The Juniors Kingsford Opening Hours

7 DAYS A WEEK 9am - 6am

Welcome to our latest edition of Encore magazine.

President's Report

It’s a great time of year to visit The Juniors Clubs as we deliver a wide range of outstanding local and international ticketed shows, alongside our usual free entertainment, multiple dining options and great promotions. With the footy back as well, there really is something for everyone across our three venues. We look forward to welcoming you to spend some time with us here at The Juniors.

Senior Australian of the Year

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Dr Henry Brodaty AO, who was named Senior Australian of the Year at this year’s Australia Day Honours.

The Juniors has proudly hosted major events with Dr Brodaty for many years as part of our support for his vital work in the field of brain health. Dr Brodaty is a worldrenowned Australian psychiatrist, researcher and advocate, recognised for his pioneering work in dementia diagnosis, treatment and prevention. His achievements include cofounding the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) and leading significant trials such as Maintain Your Brain.

Dr Brodaty is a Scientia Professor at UNSW, a senior psychogeriatrician at Prince of Wales Hospital, and a leading figure in improving the lives of people living with dementia and their families through research into risk reduction and care models. All of us here at The Juniors congratulate him on this outstanding recognition and are proud to be associated with his important work.

The 2026 NRL season is almost upon us and there is plenty to look forward to for Rabbitohs fans. We welcome back our inspirational captain Cameron Murray, who was sorely missed last year due to injury, along with several other key players. It’s great to see the squad fully fit and ready to go.

Add to that the key additions of David Fifita, Adam Elliott and Bronson Garlick, and we are shaping up with a strong roster and plenty of depth. Our first match of the season is against the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, 8

March, which will be a great early test for the boys. I can’t wait to cheer them on this year and hopefully see us climb the ladder into the top eight.

Junior League Report

Season 2026 is upon us for the NRL, and it’s no different for our Junior League and junior representative teams.

The Junior Representative season commenced on 7 February and runs for nine rounds before finals begin. I wish the very best of luck to all players and staff involved with the Rabbitohs Lisa Fiaola, Tarsha Gale, Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup teams.

The Souths Juniors competition will kick off on the weekend of 11–12 April, following the Easter holiday break. With more than 3,200 players, both male and female, and approximately 800 volunteers, we are looking forward to another fantastic season of junior football.

Faulty Towers

One of our entertainment highlights sees the hilarious Faulty Towers Interactive Dinner Show return to The Juniors Maroubra for another encore performance on Saturday, 11 April.

This night has proven extremely popular in previous years and will definitely sell out. Guests can expect a fantastic evening of laughter as Basil, Sybil and Manuel serve up a three-course meal alongside plenty of classic chaos. I strongly recommend booking early to secure your seat at the table.

Anzac Day Dawn Service

The traditional Anzac Day Dawn Service will once again be held at the Cenotaph on Anzac Parade, directly across from The Juniors Maroubra. The service will commence at 4:30am on Saturday, 25 April.

This is one of the most important days on The Juniors calendar, as we join with the Maroubra RSL Sub-Branch to honour the men and women who gave their lives for our country. The Anzac spirit is well and truly alive, and all are welcome to join us in paying their respects.

Best Regards

CEO’s Report

Geoff Knight

Another year is well and truly underway, and I am pleased to report to members that 2026 will be another year jam-packed with entertainment, special events, and great food and drink options across our three venues.

We pride ourselves on being a social hub for the local community, and we love seeing the large numbers of members and their guests who visit the Club regularly. As you read through the pages of this magazine, I’m sure you’ll find something that interests you. We look forward to welcoming you through our doors again soon.

Changes to Trading Hours

In recent times the Minister announced a review of all existing variations to the shutdown period for gaming machines in NSW. From 31st March they are bringing in a compulsory shutdown period from 4am – 10am each day. While we have applied for an exemption, we have not yet received a response.

At this stage, it is likely that Kingsford Club will be amending our trading hours to close at 4:00am and reopen at 10:00am. Further information will be provided as soon as possible.

49%

Off Drinks

Our very popular 49% Off Drinks Happy Hour returns in March. This is one of our biggest promotions of the year and will coincide with the start of both the NRL and AFL seasons.

With 49% off all drinks (excluding cocktails) between 5:00pm and 7:00pm, it’s a fantastic way to kick off an evening at any of our venues. It truly is one of the best deals in town, so make the most of it.

With the cost of living continuing to be a major talking point, you can’t beat the opportunity for discounted drinks at The Juniors.

Members Birthday Promotion

Our Member Birthday Promotion has now been running for a few months, with all members receiving birthday points that can be used on purchases during their birthday month.

In addition, our monthly birthday draw is held on the last Thursday of each month, giving members the chance to win a further $1,250 in points. All you need to do is be here on the night and swipe your membership card.

Full details can be found on page 4 of this magazine.

Hard Rated 50-Foot Putt Challenge

Friday nights in Henry’s have seen our Hard Rated 50-Foot Putt Challenge gaining some serious momentum.

At the time of writing, no one has managed to sink the putt yet — and the cash jackpot has now climbed to over $1,000!

It’s just $5 to enter, with all proceeds going directly into the jackpot. We’re hoping someone will take home the prize soon.

Registration opens from 4:00pm, with putting commencing at 5:45pm during the footy season.

Entertainment Highlights

The Wintle Theatre is once again hosting a galaxy of stars over the next three months.

March features the return of the hugely popular Vince Sorrenti, bringing his unique blend of comedy back to the stage. In May, we welcome Aussie music icon Ross Wilson, performing songs from Daddy Cool, Mondo Rock and his solo career.

We also look forward to the very talented Joey Fimmano and his spectacular Music of the Night extravaganza.

All show dates and details can be found in the following pages.

DRIVING CARE WHERE IT’S NEEDED MOST

Supporting the Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation

At The Juniors, community is at the heart of everything we do. As a proud, member-owned club, we believe our success is measured not just by what happens within our walls, but by the positive impact we make beyond them. One organisation that strongly reflects these values is the Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation, which The Juniors has proudly supported for many years through the ClubGRANTS program.

transport vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, accessible, and available for regular service. The funding may also be used to expand service capacity, allowing the Foundation to reach more individuals in need across the community.

The Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation provides free, non-emergency transport for people in need to access essential medical and healthcare services. For many in our community, particularly the elderly and those who are physically or financially disadvantaged, reliable transport can be a major barrier to receiving timely care.

The Juniors is proud to support the Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation because their work delivers tangible outcomes for people who need support the most. Through our ongoing ClubGRANTS contributions, we are helping remove barriers to healthcare access and ensuring no one is left behind due to lack of transport.

We thank the Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation for the vital work they do every day and are proud to continue supporting their mission—driving care, connection, and compassion where it’s needed most.

The Foundation plays a critical role in supporting community members who may live alone and have no other means of getting to medical or hospital appointments. Through a dedicated fleet of vehicles and a network of compassionate volunteers, the Foundation ensures individuals can attend appointments safely, comfortably, and with dignity. In many cases, this service is the only way people are able to maintain their independence and manage their ongoing health needs.

If you would like more information about this service, please phone (02) 8765 8661 or visit our website at www.sirroden.org.au

In addition to providing practical support, the Foundation’s volunteers offer reassurance and connection, helping to reduce isolation for those who may be experiencing illness or vulnerability. This human connection is an invaluable part of the service and has a lasting impact on the wellbeing of those they assist.

This year, The Juniors’ ClubGRANTS funding is being used to maintain, operate, and fuel the Foundation’s

CEO of Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation Virginia Flint with Randwick City Council Mayor Dylan Parker and The Juniors Director Kieran Hickey.
