Israel Defence Forces is continuing its extensive military campaign with Hamas in Gaza while diplomatic talks continue over a three-stage hostage deal. A Hamas delegation was due to discuss the latest deal in Cairo yesterday following brokered terms by Israeli, American, Qatari and Egyptian officials in Paris. Key points are the release of over 130 remaining hostages in exchange for a truce and release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. However, media reports in Israel are not overly confident of a breakthrough in negotiations. IDF casualties have reached 560 with 223 soldiers falling since the start of ground operations.
