Mexico. The new reality dating show, “90 Day: Hunt for Love,” premiering Monday, May 26, on TLC, takes eight hopeless romantics to a tropical resort to see if sparks fly.

The singles looking for love are Tiffany Franco (“90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way”), Chantel Everett (“90 Day Fiancé,” “The Family Chantel”), Colt Johnson (“90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?”), Rob Warne (“90 Day: The Last Resort”) and “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” stars Cortney Reardanz, Usman “SojaBoy” Umar and exes Tim Malcolm and Jeniffer Tarazona.

Per TLC, the “90 Day: Hunt for Love” cast members “have loved, lost and learned a few lessons along the way,” over a few “90 Day” spinoff appearances each. While they all may have split from the partners they joined the franchise with, that hasn’t stopped any of the singles from popping up in other TLC shows, from documenting their dating lives to sharing insights during recap and reunion shows.

The series starts off big, staging a masquerade ball to get the romances rolling, encouraging flirty connections among the

The official trailer for the series is a wild ride. Late-night hot tub make-outs, night-vision camera footage of couples getting to know each other and sun-soaked, romantic dates show just how quickly these “90 Day” alums can find love if they’re looking for it.

Initial saucy connections may just be too good to be true, as the trailer also highlights clips from “90 Day: Hunt for Love,” where lust has evolved into greed. Jeniffer has eyes for more than one man at the resort and as Rob puts it, “All is fair in love and war. Sometimes people get hurt.”

Drinks and tears flow freely and someone will even be carted away in an ambulance. This series has everything that a dating competition show lover could ask for. For even more juice, the companion show, “Hunt for Love: Between the Sheets,” airs immediately after new episodes of “90 Day: Hunt for Love,” with exclusive cast member commentary on the romances in Mexico and extra footage that didn’t make the cut.

The “90 Day: Hunt for Love” cast members have been mainstays of TLC’s K-1 visa-centric series, but only one had their

their family and friends in Atlanta before the pair filed for divorce in 2022.

Tiffany, who joined the franchise with the first season of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” packed up her life in Maryland when she fell in love on vacation. Colt, meanwhile, has had three relationships — two marriages — documented through the 90 Day franchise, is now ready to look for love again. Real estate agent Cortney shared the experience of her short-lived romance with Spanish actor Antonio Millon in the first season of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” before appearing in “90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined” with another beau. Nigerian hip-hop artist Usman was one side of a storied “90 Day” love triangle between two American women, both quite a few years his senior.

Then, there are the exes on the beach! Tim and Jeniffer, who did not work out during the second season of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” are both in Tulum for the new dating show. Rekindling the spark they once shared seems unlikely, but anything is possible with TLC cameras around.

Q: What ever happened to the actress who played Astrid on “Fringe”? I’ve seen the other stars around since, but not her.

A: The devoted fanbase of sci-fi show “Fringe,” which aired on Fox from 2008 to 2013, had a hard time when the show was canceled. But they’ve been comforted to see the stars in other stuff since. Stars such as Joshua Jackson (now on the hit series “Doctor Odyssey”) and Anna Torv (now on “The Last Of Us”) have been easy to follow — not so much for Jasika Nicole.

Nicole played Astrid on “Fringe,” one of the show’s four stars. But she’s had a bit more trouble finding equally juicy roles since. She mostly pops up as a recurring star these days, but on some pretty major shows. For example, she had an ongoing engagement as Kim Munoz on “Scandal” between 2013 and 2016. More recently, she was promoted from occasional guest to series co-star for the third season of ABC’s “The Good Doctor,” playing Dr. Carly Lever.

‘Marathon Man’ keeps up its thrilling pace

Almost 50 years later, “Marathon Man” stays in the running as one of the most original and intriguing thrillers of its decade.

Adapted by William Goldman (who won an Oscar for his “All the President’s Men” script the same year) from his best-selling novel, the 1976 melodrama — being shown by MGM+ on Friday, May 30, and by MGM+ Marquee on Saturday. May 31 — casts Dustin Hoffman (who also was in the other film) as Babe Levy, a runner and graduate student drawn into mystery and terror through his brother Doc’s (Roy Scheider) covert dealings as an international gem courier.

The latter’s work gets more complicated by the carcrash death of the brother of Christian Szell (Laurence Olivier), a war criminal who was utilizing Babe to get diamonds to his deceased sibling in New York.

If this sounds complex ... well, it is, but it’s to the credit of director John Schlesinger (reuniting with Hoffman after “Midnight Cowboy”) that it plays out smoothly, helped by superb camera work by Conrad Hall (who also shot the Goldman-written “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” for which both men earned Academy Awards). There’s a lot of variety to the visual style of “Marathon Man,” too, from sunlit riverside jogging trails to an eerie meeting place between Doc and Szell.

Especially considering the variety of roles he had played by the time he tackled the youthfully naive Babe here, Hoffman does a remarkable job of what’s

required of him here. His scenes with Olivier — who’s absolutely chilling as the dental-work-inclined villain who constantly asks the question, “Is it safe?” — crackle from the differences in the actors’ styles, something Hoffman has made interesting comments about in reflecting on the experience of making the film.

Touchingly, he’s been known to cry while reflecting on working with the ever-masterful Olivier, who had health challenges at the time but earned an Oscar nomination as Szell. Scheider also is fabulous in holding his own turf opposite Olivier, and his sleek and elegant physical movement is an element that deserves special mention.

Also prominent in the “Marathon Man” cast are William Devane (who would team again with Schlesinger on “Yanks”) as another mystery man who’s a particularly close contact of Babe’s, and Marthe Keller as a fellow student who attracts Babe’s interest ... though there may be more to her than it first appears, something Doc is highly suspicious about. Notable, too, are Richard Bright (“The Godfather”) and Marc Lawrence (“The Man With the Golden Gun”) as Szell’s generally silent but fearsome henchmen.

“Marathon Man” demands some viewer patience as the various plot threads take their time coming together, but the result is enormously rewarding. It holds up extremely well after five decades, a mark of a classic that deserves all the appreciation it gets.

Best KEVIN COSTNER MOVIES

“The Big Chill” (1983): There’s a catch to this credit, since Kevin Costner — whose new History series “Kevin Costner’s West” begins Monday, May 26 — is seen only briefly and partially as Alex, the deceased man whom fellow friends from college gather to remember.

“Silverado” (1985): In a tribute to many classic Westerns, Costner is cast as one of several cowboys fighting corruption in the title town.

“The Untouchables” (1987): Costner does fine work as Elliot Ness, the U.S. Treasury agent who assembles a team to help him take down mobster Al Capone (Robert De Niro).

“No Way Out” (1987): This tense drama casts Costner as a Navy hero enlisted as an assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Defense (Gene Hackman) — the accidental killer of his own secret mistress (Sean Young), who also was involved with Costner’s character.

“Bull Durham” (1988): In his first of several baseball-themed pictures, Costner stars as a minor-league veteran who has a rival in a promising pitcher (Tim Robbins) for the affections oi a groupie (Susan Sarandon).

“Field of Dreams” (1989): This enormously popular, moving fantasydrama features Costner as a farmer who builds a baseball diamond to attract the ghosts of icons of the sport.

“Dances With Wolves” (1990): Costner earned Oscars as producer and director of this saga of a Civil War officer and the Sioux Indians he ultimately befriends.

“Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” (1991): Though some critics had problems with Costner’s accent (or lack thereof), this drama takes a notably mature approach to the title character’s legend.

“JFK” (1991): As New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison, Costner leads a huge cast in director and co-writer Oliver Stone’s probe of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“The Bodyguard” (1992): Also a producer of this mega-hit, Costner plays an ex-Secret Service agent with a reluctant client, a temperamental movie and music superstar (Whitney Houston).

“Wyatt Earp” (1994): Costner portrays the legendary lawman in a portrait that traces Earp’s life to the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral and beyond.

“Tin Cup” (1996): Sort of the golf version of “Bull Durham,” this comedy (from the same filmmaker, Ron Shelton) stars Costner as a failed player who vies for a comeback at the U.S. Open.

“Open Range” (2003): Costner directed and stars in this Western drama about a seemingly imminent range war; Robert Duvall and Annette Bening also star.

Troubles with adulting: FX explores growing pains in ensemble comedy ‘Adults’

There is something about a ragtag group of friends that the television industry just loves to latch on to. From “Three’s Company” in 1977 to “Seinfeld” in ‘89, “Friends” in ‘94 and “How I Met Your Mother” in 2005, proof that the ensemble comedy is alive and well rests in the DNA of shows such as HBO’s “Girls” and Netflix’s new Tina Fey (“Saturday Night Live”) dramedy, “The Four Seasons,” which premiered May 1. Joining the ranks of these predecessors and various other contemporaries is FX’s series “Adults,” premiering with two episodes Wednesday, May 28, on the broadcast network and the next day on Hulu.

Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, both of whom got their start as writers for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Adults” follows a group of 20-somethings in New York City who get a real taste of adulthood while staying at a friend’s childhood home while his parents are away on an RV trip across the United States.

The friend in question, Samir (Malik Elassal,

a fine young man but still struggles to understand the complexities of his parents’ boiler and the im portance of separating laundry.

Growing up, Samir had his parents to rely on, but he also had Billie (Lucy Freyer, “Paint,” 2023). His childhood best friend, Billie was quick to ma ture and often found herself in control of matters, regardless of the situation. But after a poor choice at work that ended with her “vaguely threaten[ing] her boss,” says FX, Billie is back at square one: questioning her choices and mulling over her pre viously decided-upon path in life.

View from the Couch

Joining Samir and Billie in their quests to be kind and functioning members of society are fellow burgeoning adults Issa (Amita Rao, “Deli Boys”), Anton (Owen Thiele, “Dollface”) and the always full-named Paul Baker (Jack Innanen, “The Office Movers”).

Issa, who has been prone to collecting odd jobs as she learns which passion she wants to channel her energy into, is currently teaching a children’s dance class. Ever the driven activist type, Issa is described by FX as someone who “loves her friends hard but struggles to feel

“YELLOWSTONE: SEASON 5 — PART 2”

The high-rated, Taylor Sheridan-mentored Paramount Network series about a cattle-ranching family came to an end after a long delay – and without original star Kevin Costner, whose involvement in the back half of the final season became a point of contention and media speculation – with the fates of certain characters determined definitively, though the overall saga will continue in the planned sequel show “The Madison.” This part of the story begins with shocking news for the Duttons, putting siblings Beth (played by Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) in sharp conflict with each other, and soon settling into an extended flashback recalling the events that led up to the tragedy in

Paul Baker is known by both names despite the fact that he is the only Paul in their immediate friend group. Why? Well, some people just suit their full name better — like “Colin Robinson” of FX’s vampire series “What We Do in the Shadows,” for instance). A kind Canadian who moved to New York City to leave his imprint on the city — or maybe to have the city leave its imprint on him — Paul Baker is happy to have finally found a friend group that suits his personality and his

Last but not least in the group is Anton, “the only member of the friend group with a real job, even though he doesn’t quite understand what it is” (per FX). Despite initially only having ties to Samir, his college roommate, Anton has developed a close, fairly boundaryless relationship with all four of the others. Although the connection is genuine, intense friendships are par for the course with Anton and his oozing charisma.

The series comes from Kronengold and Shaw, who have worked as a duo ever since their viral 2018 joint Yale graduation speech in front of public figure and honored guest Hillary Clinton. Their unbeatable chemistry, impeccable comedic timing and their own recent lived experiences with “adulting” show through the fiber of the new FX

question. Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, Ryan Bingham and Jennifer Landon also are among cast regulars. *** (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Bluray)

“OUTLANDER: THE COMPLETE SEVENTH SEASON”

The popular Starz series, based on Diana Gabaldon’s time-traveling fantasy-drama novels about the Fraser family and their associates, continues with the American Revolution as a backdrop. This portion of the saga opens with Claire (Caltriona Balfe) unjustly standing trial for murder – and Jamie (Sam Heughan) racing to save her. Meanwhile, the growing military concerns force many people including the Frasers to reassess their priorities and adapt in ways that are quite foreign to them, in more ways than one. The story here was inspired directly by several of the Gabaldon books. The show will have an eighth season that will be its final one, but the prequel show “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” is due this summer. Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton and John Bell also continue as cast regulars. DVD extras: four “untold” scenes; deleted scenes; outtakes. *** (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)

“THE ALTO KNIGHTS”

Robert De Niro has a particularly intriguing co-star – himself – as he returns to the crime-drama milieu by reuniting with director Barry Levinson (“Wag the Dog”) to portray

both Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, real-life 1950s underworld bosses who pursued different avenues to power. Once friends, they come into conflict when one of the men tries to regain the influence he once had, threatening the empire built by De Niro’s other character. Nicholas Pileggi, author of the book on which the De Niro-starring “Goodfellas” was based, wrote the screenplay. Debra Messing (“Will & Grace”), Cosmo Jarvis (“Shogun”) and “The Sopranos” alums Kathrine Narducci and Michael Rispoli also are featured, but there’s no question that De Niro gets the bulk of the screen time here, if only for the fact that he’s the top-billed star twice over. *** (R: AS, P, V) (Also on Bluray and Digital)

“KINGDOM OF HEAVEN”

For its 20th anniversary, director Ridley Scott’s 2005 epic is issued in a 4K Ultra HD “Director’s Cut” version meant to add even more depth to the central characters who include Balian (played by Orlando Bloom), a blacksmith who mourns his wife’s death while reuniting with his father (Liam Neeson) to travel to Jerusalem. A potential ruler of that land {Marton Csokas) proves to be a substantial opponent for them, eventually leading to a war that tests the humanity and stamina of all involved. Eva Green (“Casino Royale”), Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Edward Norton, Michael Sheen and Jon Finch also are among stars of the

Where are we? That’s the question at the heart of the thrilling new competition series “Destination X,” coming Tuesday, May 27, to NBC with “The Walking Dead” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan serving as the show’s host and executive producer.

Get ready for the ultimate travel mystery with “Destination X,” inspired by the award-winning Belgian series “Bestemming X.” In this exciting new iteration, Europe transforms into a giant, real-life gameboard as a group of 12 strangers board a blacked-out bus that journeys off across the continent. But, there’s a twist: they have no idea where they are going.

“This series is the ultimate highstakes guessing game, inviting viewers to embark on a thrilling journey across Europe’s most iconic landscapes and landmarks, all while playing along with our adventurous, dynamic cast,” Sharon Vuong, NBC’s head of unscripted programming, said in a statement.

With Morgan serving as the show’s host — a first in the actor’s career — he leads the contestants to a mysterious location where they must rely on their strategy, intuition and sharp eye for detail. In each episode, contestants step off the bus to compete in location-themed challenges designed to offer subtle clues — or cunning misdirects — about their whereabouts. Contestants must

huge production; the wealth of bonus material includes features on the picture’s sound design and visual effects. The script is by “The Departed” Oscar winner William Monahan. **** (R: AS, N, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)

“STARMAN”

Director John Carpenter’s emotion-filled 1984 fantasy gets a home-video relaunch in a 4K Ultra HD Steelbook edition, with Jeff Bridges in a superbly tempered, Oscar-nominated performance as an alien who crashes on Earth and assumes the image of a recent widow’s (Karen Allen) late husband.

She’s understandably shocked to see her spouse’s look-alike, but she’s soon drawn in to the extraterrestrial’s quest to reunite with others of his own kind ... with death being his destiny if he doesn’t. Charles Martin Smith and Richard Jaeckel co-star as government officials who become involved in the situation.

Special features include an audio commentary by Carpenter and Bridges, as well as deleted scenes and a “making-of” documentary.

The film inspired a 1986-87 ABC series (which starred Robert Hays) and a comic book. *** (PG: AS, P, V) (Also on DVD and Blu-ray)

“THE THREE MUSKETEERS”/ “THE FOUR MUSKETEERS”

Released respectively in 1973 and 1974, director Richard Lester’s witty all-star takes on novelist Alexandre Dumas’s classic adventure (which were shot back-to-back, thus

draw on their knowledge of culture, history and geography to uncover hints about their location and earn an all-important advantage.

The 12-player cast includes Biggy Bailey, Ally Bross, Kim Conner, Shayne Cureton, Jonah Evarts, Mack Fitzgerald, Tai Lowry, Rachel Rossette, Rick Szabo and reality TV alumni JaNa Craig (“Love Island”), Josh Martinez (“The Challenge: USA”) and Peter Weber (“The Bachelor,” “The Traitors”), who join the journey to shake things up. At the end of each episode, the stakes increase in the Map Room ceremony, where contestants must place an “X” on a giant map guessing their location. The contestant whose guess is farthest from their location is eliminated. The last person standing will meet Morgan at the ultimate Destination X and walk away with a grand prize of $250,000.

“Destination X” is executive produced by Andy Cadman (“Love Island”), Emanuel Vanderjeugd (“Snackmasters”), Dan Adamson (“Big Zuu’s 12 Dishes in 12 Hours”), David Clews (“The Real Marigold Hotel”) and Shireen Abbott (“Happy Campers: The Caravan Park”).

Michael York plays the headstrong D’Artagnan, who teams with musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis (Oliver Reed, Frank Finlay, Richard Chamberlain) to oppose the power-obsessed Cardinal Richelieu’s (Charlton Heston) scheming against King Louis XIII (Jean-Pierre Cassel). Raquel Welch fared particularly well here, showing her comedic chops as D’Artagnan’s new love Constance ... and winning a Golden Globe Award for the performance.
