Mineola Wind Ensemble performs with Marines

Members of the Mineola High School Wind Ensemble got the rare opportunity to perform with a member of “The President’s Own” Marine Band, Staf Sergeant Tyler Hsieh. SSgt. Hsieh, a clarinetist, visited the high school to rehearse with the students prior to performing with them at the “Tribute to our Veterans” concert, which was held on May 9 at the Adelphi Performing Arts Center. were: Jocelyn Chiu, Connie Huang, Carolyn Lau, Lauren Lui, Joshua Park and Lauren Tran. Those students presented a 10-minute oral presentation that covers their entire business plan. The district extends congratulations to all on this wonderful accomplishment.

“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band’s mission is to perform for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Founded in 1798 by an Act of Congress, the Marine Band is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization.
