisieya Williams, and Kadijah Williams; uncles, Emmanuel Williams, Michaiyaiuh Brown, Kye Harris, and Brian Robinson; first cousins, Jorden Robinson, Jrew Robinson, Emoriya Williams, Kamora Williams, Aniyah, and Amiri; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones. May DJ’s memory forever be a blessing, and may the love and laughter he shared continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
