SHOULD DEPED REMOVE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL?

When K-12 was first established, the government promised that students would be employable once they graduated Senior High School But the government has fallen short of that promise, as most jobs still require applicants to have attained at least college education And now, the purpose of the extra two years of education is questioned

Established in 2016, Senior High School's goal was to produce "holistically developed, equipped with 21st-century skills and prepared for the future, regardless of their chosen paths, whether it be higher education, attainment of middle-level skills, employment or entrepreneurship "

Personally, as a student who went through my Junior High School education under the impression that I was going to have two more years of schooling that focused primarily on the field I'd be going into, and then suddenly being told that once I finish this school year I'd be a college student, I'd be scared, especially as a student who got hit by the pandemic train and had to take two years of my Junior High School education online

This also only considers some students who have yet to figure out what field they want to go into and are hoping to use Senior High School as a time to figure it out It's immense pressure to think you still have two years to think about what you want to be and do, then suddenly have to decide on your college course immediately

And taking away K-12 would be a step backward When K12 was established, we were only catching up with all the countries that already had it for years K-12 also made it so that Filipino Students who wished to work or finish their education internationally no longer had to retake years due to the curriculum difference Some

Race and Gender have been social constructs since time immemorial. They are mirrors for prevailing societal prejudices; each is used to cause and defend one group’s supremacy over another. Let me express my thoughts on this sensitive and vast topic and how we might practice equity more.

Equity is about ensuring we give everyone things according to what they need. It is very much related to ‘Equality’; many people have considered those two as the a

Senior High School graduates can even apply to prestigious colleges abroad

But though I have objections to removing Senior High School, it doesn't mean it's free from fault The idea of K-12 was great; it was promising The execution of it was the problem. K-12 has its valid criticisms, especially with how it has worsened shortages in the educational system, given the government's consistent tack to to scrimp on the education budget And the disappointment of the people with the failure to fulfill the promise of employable K-12 graduates, especially those from less fortunate backgrounds who

as the same thing, but actually, they are two z different concepts but equally important In Equality, everyone is treated the same regardless of their a circumstances; it’s like one size fits all. But in reality, it does not always work. Regarding Equity, it is about treating everyone the same benefits. Equality gives everyone a shoe, but Equity gives everyone a shoe that fits. We, especially our generation, should practice Equity more because it recognizes that we do not all start from the same place and are not under the same circumstances. Equity will lead to Equality, and a lack of Equity results in many global issues.

Starting with Gender Equity. Since the might've hoped to save money by no longer needing to attend or send their children to college and being able to work earlier in life, is truly understandable. So, instead of abolishing K-12 altogether, a better approach would be to improve it and hopefully finally fulfill its promise to produce employable graduates And if the government revokes it, I hope there will also be changes in the Junior High School education that will better prepare them beginning, women and men have been expected by society to play specific roles and behave in a certain way that is mainly based on beliefs and traditions. Gender Equity is about women and men having the same things according to their individual needs. This may include having equal rights with the same benefits, being treated fairly and justly, and playing an equally important role in society. Gender Equity and Gender Equality are different because Gender Equity recognizes and addresses gender inequalities.

There are several ways to practice Gender Equity; we can begin at home because this is where most of us spend our time and where gender discrimination may first appear Women are taught to be responsible for cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, and other household household chores, while men are not responsible for many household chores outside of yard work Women have suffered from this mentality for centuries. To educate their children on educate their children on domestic responsibility and to prepare them to take care of their future houses as adults, parents can practice gender equity in the home by equitably distributing duties to all of their children, regardless of gender Gender equity fosters creativity and innovation while opening the door to limitless possibilities

Racial Equity It is a term used to indicate a group of people with similar features on the outside, such

groups, and individuals may identify or belong to more than one.

People of different races, particularly people of color, have been mistreated for many years. Racial equity would occur if society disregarded their ethnic status to have access to what they require to thrive. People are judged and mistreated simply because they are physically different Racial equity is about justice, fairness, and doing the right thing by addressing the long-term consequences of centuries of discrimination. Begin calling out prejudices and working to change the system holding them back. Let us begin to listen, learn, and work together as one.
