How do they do it? What is that special gift those geniuses are endowed with? Why can’t I do it?

ask when they see great people, especially artists. Now instead of just admiring or feeling jealous of such creative people have you ever asked what does it take for you to become like them? Have you ever challenged yourself to become like them, or asked if someone can do it then why can’t you do it? Is there some method to become creative and exhibit your untapped talent? The answer to all your questions is a big YES, and to find out how you can also become creative just keep reading.

First, let us talk about our brains. Did you know that your brain is actually made up of two distinct parts and each behaves in a different way? Scientists call these the Right Brain and the Left Brain. The left brain is the one you commonly use for logical and process based 11

activities. The right brain is for creative and artistic stuff and amazing mental things that you can’t explain logically. In other words, activities such as music, art, and fantastic imagination are the right brain activities, while standard processes and repetitive tasks are the logical left brain activities. But most people are eternally busy tackling their day-to-day life using their logical left brain that they hardly tap into the right side of their brain. Also most people have the habit of expecting everything to be logical.

But this will gradually make their right brain inactive and soon they lose connection to their creativity. This means the right brain will become unused or inactive.

However, just like using all the features of a car or a stereo set to keep it in good working 12

condition, you should also keep your right brain active and functional. If your right brain is active then you will feel creative, more alive, and confident. When you are more creative, you shine better and can tackle problems and issues in a far superior way. Now how do you make your right brain active and functional? Here are a few simple ways to activate your right brain and become more creative, Learn Music - Learn to sing or play some instrument. Or, listen to different kinds of music from around the world. Today, it’s possible to listen to such music via the internet or world band radios without spending any money. This helps to stimulate the auditory cortex of the right brain and leads to increased creativity.

Take an Art Class - Even if you feel you don't have any artistic abilities, activities like painting, drawing, and sketching can stimulate your right brain to become more active. Don’t worry if you're not good at it. Just let your right brain mess around with colors, shapes, and textures.

Use your Left Hand - If you are right handed, then try doing activities like writing or operating the computer using your left hand. This is called using the non-dominant side of your body.

Stimulating your right brain by using your wrong hand can help in activating your creative and intuitive side.

Daydream - Set your imagination on fire.

Think of crazy and illogical things without constrained by any rules or laws applicable in the real world. For example, imagine what your forefathers were ten thousand years ago, or fighting sabretooth tigers, or split the world, start a world war, or shrink and enter an ant hill, and so on.

Loud laughing - Humor is a right brain function but not everyone can be humorous.

Becoming humorous takes time, patience, and the ability to think in wacky ways. To cultivate humor you need to read joke books, MAD Magazines, and other funny stuff to get the hang of humor, which will in turn activate your creativity.

Breathe from Left Nostril - Most people breathe out of only one nostril at a time and the body switches the dominant nostril every few hours. This switching pattern was first noticed by a German nose specialist in 1895. Since then, many studies have shown that different things occur in the body and brain depending on which nostril is being used. One study showed that when you breathe through your left nostril, the right side of your brain becomes more active and dominant. When you reverse the process and 17

breathe through your right nostril the left brain becomes more active. Will this make you more creative? Give it a try.

Write down your dreams - Everyone gets amazing dreams frequently but most of us don’t remember anything or have only a faint remembrance of what we dreamt after waking up. Take a challenge to remember and write down what you dreamt as vividly as possible even though it serves no purpose.

Finally, we can end this article with a quote from Twyla Tharp who said - Creativity is not just for artists. It's for businesspeople looking for a new way to close a sale; it's for engineers trying to solve a problem; it's for parents who want their children to see the world in more than one way.

Never reveal sensitive information on phone calls that claim to be from your bank. If you receive a call from your credit card company or bank about a potential fraud on your account just hang up and call back at the official telephone number printed on the back of the relevant card or website. Never provide information to someone who called you because that person may not be who he or she claims to be.

f you read any popular business magazines like Harvard Business Review, or other

management books and articles, you will definitely encounter some examples about various super performers (or hyper-efficient employees) that exist in various organizations 20

and how they did something great. Of course, the definition of a super performer is a subjective term that can vary from manager to manager or from company to company and can be quite varied based on their personal experiences. And that picture can range from someone who is super-fast at everything, a noisy person, a flamboyant person, or someone who has all the answers, a management’s blue-eyed boy, a jargon emitting person, a go-to person, or even someone who always comes to office very early and leaves very late, and so on.

Or if you go by the job advertisements of organizations today, a super performer are someone who meets (or claims to meet) the fancy criteria like below (based on real sentences picked from some newspaper advertisements).

The Kind of Job Ads Today We are looking for high-value employees dedicated to delivering innovation to assist our clients in high-performance delivery. The employee must be a class of his own and raise his or her sights above the horizon. We are looking for superefficient leaders who have the challenge to outdo themselves and be a winner all the way.

We are looking for a person to lead, motivate and create a high-performance team capable of continuous innovation and excellence in working for a global leader.

Every manager will unquestionably agree that having a gang of such super performers in their teams would be a great thing. However, you may be surprised to know that such super performers can, either quickly or gradually, become your worst nightmare. Over time, and often unknown to you, they can do more harm than good and can slowly curdle or ruin an entire team consisting of normal to good performers. What I am saying may sound ridiculous or stupid, but wait till you hear me out. Some of the top hidden reasons why a super performer can turn a team into a snake pit rather than work as a collaborating team are as below.

Remember your School Days While being super-efficient is not a crime, a hyper performer can often make other team 23

members (who works quietly without fanfare) look bad and inefficient, either intentionally or unintentionally. To understand this, just go back to your school and college days. Remember in school where a couple of smart kids would quickly shout answers even before the other kids could even understand the teacher’s question.

They were the class “Know it all”. And slowly those speed kids would become the teacher’s pets, and the rest of the students would constantly be compared with them leading to an icy jealousy.

Now Come to Office Similarly, a super performer in a team can corrode the manager’s opinion of others as they will invariably be compared against the team’s hero. But people hate being compared with others as it will make them look inferior and dull.

This, in turn, kills teamwork, collaboration and can lead to various internal politics.

Top Performers Create Fear Many may argue that having a super performer in a team can be a great source of inspiration for other team members. But the reality is far from this assumption. Constant success is actually a guaranteed way to gain unpopularity. Just like the omnipresent sibling rivalry among kids, a super performer in a team of co-workers will soon be viewed as someone who is hogging all 26

the limelight and the manager’s attention or affection, while they are automatically viewed as morons being unable to do work as efficiently as the super performer. Apart from the usual feelings of envy, it can also lead to fear among coworkers. So, team members will start viewing the super performer as a danger to their survival rather than an inspirational soul.

Manager Becomes Partial Managers will intentionally (or unintentionally) start diverting all the juicy jobs to the super performers and the routine/mundane work to others thereby depriving them to get ahead or get involved. Other team members will start feeling they are getting unequal amounts of a manager’s attention and responses.

Poking their Nose Appreciation can be intoxicating and addictive.

Once a peak performer gets continuous attention and appreciation the natural tendency is to seek activities and tasks that can earn them more and more limelight or rewards. So, they will start invading into other team member’s territories like finding fault in the way others work, or showing off how they could handle the same job better, start giving smarter suggestions, etc., thereby making the other team member look stupid.

And in many cases, super performers in their desire to remain at the top will start grabbing ideas and pieces of work (or even entire work) from others thereby depriving others of their

rightful share of the workload, or maybe even make them lose their job.

Top Performers Seek Glory Like a child that gets bored of every toy within hours or days and expects its parents to buy a new toy, super performers by nature are restless individuals constantly seeking new activities that will excite them. But a manager or an organization cannot find or invent exciting work perpetually to keep their super performers happy. And because of the halo surrounding them and the holy throne they sit, they will be unwilling to do ordinary, mundane and routine work that is essential in any department.

Hence, super performers will refuse, avoid or quietly offload such activities to their coworkers 29

as they start believing such menial activities are to be done only by the lesser mortals of their team. This can lead to various workload conflicts.

So, as you can see from the above points you have as much to fear about super performers as you

have

to

fear

about

inefficient

and

troublesome workers. And such things could be happening right under your nose just waiting to explode at the most inconvenient time. However, if you can recognize the smoke signals early to apply the necessary brakes periodically then you can ensure that everyone in the team can contribute to their strengths and weaknesses without stepping on each other’s toes.

Finally, at the end of the day, one should understand that super performers can shine and bloom only because bad, normal and good 30

performers exist around them. And we can conclude this chapter with a quote that says, “Either super competence or super incompetence may be offensive to an establishment.”

How to Remember a Lot of Passwords Technology

O

ne of the biggest headaches for people today is to remember numerous passwords

of the various internet services and websites they use. In the past, there were only a couple of internet sites like Yahoo or Gmail to visit occasionally and you could easily remember a 32

few passwords. Or you kept the same password for every site for easy remembering. And that was not a problem some years ago because financial sites like banks and credit cards weren’t internet or Smartphone enabled like today. But that’s a dangerous method now with all the hacking and spoofing every day.

Today, it’s not a good idea to keep the same password for your bank, insurance, email, credit cards, social networking, internet devices, WiFi, Smartphone, payment apps, etc. And If you accidentally get hacked in one site then it’s easily possible for a hacker to get into every website you use and cause mischief. But when it’s dangerous to keep the same password for each site it’s a terrible headache to remember some 15–20 passwords. Also jotting all the passwords 33

in your diary is another bad idea. And if you forget the password for a site then it’s another cumbersome method to get it reset. Also all service providers now force you to use a combination

of

letters

and

numbers

as

passwords. So what do you do when practically every service is now internet enabled?

To solve the above, I have devised a simple method to help you remember a lot of passwords. While this still doesn’t prevent brute hacking by experts or your government snooping on your internet activity, it’s still possible for you to remember a lot of complex passwords using my method. I will now show you how to create a sample complex (but easy to remember) password for Yahoo. But don’t use my example

password for any of your internet sites. Create your own unique password.

First pick a complex, non-dictionary word of 7 or 8 characters that you can easily remember. For example, let us use Wekamore.

Next add the short forms of various internet sites to the end of the above complex word. For example, Wekamoreyh, where yh stands for Yahoo. So you now have a combination of a complex word plus the short form of the particular site in your password. But wait, your password is still not complete.

Next add a four or five digit number at the end of the above word. For example let us choose 1952. So your complex Yahoo password will now be Wekamoreyh1952. Now this completes your 35

password. Similarly you can add gm for Gmail, fb for Facebook, tw for Twitter, etc., to Wekamore and create complex passwords for each (like Wekamoregm1952, Wekamoretw1952, etc) that you can easily remember.

Now all you have to remember is Wekamore, 1952 and the short forms of various internet sites you use. And presto, you now have an easy formula to remember your password for that site, and for all other internet sites that you use.

As an added security measure, you can also split your financial and non- financial sites and use two complex words (say Wekamore and Pikinare) and two 4 digit numbers (say 1952 and 1438).

As an additional security measure, it’s also a good idea to register your cellphone number to all the sites in their security settings. So in case your password gets locked out your service provider can send you an SMS to your registered phone to get the password unlocked.

I hope the above method greatly reduces your password headache now. Now go ahead and 38

change all the passwords of the sites you use by first creating your unique non-dictionary word and a four digit number. And depending on your situation and willingness you can also document your passwords and keep them in safe custody in your home in case anything bad happens to you.

Finally, we shall end this article with a quote by Clifford Stoll who said, “Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don’t let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.”

business for various reasons like travel hassles, office politics, etc. But they never take any steps to start their own business and continue to slog in their current employment for decades. This 41

hesitation is because they start imagining all the difficulties associated with a business like they should have an office, hire employees, pay salaries, learn business and tax laws, etc. But did you know that you can start a small business without having any such big investments or headaches? Now how do you do that? The answer is to start a small freelance business that utilizes the knowledge and experience you have.

This article will tell you how.

Take the Decision Starting your own business can be a scary thing. But don’t let your fears hold you back.

Start small and don’t quit your current job. Take small baby steps without jeopardizing your regular job. Secondly, it’s not necessary to go around the world telling everyone that you are 42

now an independent businessman or woman. As a Chinese proverb says, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Who knows where it may lead you? So, go ahead and make that tiny jump quietly without any fanfare.

Starting a business is also a personal adventure that gives you long term benefits and valuable connections.

Monetize your Knowledge If you have the skills, experience, passion, and energy for anything, then think of starting a small business even if it just earns only a few dollars a month. For example, if you are a writer then think of writing and publishing small useful books. Today, it’s very easy to self-publish on Amazon and other top online sites and get a 43

generous royalty for each sale. If you are a software programmer write useful tools that can be sold on the internet. If you know stuff like Yoga, Meditation, Gardening, etc., start a weekend coaching class for others in your neighborhood. Take it easy and don’t hurry.

Everyone has the same amount of time. The only difference is how you will spend your spare time.

Similarly, think of monetizing every skill you have. It can even be an offline business. For example, a retired teacher near my house, who was earning a pittance while in employment for decades, is now earning five times her salary by taking tuitions for high school kids by working only three hours a day. Also, it’s not necessary to spend enormous amounts of time for your new business. You can spend an hour a day or on the 44

weekends to slowly erect the building blocks for your business. Study books and articles on how others have started similar businesses to gain tips and avoid pitfalls.

Don’t invest huge sums of money or take loans unless you are sure that the idea will succeed or you have someone trustworthy and experienced who can guide you to be successful. So, always invest money that you can afford to lose in case your business bombs.

Think long term about why you are starting a business. If you are an employee anywhere you can be sure that someday your job will be restructured,

or

outsourced

regardless of how indispensable you may think you

are.

You control your own destiny and make decisions. In other words, owning a business saves you from having to work for anyone else, maybe someday in the future. Be patient. Don’t assume that your business will take off within months. Even if it earns a few dollars a month let it continue.

You don’t have to do everything yourself. Get your family members to help. Show them the monetary benefits. Delegate whatever you can to them. Also, request your family members, 46

relatives, and friends to spread the word about your business constantly.

Market your Services List your services on freelance sites like Fiverr if your skills match the kind of jobs that can be done online. Also have a simple website that concisely outlines your products and services, and multiple ways to contact you like phones, emails, business cards, and social media options.

Avoid using those awful web forms to contact you as they don’t work properly. Some people make it difficult to contact them by giving only social media ids like Twitter or Facebook and provide no email id or phone. Customers cannot have meaningful communication if you use such methods.

If you are selling any product or services customers will want to know your prices immediately. Make it easy for them to know prices instantly like an Amazon product page.

Don’t play irritating marketing games like many companies websites normally do where it’s impossible for you to get the required details like specifications, cost, etc., quickly without first wading through several kilometers of jargon describing how great the company is, their fantastic ever smiling people, their immense passion for serving you, and so on.

Avoid

fonts,

and

unwanted cosmetics. People want information fast and are no longer interested in seeing cartoons and advertisements popup on their webpages. If they can’t get the information, 48

price, and contact details within a couple of minutes they will simply move to other websites regardless of the great information you may have dumped on your site.

necessary even when they are not busy is one of the most annoying habits that many people have. One can understand if the recipient is in a different time zone of several hours but not replying within the office is a bad habit that wastes time, ruins teamwork, professionalism, company brand, etc.

meetings for trivial issues, or keep yakking on the phone, or pretend to be busy with something else. By evening he would not know how to respond to the truckload of emails and would send mediocre and improper replies. What will you think of such an inefficient person and what meaningful work can be done by having him lead a team or be a team member?

Today it’s not necessary to be in front of a desktop computer to reply to emails. One can easily give a professional and short reply from their smartphones, tablets, or laptops. So, why do people still have bad email etiquette? It’s plain inefficiency, that’s it. So how do you deal with such persons? While it’s not easy if the person you are dealing with is a senior person, but if the person you are dealing with is 53

reporting to you or a junior person you can take them to task and teach them some email etiquette. Here are some ways you can try.

Make it clear to your team that you expect a reply within two hours of your email while in office. The reply need not be an instant solution but the team member must reply with their acknowledgement, suggestions, or answer to your queries. Getting a prompt reply saves time and you can move to other activities instead of wasting time waiting for a reply. This rule applies to you also.

To get correct answers from the recipient you should also frame your questions in such a way that it does not confuse them. Don’t expect them to read your mind and give replies. For example, if you want some data in a particular way then 54

create a small blank table and ask your team to fill the details. This will be easy for both If you are giving instructions then give it in a step by step manner for them to follow. Put yourself in the recipient’s shoes and read your own email from their perspective. Ask if your instructions are perfectly clear for others to follow. If not, rework your steps. Use color highlights, bold, underline, italics, uppercase, etc., to make your points absolutely clear.

Don’t write long rambling emails. Learn to use the shortest possible sentences to give the perfect possible instructions. Take time and cut out all unwanted information or words that can confuse the others. As Mark Twain said while writing a letter to someone - I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.

Don’t write emails when you are angry or depressed. You will not be in the right state of mind and may write something nasty that you will regret later or put yourself in trouble. Also don’t use any cusswords, politically incorrect sentences, bad jokes, inappropriate images, etc., even for fun or to make a point. You will never know when it will come back to haunt you.

Don’t send too many emails. For example, don’t send three emails when one will do. This can be a headache for both parties. Also, when replying to an email ensure that your replies don’t create more questions or doubts for the recipients.

Few Other Tips Keep subject lines descriptive and short.

Ensure it’s appropriate for what you need. Don’t use blank subject line, or words like Hi, Hello, Greetings, etc. Such subject lines don’t tell the recipient anything about the contents, so why would they open it?

Double check the recipient’s email address. If you are sending a new mail ensure you don’t send to the wrong person with a similar name.

Don’t use weird fonts, background colors, and other fancy stuff. It can be irritating to read, especially on a phone.

If you are going to be away put an out of office notice so that people know you can’t reply immediately. Mention how long you will be away or who can be contacted when you are away.

If you are sending attachments ensure you name them properly. Don’t send files like doc1.doc, doc2.doc, etc. Also don’t send too many attachments in one email. Split them into multiple emails with proper subject lines like 1 of 3, 2 of 3, and so on.

Alok’s day, was on full swing; He tosses his sight on MG road as he sips his 11am-ish Indian chai from the rooftop cafe of his office. Cars like tiny toys twisting and turning in all directions and people moving around like ants. Everyone with

perspective. It's a sight worth watching.

All four sides of this rooftop café were open with an overhead hard fabric sheet as protection from the weather. One side was open to this busy street, to the left and right the view was restricted to the extent of the hard-concrete walls of the neighbouring buildings. The fastgrowing concrete jungle. The other side, the side opposite to the busy street, towards the back of the building was a wide-open green land.

Trees and greenery widespread. Not for long though! The concrete jungle is like the amoeba. It keeps growing as it moves. It's like the halffinished work of an artist, that green patch will soon be painted pale. For now, it is green!

The heavy traffic, honks and pollution on the other bank does not bother them at all.

It was his pretty colleague Tessa. He greeted her with a fake smile.

“I know everyone on the floor would like your company, but not me”, he said to himself. He even thought of telling her that but swallowed it.

“Did I interrupt you?”, Tessa asked as she tilted her head away to the other side cautiously trying to manage her silky hair from troubling Alok. It is windier this side.

To her question, Alok nods in disagreement trying his best to continue the flashing smile. He is going well so far!

She moved closer to the raised parapet wall of the open terrace. She placed her elbows on it standing right next to Alok. “I am so passionate about learning the automation stuff that you are doing”, she says as she tucks back a bunch of hair flying away from her ear locks.

“It is just another project Tessa”, he said looking back at the bunch of eagles soaring high.

Alok wished he could fly and be free from all these. Not to be mistaken by that desire as he has an impressive profile at work, just a few years into his career, and has that spark that everyone would like to see. He has never been investing time on friends. He is worried. Worried but equally confident that he has a bright career 66

ahead of him. He aspires to climb the ladder as fast as he can, accumulate fame and money and many others. He is yet to figure that out the ‘how’. But he is going to find it out one day. This thought stresses him out!

Tips for Writing Correct Dialogue Writing & Publishing

ost newspapers, academic papers and textbooks

don't

use

dialogue

(conversation) in them. This is why most of us don't learn proper punctuation and grammar for writing conversations. As an author trying to write a novel it's very important to write 74

dialogues correctly. If your dialogue structure or punctuation isn't right then regardless of how great your book is you will be considered as an amateur. Punctuation is a mechanism for the reader to separate spoken words from other parts of the sentence.

What if your English teacher reads your amateurish book someday? Wouldn't she be shocked? This is why I have collected a bunch of basic tips on how to punctuate dialogues.

Though I am no grammar expert the below tips will immensely help you in framing dialogues.

Pay attention to my yellow highlights.

What is a DIALOGUE and a TAG LINE? Example: "I would like to go to the library tomorrow," she told him as they left the building.

Dialogue is the words spoken by the speaker - I would like to go to the library tomorrow.

Tag Line are words that identify the speaker like he told/she told - she told him as they left the building Type of sentence: A single line of dialogue that has ONE tag line.

Example: “I would like to go to the library tomorrow,” she told him as they left the building.

Punctuation Method: Put a comma after the dialogue ends and before the closing quotation mark. End the sentence with a period. Also, the tag line (she told him as they left the building) doesn’t begin with a capital letter since it is part of the same sentence. This is why the letter s in she is not in capitals.

Type of sentence: A single line of dialogue that has NO tag line.

Example: “He hated you like hell."

Punctuation Method: The entire sentence, including the period, is within the quotation marks.

Type of sentence: Two dialogues interrupted or joined by a tag line.

Example-1: "I have made up my mind," she said nodding, "I don’t want to go there."

Punctuation method: A dialogue can be interrupted by a tag and again resume in the same sentence. In such cases, put a comma inside the first set of quotation marks and put another comma after the tag line. This is done because the entire sentence is spoken by one speaker.

Separating the above into two sentences also works. The first sentence will end with a period and the second will begin with a capital letter like example below.

Example-2: "I have made my decision," she said, nodding. "I don’t want to go there."

Type of sentence: Identifying two speakers talking.

“How are you?” said John.

“I am fine,” replied Nancy.

Punctuation method: Always start a new paragraph for a new speaker.

Type of sentence: Multi paragraph quotation or a long dialogue that spans two paragraphs.

Punctuation method: Begin first paragraph with open quote marks but do not close this paragraph with ending quotation marks. The second paragraph should have both open and ending quotation marks.

The reason for this method is to indicate the original speaker is still talking. The lack of ending quotation marks is a convenient clue for the reader that the quotation goes on beyond the end of the paragraph. If you closed the quotes at the end of every paragraph, then you would need

to re-identify the speaker with every subsequent paragraph.

Example: “The usual way of punctuating dialogue is to start the speech with quotation marks and to close the marks when the character finally stops speaking his long sentences that span multiple paragraphs.

“Note there is no ending quotation marks at the end of the previous paragraph, but it is put at the start of this new one. It’s only when you reach the end of this final paragraph that you close the quotation marks.”

First Person: means I, We, Me, Us, My, Mine, Our, Ours.

Second Person: means You, Your, Yours.

Third Person: means He, Him, His, She, Her, Hers, They, Them, Their, Theirs, It, Its. Depending on the type of book choose the first, second, or third person method for your writing.

First person: The category ‘first person’ refers to the writer himself. When you write your sentences using words like I, we, me, us, my, mine, our, ours, then you are using the first person method. Some examples of sentences using first person are, "I am going home to eat my dinner. Our maid is going to cook my favorite dish."

"We were walking down the street when we noticed a tiger coming towards our house and both of us screamed."

The first person method is mainly used for autobiographies, personal essays, memoirs, etc.

Second person: Writing in the second person uses words like you, your, and yours. Here the author will be directly addressing the reader.

Some examples of sentences using second person are, "You should never write when your brain is tired."

"You should improve your style of writing."

Non-fiction and advice types of books should be written in the second person to make the book resonate with the reader. Sentences written in 82

second person will appear as if your book is advising or speaking to the reader. For example, reading a sentence like, "You should take two large glasses of water when you are stressed," sounds much better to the reader than "I take two large glasses of water when I am stressed."

Third person: The third person refers to others.

Writing in the third person uses words like he, she, they, them, it, him, her, etc. Some examples of sentences using third person are, "He hit her with a brick and she started screaming.

When the neighbors noticed this they started chasing him."

"As soon as they started running the police started chasing them."

Novels are usually written using third person method. However, a book may use all the three types depending on the story or what you are trying to explain.

Avoid beginning every sentence with letter I Starting every sentence with the letter I looks childish. Rearrange the sentences so that it looks better like the examples below.

Bad way: I ran down the stairs with my heart pounding. I could hear the monster running after me. I reached for the door. I could not open it. I got frightened.

Good way: My heart pounded as I ran down the stairs with the monster galloping behind me. A few feet ahead was the escape door, but to my horror it was locked.

Bad way: I looked at the clock. I thought it was 4 but it was already 5.

Good way: My eyes glanced at the clock and it was already 5 and not 4 as I had thought.

Everyone is born with an essentially similar brain, configuration, and potential for mastery.

Then why do we see only a limited number of people truly excel and realize their potential power? The common explanations that you will hear are natural talent, brilliance, or something they were born with. Now countless display fantastic skill and talent in some field, but only 87
